Called store and spoke to lady in printing Dept., explained what exactly I was needing. she informed me of what it was and that they could not process that over the phone and that I'd need to order it online to pick up in the store. I did as she suggested and when picked up it was not what I needed. i explained to the guy who was checking me out and he stated well, that's what you ordered. I explained repeatedly that's what the "person who works in this Dept. told me to order for what I was needing and he said oh well I can't do anything to help you. I left the store with a $100 order that I cannot use extremely frustrated. I then returned to the store to talk to the store manager and the same heartless guy said I'm the manager on duty. I then asked for the store manager and he stated he already spoke to her after I left the first time I was in there and she said she wasn't going to do anything to assist me since that's what I ordered. I asked him to call her so I could speak to her and he stated she said she'd be busy the rest of the day. 'Of course she would be"! I then asked for the DM contact info. and of course he didn't know it and only knew his name was Bruce he thinks. At this point there was NOBODY to assist me so I resorted to corporate. The guy was extremely nice, listened, and apologized that at store level I could not get any assistance and that it should not have been handled this way which I'm aware having been a DM for 46 years and currently own a business. Nit to mention have spent at least a thousand $ in their establishment prior to opening out current location. I was informed by corporate that I would hear back from someone within 24-48 hours since he was escalating the issue. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE by the older big guy working on 10/9/2024 at 10:30 am.. He showed terrible customer service skills, was 100% non empathetic and cared less nor did he try to assist in any manner. However, he knew something was not right to start or he would never had phoned his manager after I walked out the first time and would have assisted while I was in the building initially! HOLD YOUR EMPLOYEES ACCOUNTABLE AND TRAIN THEM PROPERLY ON WHAT PRODUCTS THEY ARE SELLING AND SUGGESTING WHEN THE CUSTOMER THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED REPEATEDLY!! NO STARS IF I COULD!! My husband and I went in the store yesterday. We are in the market for desks and chairs in our home offices. We looked around and found one or two items that we were interested in, but no one EVER approached us and asked if they could help. In fact, two employees stood just feet from us discussing something, and both of them walked away without so much as a glance our way. I'm not going to flag down someone to wait on me, especially since there were several employees on the store. As we exited the store there were no less than FIVE employees hanging around the front of the store, and none of them appeared to be doing anything productive. I'm surprised they are able to stay in business. They may eventually go the way of Tuesday Morning and Bed, Bath and Beyond. Ironically, I never had a problem getting help in either of those stores. read more

Today's praise goes to Arthur. Nice guy. Three reasons. 1) I asked if they had a military discount, and he ruefully said no, but then remarked "kind of a shame... it's really the discount that's most worth giving." Well said. 2) He then helped me find exactly what I needed (a mousepad for optical mice that doesn't warp). Took the time to go search it out himself, chuckling that if he just gave directions it might blow one's mind, given all the aisles of tech surrounding us. 3) He told a great story at checkout. My credit card says "check id". Which he did (gotta appreciate that... so many folks don't). And then he illustrated the point I just made in those parantheses a sentence back by telling me of a huge 300 pound military policeman who came in, bought some goods, and then presented a credit card that instead of a signature on the back had the handwritten word "STOLEN" in the signature field. The guy had put it there to see how often folks would actually check i.d... the guy said folks rarely did and often just glosed over the fact that a huge "STOLEN" was written on the back. Was greeted many times in the store. Clerk was very helpful and when j went to get my prints I sent they were rally fast.

Went to the store to have copies made and one copy sent via priority mail. Got the copies made, but they had some problems figuring out how to price the large envelope I needed. However, that is to be expected with a new store opening. They worked it out and got my package mailed out. Received online confirmation a few days later that it was received before the deadline (IRS package). I like how the employees treated each other and did not take out their frustrations with the envelope pricing on each other or me, the customer. Got it done and me out the door. Will be back! I have been in several office supply stores but never one like the D'iberville Office Depot. The store manager, Mr.Davis, went out of his way to help me find each item I was looking. He could have given me directions, sent me on my way to find it myself but he didn't - excellent knowledge of store content, of reviews on all tech items I was buying. Too bad every business doesn't have a store manager or even an employee that gives each customer the attention to detail that Mr. Davis does. He should be training all company employees... read more
