Mark Beckley is your "go to" guy for ANYTHING related to computers. My chiropractor had engaged…read moreMark to set up his office computing system and was very pleased with the results. He gave me Mark's number. My storage needs are significant given that as a photographer I had accumulated several decades of photographs that needed to be stored and backed up. Mark removed old hard drives in my tower and expanded storage capacity by installing three 8TB hard drives. He then transferred all storage onto the new drives. When my motherboard failed, he was able to replace it. Each time I engaged him he reviewed and cleaned up the entire system, eliminating junk, optimizing the system's efficiency. Mark is diligent, does not cut corners and can pursue very creative "work arounds" for perplexing IT problems. The fact that he's a nice guy with a sense of humor is a bonus... and his prices are very reasonable. He also wrote a book called Bye Bye Computer Guy. Written in a lighthearted, conversational style, this orderly progression concerning the structure and function of computers serves to enlighten scaredy-cats, techno-idiots (like myself) and demystify computing technology. How wonderful that a man who makes his living by troubleshooting and building computers would take his time to educate others in order to help save us time and money. So, face your inner geek by reading BYE-BYE COMPUTER GUY... and contact Mark when you face an IT issue.

I called total tech to verify it was covered under warranty. It was still covered however I would have to bring it back to the store for them to look at it. I explained to her that it not possible since I am a single person and the unit was too large for me to bring back nor do I have the tools to uninstall it. So I went to the store and talked to customer service lady who told me the same thing and I explained the situation to her she passed me on to someone else who said they could do a return pick up and gave me a number to call last Monday. Called the number, he put me on hold and never came back on the phone. So go back to the store talked to Hazel who said they do fix window units in home and she called the correct geek squad number for me and they set up an appointment to have someone come out on Friday. Brandon ( geek squad) called me the day before the appointment to tell me that they still have to send the unit off for repair so if I wanted to cancel or keep the appointment. I said keep the appointment so that he can uninstall it and bring it back to the store (85.52) He came as scheduled and realized he could not take the unit out the window by himself. So he called his supervisor and he goes back to the store. I received a call about an hour later stating that they were going to swipe out the unit and reimburse me the $85.52 but I was going to have to pay $150 for the new unit to be installed and for them to uninstall the old unit. So went to Best Buy store talked to Hazel again she found a unit the same size but I ended up paying $215. I paid it thinking I would get the $85.52 back. They set up appointment for the 3rd party to come uninstall and install. I ended up texting Brandon on Monday about still haven't received refund( no response) called Brandon and left a voicemail on Tuesday. He finally responded by text on Wednesday to call the geek squad number to have them authorize the refund. Called the number on the phone 30 minutes for this guy to tell me the refund was denied because I paid for Brandon to come out to diagnose the problem. But he did not diagnose and couldn't remove the unit. I'm out $297. I probably would have done better calling a a/c unit repair person to look at the window unit to find out why it's freezing. Normally I do not buy warranties on appliances because 9/10 the appliance last longer than the warranty. Before I buy an appliance from BB I will ask if the appliance is covered and how do they repair it? Do you repair in home or I would have to bring it back. Been dealing with Best Buy for over a week now.
