So, my daughter and I made our way in to see what kind of neat treasures we can find. Walking in, it's quite overwhelming. It's a good sized store front but they have a lot crammed onto the sales floor. We made our way through through the store and they have some pretty pieces available. Tea sets, furniture, clothes. Surprisingly, I was quite taken back on some of the pricing her. I found an old birdcage and they wanted almost 200 bucks for it. That is some crazy business. Some salad bowl sets were 10 cause I couldn't imagine pricing anything above that. A tea set for 175 dollars. As full the store was with product, nothing really stuck out to me. To be honest, this place had a thrift store vibe with crazy pricing. Is everything vintage? No. It's a neat store if you're willing to maneuver your way through all the clutter. The pricing is out of this world and you can probably find similar things at the Idaho Youth Ranch for a quarter of the cost. It was neat that we made it in to check out but it just wasn't my cup of tea.

She was helpful, friendly, and someone my daughter and I enjoyed interacting with. She was replaced during my time there by Danielle, who seemed nice enough, but did not get to know her as well. Cody, the maintenance manager was also really great. If there was a problem, and there were very few, it was quickly resolved. I did have one negative note that soured my experience of living there a combined 3 years. Upon move out, $12 of my $400 security deposit was returned. For that, I would probably not return, even if my circumstances were such that I needed to rent again. Here's the problem: during the last walk through, I was told by the management that not only had I been a model resident, but I had left the apartment nearly move in ready. I'm a clean person. My daughter and I cleaned together on a weekly basis. They made a point to remark on how clean the carpets were as well. The only thing the maintenance staff would have needed to do is spackle a few holes from pictures I had hung and a quick patch of paint. I had even left brightly colored post-it notes by each hole so they would be easy to spot and tidy up. My problem isn't that they didn't refund my security deposit, my problem is that they called it a "security deposit" in the first place. Had they told me from inception of the lease that I wouldn't be refunded, I could have lived with that. The fact that they called it a security deposit, told me what a clean/model resident I had been, and then refunded $12, shows a lack of integrity. I lived here for a year previos to my recent 2 years, and when I moved out that time got most of my security deposit back. In short, the apartment and the other amenities on the property were great, however, when it came time to demonstrate integrity and honesty, they did not. I would not rent from any of the properties managed by this company. Very disappointed by how things ended there. Only giving 2 stars, one for Cody and Tia, and one for the physical property. Withholding 3 stars for lack of integrity, because integrity matters.

After my mother passed, we were left with two storage units of her home goods as she was in…read moreassisted living. We set up an appointment with Shawna at Golden Goose, and my brother and I went to meet her at the storage unit location. After waiting for 30 minutes past the scheduled time and leaving a voice mail for her, we decided to go about the rest of our day. Shawna called my wife and was very apologetic saying that she had wrote down a different time and date. We rescheduled with her for the following week. This time 5 minutes or so past the appointment time, my wife called me to tell me that Shawna had called her to let her know that she had a nose bleed and was going to be late and that was if she could make it at all. I called Shawna and explained that we were waiting at the units and she agreed to come after she got her nose to stop bleeding. When she arrived she looked over the units very casually, took a couple pictures without moving anything out, and told us that she would have the contract drafted up and to us later that afternoon, and that they would get everything out by the end of the month (June). We did not see any quote or contract come through that day, the next day, or even the next week. I eventually called her to see what was going on and Shawna told me that her business partner had looked over the pictures and determined that they did not want to move forward. I explained that that would have been good information to have days ago as now I am paying another month of storage fees after Shawna had told my wife, brother, and I that it was all good and they would get the stuff out before the end of the month. She said that she was looking for other estate sales companies that she could refer us to, but failed to let us know that there was going to be an issue with what we were originally told. I feel as though the whole thing was nothing but red flags, but we wanted to support a local small business. We will still support a small business, just not this one. This whole debacle was handled poorly, with little to no communication, professionalism, or tact.
