I LOVE MUD PUPPIES!! At any chance I have I will 100% be recommending to friends and family! I went…read morethere today to groom my German Shepherd, and I walked in and was welcomed with warm smiles! They walked me through the whole process and made sure I knew where everything was since I was coming there for my first time. I will say my FAVORITE part about this place is they have a place to hook your dog's leash to as you fill out some information! They also were extremely kind and were patient while my German Shepherd threw a hissy fit while doing his nails. That was another favorite part too, due to the fact that my dog hates getting his nails done and can be quite fidgety and pretty vocal and not everyone is so kind about it. Speaking of vocal, they were extremely kind about him being a little vocal at times when he wanted to speak his mind during his bath! We had a verity of shampoos and leave in conditioners as well! For my big 75-80 lbs German Shepherd, bathing, drying, brushing, ear cleaning wipes, and dental wipes, it was only $21!! Overall, a beautiful setup and place! Will definitely be back again!!

Every city needs a business like this. You can get your dog licensed, trained, washed and properly fed here. My dog's only 20 pounds so it may take awhile!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT PETSMART. I have had issues with them in the past, and why on earth I…read moredecided to give them a second chance, I have no idea. I paid for a full groom ( a little over $50) for my small Yorkie., which is supposed to include his nails being cut. I was in a hurry when I picked him up, so I didn't notice that they had not been done. A few days later when he came walking up to me on the tile floor, I noticed his nails were laying SIDEWAYS on the floor, because they were so long! I called Petsmart and explained the situation, and a very nice person on the other end of the phone said - no problem, just bring him back up and we will do them for you. I couldn't go the day I called, and went a few days later. When I walked in, the girl who had groomed him was there. I again explained the situation and what I was told... and she instantly copped an attitude with me, insisted she did them and became very defensive and rude. I said "Listen, I don't appreciate the attitude you are giving me. I just explained to you what was told to me". She told me she would not do them - she refused - and then turned and spoke on behave of the other young employee standing there and said she refused to do them as well! Alrighty then!! I explained I paid for a service, and I expect to get what I paid for. She proceeded to call her manager, all the while being completely rude to me. When he entered the room he took the exact same attitude with me before he fully understood the situation. He said I needed to bring my dog on the day I called, and that too much time had gone by (it's been a week since I called). He instantly took to her defense and was very dismissive of me. I had said to both of them "look at his toes, they speak for themselves " to which they said they didn't need to look at them... because they were done. I said listen, this isn't my first rodeo... I've been getting my dog groomed for 14 years. I think I know when his nails have not been cut. To which this 22 yr old something snapped at me and said "I think I know what I've been doing, I've been grooming for years". Bottom line - Petsmart needs better management, and a better screening process for employees. I've have owned many businesses, and if I EVER witnessed one of my employees speaking to a customer the way this employee was speaking to me... I would have fired them on the spot - no questions asked. I will never spend a dollar in that store again... and not only have I had dogs groomed there for several years, I would buy my dog supplies there as well. If you are looking for grooming.... there are several local groomers who would love your business and treat you much better. That's how you keep customers!

I just recently boarded my dogs at the Girard location for the second time. They were boarded for 7 days and when my husband picked them up, no issues were mentioned.. this was expected since we didn't have any issues a few months ago when they were boarded here and have never had any issues with their behavior at any other boarding facilities. They are very socialized dogs. I later noticed that our bill was $100 higher than expected.. $600 instead of $500.. After calling, I was told by the owner that the dogs had been separated for unknown reasons so I was charged for 2 separate kennels. This was a shock to me since it was not communicated whatsoever.. I had further questions as to why they were separated and I did not feel heard or understood by the owner. My concerns were dismissed and I was told to call back and talk to the business manager when she was back the next morning since she may be able to tell me why.. Later that night I received a generic email notification that the extra charge was refunded. The manager called the next day and explained that my dogs were barking at other dogs passing by and roughhousing with each other, which led to the separation & relocation for safety reasons on the day they arrived. I understand the need for safety, however, rough housing and barking at other dogs is very typical behavior for german shepherds.. it is to be expected when first arriving in a new environment full of dogs. I was told that it is in the boarding contract that they have the right to separate the dogs. The last time I boarded them I was told they were very well behaved so this was all quite surprising to me. My dogs are best friends and the last thing I would want to do is have them be boarded in separate kennels for a week.. especially at an additional charge. All of these factors combined, I don't recommend this boarding facility for those with large energetic dogs. The communication issue was disappointing. I do appreciate that they refunded me the $100 charge due to the miscommunication, however being met with empathy by the owner would've made a huge difference to me. Leaving our dogs behind is hard enough for us, worrying about them barking at other dogs from their kennel or rough housing with each other is the last thing I want to be concerned about when boarding so I will not be returning.

When I arrived to pick him up the owner told me he had been pooping a lot during his stay. I just assumed it was a nervous tummy and no big deal. When they brought him out he looked a little wet and I assumed he had been out playing in water because it was 90 degrees. I scooped him up and went out to allow the next guest in (only one dog is permitted in the office at a time, which I actually like.) Once I got outside in the sun I realized he had dried poop caked all over him. It was around his eyes and ears and caked on his butt so thick that it needed to be cut out with scissors when I got him home. He's a fluffy guy, and I understand he's more likely to get messy. But this was SEVERAL DAYS of poop. Had anyone spent any time with him at all during the week, someone would have noticed. The forms I signed clearly stated that any animal that gets dirty will be bathed, kennels are cleaned regularly, and no pets go home dirty. This is obviously separate from the optional grooming services they offer. His eyes were horribly crusted with boogers, his paws crusted with poop, his nose is scraped, and he has a fever. I called and spoke with Patty the owner on my way home who said they didn't wash him because I opted out of grooming. That is absurd and neglectful. It was after I got him home and bathed that I realized he can barely walk from total lack of exercise (which confirms that he was not given any attention.) He is currently lying next to me trembling and whimpering. It is heartbreaking that a place would allow this to happen to a sweet little animal that they were trusted to care for. Horrible.
