Came here for lunch on a Tuesday with some friends and couldn't have been more pleased. The restaurant itself is tucked inside a market but its right next to the entrance. Not terribly hard to find. Both the cook, who ostensibly owned the restaurant, and the one server were very welcoming and we were seated very quickly. There was also the option to take-out the food and/or eat in the small seating area right outside the restaurant.
I ordered a ginger beer which was only 2 euros and though it was a little sweet for my taste, still had the bite I look for in ginger beer. The menu only consisted of 3 items, one of which was handwritten-something that I always love to see as that generally means they do what they do very well.
The four of us all ordered the same poulet coco(coconut chicken) dish for 9 euros and for 2 more euros, we all got fried plantains. Our dishes came with a heaping pile of white rice, a bowl of curry, a medium-sized chicken breast/leg and the plantains. All for of our plates were clean afterwards as the food was absolutely fantastic. Chicken was cooked perfectly and seasoned well, the curry had great balance and was creamy enough to mix well with rice and the plantains were sliced, allowing them to fry on all sides and making for extra deliciousness.
The owner ended up not charging us for the plantains because we were Sciences Po students and we talked to him for a while after paying. For 9 euros, you absolutely cannot do better in Paris(bold statement, I know).
Extremely highly recommended, will absolutely be back. read more
