I was shopping at the Ace Hardware at 3404 West 95th St in Evergreen Pk IL today and got help from one of the store worker to see if they carry an item I was looking for, needless to say as usual Ace came through again. Ace Hardware is a local trusted helpful Hardware store. Lowe's, Home Depot and Menard's is ok, but Ace Hardware is still in a class by itself. As soon as a worker see you he or she are ready to help you ASAP, unlike the big box stores. The cashier is very informative as well to assist you in finding the items you're looking for. Darlene, another associate, and the manager on duty (I wish I knew his name) provided me with the highest level of customer service. He made my day! He was a one man show on the floor and handing pickups and he even located my 18" Baker Santa that I was looking for online. Darlene found me on the floor, and she let me know that the manager had located my item. When I got to the register, Darlene took her time, and she made sure that my coupon was properly applied. I was able to find the most unique garland & Santa's. They have something for everyone. The store is neat, clean and well maintained. My order was quickly and efficiently processed with a smile. Darlene was professional, and I loved the way she worked to provide exemplary service as she even assisted her coworker when I arrived with my return.

I asked the guy standing by the register for one and he walked me over to them. The heavy duty one? he asked. No, I said, the light-duty version. He took it from the hanger and held it out toward me. Then I saw the price hanging right there in front of us both. SIX DOLLARS AND, LIKE, NINTY-SEVEN CENTS! For ONE?! (Disregard the website price, totally. In-store it's $6.97!) Wait, WHAT?! I told him there was NO WAY I would pay that much! and I left. I drove directly to a Home Depot. I bought TWO of them for $2.97 EACH! Even after taxes, I paid less for two than they wanted for just one and that's BEFORE taxes! On the drive back home, I promised myself I would NOT be installing one of those new switches until I first posted this review. Promise made, promise kept! Time to install my $2.97 switch now!
