This was a pretty nice Pet Smart in general. It's not that a pet store can do much to stand out,…read morebut they did have a few problems while we were there hence the three stars. First off the smell is bad but expected in a store with lots of live pets, just be ready for it. The main issue I had was that we went in looking to possibly adopt a kitten that day and they apparently don't have reps from the shelters there anymore so the employees are the ones doing all the adoption procedures. The problem was that they didn't know any information about the cats, not even what was on the sheets. It's hard to make such a serious purchase without any knowledge of the history or types of cats they are. Hopefully they will expand the knowledge they have about the kittens in the future as they seemed to have just started doing this on there own.

1-Star Review - PetSmart, 1301 Oak Forest Lane, Myrtle Beach…read more I visited this location around 7:00 PM to purchase several dog items. Because I am not familiar with the store layout, I politely asked an employee for help locating specific products. The employee, who indicated he was overseeing the store that evening, responded with visible irritation. When I returned to ask for clarification on an item I could not find, he raised his voice and stated, "You dashers need to look around and find things yourself." There were only a few customers in the store at the time, and my request was polite and reasonable. The interaction felt unnecessarily hostile and dismissive. As a paying customer, I expect basic professionalism and courtesy when asking for assistance. I left feeling that the treatment I received was unfair and, frankly, biased. No customer should feel uncomfortable simply for asking for help locating merchandise. I hope corporate leadership reviews management conduct at this location and ensures all customers are treated with equal respect.

I can only comment on the clinic. Very organized. Very fair pricing. I've taken numerous rescue…read morepups and have had very good luck with them. They are short staffed/volunteers. They are doing their best. They just reopened their clinic with online appointments so I tried it out and taking my new pup today for shots. I've never been inside. I'm too afraid I'll leave with more than I can handle. Happy 50th Anniversary!!!

I adopted a dog from GSHS in March of last year. Later that year I fell and broke my right ankle…read moreand a metatarsal head. I tried for at least 2 months to take care of my dog. I had trained her a lot and was glad to have her. But there came a time when I could not take care of her the way she needed. I couldn't walk her or let her out to do her business because I couldn't walk. My neighbor was walking her for a while. I was in a boot for 10 days then my doctor put me in a cast for 4 weeks. After 5 weeks I had to wear the boot again. All the while I could not walk. While in the boot I knew I had to make other plans. Since I am alone I knew that I would have to take her back because I was not able to take care of her. After the employee took her she told me that I WOULD NOT be able to adopt another dog, their policy is if a dog is returned, you cannot adopt from them again. I told them that I had no way of taking care of her so I thought this was the best thing for her. Obviously not. This was not a return just because I didn't want the dog. I was not physically able to care for her. That didn't make any sense to me. I wanted the dog, but was handicapped too long. It took me over 9 months before I could walk without pain. So now I have to try again to find a dog that fits my lifestyle and my capabilities. Not an easy task but I really hope I find one soon.
