Good news; the potholes in the parking lot where Office Max in Matteson have been filled in!

So I'm finishing up at OfficeMax, making copies for a project, and the guy says ma'am I need to put you in the system to ring you out. I looked at him crazy because my copies total all of $4 and some change, and they were very basic. Oh, and I paid cash. So I asked why do you need to put me in system. He explained that it's the process of the store etcetera ME: I don't have a phone number that I want to share. GUY: The system needs a number to process your copies. ME: Okaaaay. You can use 777-9311. GUY: Is that with a 708 area code? ME: (STANK FACE SCOOBY DOO GRUNT) So you never heard of that number before? I could have given you the number to Empire Carpet. GUY: That's not the number for Empire. So Ma'am is that a 708 area code? ME: Okay, it's a bogus number and you can use 708. GUY: Okay. What address can I use? ME: Address? Why do I need to give you my address to pay for 7 color copies? GUY: It's just a policy of the store. ME: You're right. You didn't make the rule. You're just doing your job. I went here tonight. They closed before new posted hours and ignored me when I came to the door. I had to call and knock for 10 minutes before someone came to see what I wanted. The manager on duty tonight was one of the rudest and unpleasant humans I've ever met. He told me that he was not going to hold "payroll" for one order. It wasn't even closing time. He was rude and continued to roll his eyes as I tried to explain myself. I could say what I think he was going though at the time but I'll stick to the facts. Worst customer service experience that didn't involve Comcast. Tried to buy a new office chair for my home office and they got everything wrong. I even paid to have the chair assembled, so it was done right. It promptly fell apart when I got home. The only thing worse was the experience of trying to return the broken chair. Apparently the person who originally sold me the chair screwed up the sale so they couldn't do the refund straight back to my card. It required a manager and they still needed two separate transactions at separate registers and I was almost late to meet a train I'd originally had an hour to get to. Doubt I'll ever be back. read more

Well. I came here recently to buy school supplies for my son. When we got to the register I informed the cashier about a possible pricing discrepancy regarding my purchase. The Operations Manager Steve stated they were the right price. I told the cashier to hold off on my order so I could get the correct item. When I walk towards the back, I hear the manager talking s*** about me to someone on the radio. I informed him that the labels are misleading and another customer noticed the same. He said he doesnt make the prices. I ended up getting the items I needed and then leaving. I dont recommend this location at all. read more

I had sent some things to be printed via the internet and went to pick them up. Unfortunately, their system did not automatically print my jobs, so I had to wait while it was done. David could not have been nicer or more apologetic. He even cut the cards for me for free. He was truly the nicest retail person I have encountered in a long time. I'll definitely use them again. I'll just call ahead to see if my jobs have been printed. read more

Just wanted to let everyone know of my pleasant shopping experience at Office Max tonight. I only needed a few things and found everything. The entire store was neatly organized and well stocked. Items that were on sale were clearly identified.
