I don't even know where to begin. I think this is the first review that I've ever written. I rely on reviews but I never take the time to write them. Shame on me. I'm taking the time to write this one though!!
If I could give OTBT 100 stars, I would. I rescued my pitbull from NY after she was used for breading and then abandoned. I got so lucky because she is an absolute sweetheart. Shortly after adopting her, I showered her with toys. She took an intense liking to her toys, especially balls. Like a lot of dogs, most toys lasted 20 mins (if I was lucky). I let her do her thing then I picked up the pieces. She never destroyed a durable ball but they became her obsession. She'd run into a parked car if the ball happened to go under it. Her teeth chattered, and her eyes became dilated. To her, it was a toy but I worried that she wouldn't be able to identify her toy vs. my 6 yr old nephew's toy or my young cousin's toy. After moving back to VT, and having them at my house quite often, I decided to seek professional help. I received so much more than that from OTBT.
After sending a message on their FB page, I received a call from Jeff. I was a little surprised because a trainer in the past charged me just to speak with him for 30 mins. Not Jeff. He called and asked me about my girl, what was going on, my reasons for reaching out, etc. We talked for quite a while and he gave me a lot of info. He told me to check out their FB page, the videos, the conversations, and just a ton of info! After that I knew these were the people that I wanted to work with. Right away I knew they CARED. So, I set up an appt for a consultation and then decided on a 3 week board and train.
During that time, Jeff and their team posted videos of Genesis' progress, pictures, updates, everything! At first, I was reaching out a couple times a day to check in on G and they replied within minutes. I appreciated this so much because our pets are like our children. They're our family. Jeff, his wife Gillian, and the rest of the staff at OTBT understand that. They treated my girl like one of their own. During the final week, I went up 3x to train with their team and Genesis. They educated me just as well as they did Gen. They exceeded my expectations. I knew Genesis was going to come out of their with some obedience training, basic skills, but I never thought that I'd be taking home a dog that I could bounce 6+ tennis balls in the room, kick them around and she'd be calm, totally ignoring all of them. I'm sure you're thinking to yourself 'How?!'. Well, this review is probably too long as it is so if you think that your fur baby could use some training in one way or another, I urge you to reach out to them. They're SO unbelievably friendly and they'll understand what you're going through. And if your pup doesn't need training but you need a reliable, safe, loving place to leave your baby while you go on vacation, this is it. From training, to boarding, to leash classes and doggie socials, they have it all. Thank you OTBT and we'll see you all soon! Love, K & Happy Hippo read more
