Typo are a very fashionable stationary store franchise that have been cropping up in a number of…read moreplaces across the Adelaide Metropolitan area. While generally quite pricey with designer stationary items, you can easily grab a bargain if you know what you are looking for, hence my first piece of advice for shopping here - keep your eye open for $5 clearance tags. The pens at Typo are very nice and its worth looking at finding a nice pen while you are there because even though they are more expensive then what you probably could get from Kmart nearby, they certainly last longer and feel nicer to write with. They also have a great range of phone cases and other cool items here. They even had a wooden QWERTY keyboard for a desktop computer, which I found really cool. The store is quite small though, so it is important to keep your eye open for other shoppers. Make sure that you also check out their funny birthday cards too.

Yes, I agree with the previous reviewer - Typo is definitely a step above Smiggle! Let's say it's…read morein between Kikki K and Smiggle, for arguments' sake ;) This particular Typo is pretty squishy, but as long as you have time to browse around the store and squeeze past young people, then you'll find it worth it. I like the copious amount of skulls in this store - I confess I have a weakness for them, and am pretty pleased to find them pretty much all the time here! I think they go too far sometimes with their un-useful items which are supposed to be 'clever' ... I can forsee many stupid gifts being thrown in the bin. Apart from this, if you're looking for a cute mouse pad, a cool mug, a quirky notebook or an awesome laptop bag, then this should be your first stop. Not as classy as Kikki K, but more grown up than Smiggle ;)

It also happens to use cartridges that can't be refilled. Bummer. Enter this Cartridge World, where the staff member was so helpful he advised me that I could purchase double the amount of ink for nowhere near double the price. I really appreciated this as obviously he'd make more money if I kept buying the ones I had been, but instead he gave awesome customer service and I keep coming back. In a nutshell - more bang for your buck!

I do like this shop when I'm having a printer emergency. You know what I'm talking about? You've…read moregot a deadline to meet, and your printer doesn't want to cooperate. It doesn't matter whether it's for uni, for school, or for work (inevitably the day before you're due for a performance review), it's always the worst time. In my case, I don't use a printer very often. You'd think I'd have a hard time running out of ink, but for some reason, it's been designed to run out of ink within one week, regardless of how much printing I do. So when I was unexpectedly caught short on ink, I went in here and they sorted me out fairly quickly and reasonably cheaply. While I prefer to buy my cartridges online (where it's much cheaper again), this place is awesome when you can't wait and need ink right effing now.

Small and large Filing cabinets, larger office desks, luxurious executive's leather chairs, folders, tabs, A4 Reflex paper for the printer, 'To-Do' and 'Outgoing' trays, even electronics...no problems, this place will have it. Personally, I have purchased quite a few things from here, that are still in use for my office. Missing something in your life? Need to tidy all your papers up off the floor? Lacking organization? Don't stress! OFFICEWORKS WILL SAVE YOU! This place is quite large inside... yet everything you need for your office is right here. What I love most is that if you buy something heavy and large in size like a new filing cabinet, the strong guys in the warehouse are willing to help you put it into the back of your vehicle. Officeworks is Australia's largest supplier of office and stationery products catering for all your work, home and school needs. Did you know Dick Smith started his business empire apparently with only $610 dollars, goes to show…read morewhat drive and tenacity can do for you. According to the tabloids he sold the business to Woolworths several years ago for a whopping $20 million, so it's no longer and Australian business but it still retains the name. Their image certainly has changed and come into the 21st century, which goes to show the roaring trade they've been doing over the years. The St Marys store is the closest to me and is by far one of the smaller stores located in Adelaide, but never the less there is a general spread of products available and there are good and bad eggs (staff) at each one. It seems to be the way with any large stores and chains as they can camouflage themselves but at a smaller store they're not so hidden! So I have had good and not so good experiences at this particular one. Without going into the nitty gritty I had my issue rectified after six months by another staff member - I can't believe I was patient for so long - that the person who served me initially should've done in the first place or not forgotten to follow procedures. I'm not going to dismiss going there entirely as when I do go back both staffers are still there, but I always wait to be served by the person who resolved the issue, I know will give me the correct information, knows their products and is not VAGUE. Besides parking is easy and directly out the front of the store plus not too busy inside where you don't need to wait too long to be served. They do price match with other stores which is a good thing but I do shop elsewhere too to get what's best for me - just like they do!

Usually I'm a big lover of stationery, especially when it's bright colours and available in pink…read more But I do find the Smiggle products a bit expensive and the quality is terrible as I have had no luck with all the products I've purchased here. I've brought a number of pens here over the past year as I like the range of colours the smiggle gel pens come in. Unfortunately the lids broke on all five of them and one even stopped working a few weeks after I brought it. So I thought maybe it was just the pens but just now my Smiggle backpack broke all because the zip was not installed properly in the first place. When the backpack was made, there was no end placed on the zipper and it was just cut off and stitch in place causing the entire zipper pull to come off when I unzipped my bag. I went into the marion store to show them what had happened and I was told I was carrying too much stuff in my bag and I had a good run out of it. I've only had this bag a few months and it's in great condition. I thought Smiggle products were built for school kids who can give their bags a beating? I only carry a few things to work each week and now I can't use the bag at all because of Smiggle's faulty product construction. The sales assistant told me to go online to make an enquiry and turns out she gave me the wrong information because they told me to go to the store with the problem. Usually the staff are nice and talkative but I wasn't satisfied with the service I received when I wanted to make a complaint. I'd suggest to buy here if you like bright tacky stationery and you don't care about quality and how long the product will last.
