Interesting discovery for a Japanese restaurant. Very close to Laval university this place was hustling and bustling with students in the very busy pyramid mall. I came here for an experience at Quebec City Japanese food. My decision was to try the spicy ramen with some sushi as backup. The ramen was fresh and full of fresh vegetables but man. This place needs to learn about ramen broth. Probably one of the worst ramen soups I've had in quite some time. The broth had absolutely no flavour. I'm no ramen expert, I have been to various cities in Japan and sampled a good amount of bowls of ramen but this my friends was orange water with a light spice flavour with noodles and vegetables. As my mother taught and told me not to waste food I ate it.
The sushi was the only redeeming quality about the meal. It was chef's choice 10 pieces but it was actually pretty good. A large variety of salmon, cucumber, shrimp and some spicy rolls, it's one of he better sushi rolls I've had in the province of Quebec. Sushi has improved quite a bit in Quebec in the last few years and this is an excellent example. Fresh flavorful, excellent texture and presentation. I'd come again for this. Maybe I ordered the wrong ramen but what I ordered I wouldn't again.
Price for the meal is not super expensive as its clientele is mostly students. Also it's in a quasi-food court. A mixed review for me but the sushi was good. Ramen...meh! read more
