I'm sure I can give this place five stars. I just haven't experienced enough of what it's popular for yet. And that's my fault because I haven't had a chance to sit and eat ribs or full servings of meat and sides yet. I plan to go back and when I do I will rerate it. But for what we got, it was great. I'm glad there's a non-chain bbq place close by this side of town. We ordered the brisket Philly and the loaded fries. We weee only in the mood for a quick lunch this day, which is why we didn't order full on bbq entree. The atmosphere was quiet. Good music. Friendly service and clean environment. Food flavor was good. It was hard to judge the brisket, as I said, it wasn't served entree style because we ordered it in a sandwhich. The tri tip fries were our favorite of the two. But there were so many options we were excited to come back for with our kids to order. We definitely recommend. I hope they stick around a while because every place that's been here usually doesn't last long. But seeing as they'd been here for longer than we'd heard of it's a good sign. Ordered takeout for lunch and got the Brisket Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich and a side of Mac & Cheese. Both items very affordable for the portion. Tried calling but couldn't get ahold of anyone, so I ordered online. Some menu items were missing online compared to the full menu, but the process was easy, and my order was ready and brought out as soon as I arrived - great service! As for the food, the Philly gets a 6/10. The brisket was delicious, but the sandwich itself was a bit underwhelming and the veggies lacked seasoning, and the bun felt a bit too oily for my liking but the quality of the bread was good! What a friendly staff! I was greeted right away and I didn't get the young ladies name. She was super sweet. I work all over town, and when I'm in a different area of town, I go to yelp, to see what business are in the area. And I saw this BBQ spot. So, after work, I decided to go and check it out. So I went for the ribs, they also have a happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and they have discounted items. I missed happy hour! So after I ordered, I sat down, and me and the young lady chopped it up! Then, John, the owner came out and we chopped it up. He also let me know it would be a few more minutes. It didn't matter, I was off work, and just heading home. He brought my food to me, and said he made sure it was hot, since we talked about my ride home. (that was so sweet) I really wanted to tear into it, in the car, while it was really hot, but I waited.....But when I got home, you best believe, I tore it up! I forgot to put the BBQ sauce on it. It was tender, and just pulled away from the bone. After I ate 2 of them, I dug, in the bag, and dipped it in the sauce, it really kicked it up a notch. I'm extremely satisfied with the ribs I got. I have been staying with a friend in Vegas and decided to check out this barbecue place a couple miles away. The staff was very friendly and responsive and provided excellent service. I went with a 3 meats 2 sides combo plate and let me tell you the baby back pork ribs are phenomenal! The brisket was amazing as well. Nothing tasted bad but the tri-tip and my sides (Mac n cheese and the chili beans) weren't much up my alley. From the moment I walked in the door the customer service was warm, friendly, and inviting. Truly... The customer service alone deserves five stars. I feel good people deserve good things to happen for them. So with that being said, I wish this business all the success in the world for being so awesome. Now, as far as the food goes I enjoyed everything. From the brisket sandwich and curly fries to the freshly made daily upside down cake. My only issue was the fact that the brisket in the brisket sandwich came sliced and my preference is shredded. Next time it 'll remember to request it the way I like it. Dined here on Feb 2nd. Took an Uber from the strip. It's just nice to get off the strip sometimes and see how the other half is living. Right? My Aunt suggested this place. Each year for Father's Day weekend, we look for a new BBQ restaurant only to find out they are closed until further notice due to renovation (by a sign on their door). Wow!!! We had to try their $7.99 breakfast. There was only one server and it seems she really all alone about food came after almost 40 mins. She was doing her best so we are all good. When the food came out, it was enough to make us really happy. I got the 2 pancakes with a choice of bacon or sausage. Everyone in our group was happy and satisfied with their orders. After living around the corner for a few years I finally stoped by after getting off work one morning at 8a, after yelps said it was open. I walked to the door and there was a sign saying the lobby was closed and to order at the gaming bar next door. I ordered tri tip and brisket, both bland not much flavor, not much smoked flavor for slow cooking smoked food, the food came out lukewarm, the BBQ sauce was cold out of a fridge and very bland like it was made for an old folks retirement community and reminded me of plain tomato sauce. I think my high school cafeteria from the 90's had better flavor. The Mac and cheese was filling but seemed like cheese sauce from a supermarket poured over boiled noodles, sauce was runny and did not stick to the noodles, not much cheese in it. The Cole slaw was not creamy and I felt like it was a dressing poured over a shredded cabbage mixture then served, the veg was not able to soak up any flavor from the dressing over night. Having my meal in the gaming bar was ok, it was extremely clean inside, was not the greatest due to a guy on a gaming machine smoking so I decided to go and I took home a rack of baby back ribs and used some Kinder's BBQ sauce out of my fridge. The meat was fall off the bone. The bbq had almost no smoke flavor, the sauce is absolutely disappointing. Service was great bartender was very attentive checking up on me, the ambiance of a gaming bar with decently priced drinks. Now I understand why they closed the lobby. Don't think I'll be back, the customer service is great. This place would be perfect in a retirement community, very bland, not much flavor but the bones from the ribs did pull out easy. read more

So big fan of BBQ and while I enjoy some of my go tos (Ex. Mama Bird), there can never be enough good southern style BBQ. This place popped into my newsfeed a few weeks back and I had been meaning to try it out so I made my way over on a Saturday afternoon and found the time to give them a shot. This joint is located in the southwest corner of Vegas and its near an area that is still in the process of fully developing. The joint is attached directly to another "bar type" establishment and it looks like they share aspects of the facilities. There is enough parking in the lot and the inside of this joint itself fits around 10 tables or so with a few outdoor patios seating as well. The service in here the entire time was super friendly and they were super efficient with the food. The one thing to note is that they probably have certain meats as they gear up for prime meal times to showing up at any time does not guarantee all the meats are available. We were fortunately in luck for this visit and the only item that was not available was a chicken. We decided to order the fried pickles for an appetizer, and two of the "2 meat" combos with one being brisket and ribs with mac and cheese/coleslaw and another combo with mac and cheese, mac salad, and tri tip and sausage. We ordered a few beers which they bring over from the other restaurant that is attached as they seem to have that relationship. The food came out pretty quickly with the service remaining stellar. The sides were good... liked the mac salad and the coleslaw... I will say I like Mama Bird's coleslaw a tad more as it infuses apple into it. The mac and cheese was good and stock standard. The fried pickles were perfectly fried... light/airy and of course the ranch was perfect to compliment. The Ribs were good and so were the brisket. Lots of fattiness for those who love it but if you are the type to want a balance, then these might be a bit fatty for you. With this said the marinade on the ribs were good without being "too saucy" and enjoyed the flavors and preparation. I still liked the flavors and the homemade BBQ sauce had a tad of kick to it (nothing severe) that cut through some of that. The Sausage was good... enjoyed it thoroughly but the star of the show was definitely the Tri-Tip. Ton of flavor.. and the rub was fantastic.... And was surprised how tender it was also. Ribs - The char on these made me a little emotional. Meat flavored all throughout, seasoned properly. 2. Tri-tip - The rub on this was ridiculous. I'm not even a tri-tip girl, but the tenderness of the meat had me levitating. 3. Brisket - This was...good, not great. Super tender, nice fat to lean ratio. Needed a heavier hand with the salt. 4. Mac and cheese - It's so hard to get a good Mac and cheese. Either it's dry, the noodles are over cooked, it's bland, its the wrong noodles. This Mac and cheese is correct. 5. Potato salad - This potato salad also is correct. Potatoes cooked perfectly, not too finely chopped. Seasoned well, great acidity, and no huge chunks of celery to ruin the experience. God bless. We spotted this hidden "BBQ" restaurant behind all the construction on Cactus and Rainbow. This location had a much loved "country Cafe." Hopefully the owners can live up to the heritage here. I will edit my review later as we only had breakfast and have yet to try the BBQ. Some updates: They have changed their menu to have BBQ available ONLY on the weekends, (hence the banner on the corner off the outlying streets. They have a collaboration with the attached bar next door to serve food when the regular dining area is closed. So this leads to some confusion. The door hours state one thing but the new hours are different. They are open at 11 AM, not 8 AM as advertised. I hope they get this confusion solved. I digress, on to the food. My wife & I ordered breakfast and it was surprisingly good. She had biscuits & gravy and the overall taste was really good, (Much better gravy vs Cracker barrel.) The portion was massive! *They could save a few bucks and not serve so much. I had pancakes & bacon. The pancakes were again massive and delicious. The bacon on the other hand was a fail. It seems they have changed from some premium bacon to what is known as "Rolled bacon in a can." This is what cheapo restaurants serve and it was as thin as paper, (see photo.) Not good. But again, the pancakes were outstanding, (*Served with only sugar free syrup...Strange.) The coffee was "ok" as I am a coffee snob. Could improve. The cook/waiter was delightful and kudos to the owners for hiring him. Ambience was good, clean and well lighted. *We did ask for the TV to be turned off as it was hanging over our heads and was a big distraction. I get what the Owners are trying to do here but the lack of signage and the construction in the lot is a major camouflage for this place. The previous menu had a complete different set of prices and specials. Like all the local restaurants, the vendor prices have risen considerably. However, if the BBQ is really good then the price is a great deal. For now, "Off the hook" is a good place for an after 11 Am lunch or brunch meal. *Before 11 Am you are relegated to dine at the bar next door and as much as this could be a convenience option, the smoke smell at the bar is overwhelming. Nice option, but pass. I am looking forward to trying the signature Tri-tip. BBQ so good, it's OFF THE HOOK! A friend of mine recommended we go to the grand opening of this BBQ restaurant next to The Bounty bar. I'm all about good BBQ! We arrived about 615 pm. There was quite a decent line waiting to be served. Being it was the grand opening, they had everything outside, so it wasn't a typical dining experience. They even had entertainment (Elvis himself showed up). They were out of tri tip (which I was most excited about because this is what they are known for). It didn't take very long to get our food. The workers did a great job keeping everything moving efficiently. We got a two meat combo plate with brisket and ribs, mac n cheese, and potato salad. It also came with garlic bread. I got persuaded (they didn't have to pull my arm too hard) into trying the pineapple upside down cake cupcake. The ribs were very well seasoned and good. The brisket was delicious, especially if you mix it into the Mac n cheese with a little bit of BBQ sauce. The potato salad... I still haven't decided if I liked it. It had black olives in it, which I'm not 100 percent fond of, and it was actually a surprise because I've never seen potato salad done this way. It also was way more dry than I prefer (i like a creamy potato salad, but i know everyone is way different on this preference). It wasn't bad, but I probably wouldn't order it again. The Mac n cheese was AMAZING! Some of the best Mac cheese I've had alongside BBQ. The BBQ sauce was good but it had a bit of a kick at the end that kind of catches up to you once you've eaten a bit. It was pretty good though. The garlic bread was garlic bread, it was good. The pineapple upside down cake! Oh man, it was dangerous! Not super sweet, super moist and delicious! I could have easily eaten a sheetpan! SO INCREDIBLE! I'd be back just for that! Best dessert I've ever had at a BBQ place! I wasn't aware there was an option to eat inside until we were getting ready to leave. The restaurant has a cute western type vibe. There is ample seating. I personally really loved the decor. The service was great on my pickup order. They didn't receive it at first, there was a problem with the system but things happen and that's ok. They had "the price is right" on so I got to watch the showcase showdown at the end. Thats a win in my book, hehe. I'm going to rank everything I got separately here, for big differences with each. The price point here is pretty equal to Rollin Smoke, but unfortunately most of the items were not as good to justify that price. I ordered 1/2 rack of baby back ribs off the happy hour menu with 2 sides for $24.99 The cole slaw: while all the Vegas indeed fresh, there was literally no mayo or tanginess that usually accompanies cole slaw. None at all. It's like a tiny small dry salad. The freshness can't really be enough to forgive a lack of such a key component here. Nobody really wants that unfortunately. 2/10. It's not like it was gross or inedible, just no dressing/mayo at all. The Mac n cheese: literss as lot the same problem with the coleslaw, but with cheese instead. Where the heck was the cheese? Most of my noodles just tasted like plain noodles, with the top layer having the ever so slightest hint that there might've been a little cheese that barely kissed it at some point like a cheerleader taking the average guy to the prom but not really into him. Maybe at some point technically there was a hint of contact, but no cheese to be found. Mostly just wet noodles. They were cooked decent, but zero flavor. Again, nobody wants that. 2/10. Cooking noodles well only helps so much when you don't put the cheese in the Mac n Cheese. It's in the name. Cmon now!! A lil bit on the top layer only is what killed this side. Babyback ribs: not bad, but not great. Pretty standard. They didn't seem to have much seasoning, didn't fall off the bone, and not too juicy but with the sauce added, pretty decent overall. 6/10 The SAVING GRACE of the order: Sliced Brisket - OMG SOOOOO GOOOOOD!!!!! Didn't even need sauce. Perfect seasoning, perfect flavor, so much so it is some of the best brisket I've ever eaten in my life, right up there with Soul Belly in The Arts District. I don't know how the brisket could've been better, honestly. I thought 25.99 was well worth a pound. You get a nice mix of filly sliced brisket - fatty, lean, and mixed. It's soooooo goooood. You're absolutely mad if you don't order this and see what I mean. 10/10 I really wish the sides weren't so weak. I'm going to chalk this up to maybe a new employee's first rodeo, and try again in a few weeks just getting the brisket and sides, or maybe the sampler for 60$ that has a bit of every meat. I live about 5 mins away so I don't think the ride had anything to do with it. They even gave me another Mac n cheese for free since the order didn't go through when I went to pick it up on time. That's ok though things happen, and I can forgive that completely. Nearly no cheese in the Mac n cheese and no mayo in the Cole slaw tho, that's worrisome for basic components to be so lackluster. Overall, a bit disappointing but Holy Lord in Heaven am I happy the brisket was absolutely divine!!! Let me start by saying I'm a barbecue snob, and I am very picky. I got the two meat plate and chose tri tip and pork baby back ribs. Both were incredible! The flavors were perfect. The rib meat came off the bone clean. Both had the best smokiness. For my sides, I got the potato salad and macaroni and cheese. The potato salad was exactly how I like it. It's savory and has a nice mustard and pickle flavor. It has no sweetness which is perfect for me. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the macaroni and cheese. It was just ok and a little bland. This restaurant is tucked in the corner of Mountains edge. If you're looking for great barbecue - you've found it! I would totally recommend anything on the menu but my favorite was the Mac and cheese and brisket. You should try them all! read more

When I walked in I smelled nothing in regard to BBQ! The lack of bbq smell was concerning but I had already ordered! The food was terrible. They boiled the meat and it was full of fat! Stopped by after seeing a new restaurant pop up near our neighborhood. We tried the 3 meat combo for lunch 23,99 only and more than enough for the two of us. Sausage and brisket were both tender and delicious, sausage had a bit of a spice kick which we love. The baby back ribs could have been a little more tender but was also nicely flavored. Their homemade sweet bbq sauce was nice but we hope they also add more variety of sauces in the future. All in all it was a nice change from the previous restaurant. read more
