DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT PETSMART. I have had issues with them in the past, and why on earth I…read moredecided to give them a second chance, I have no idea. I paid for a full groom ( a little over $50) for my small Yorkie., which is supposed to include his nails being cut. I was in a hurry when I picked him up, so I didn't notice that they had not been done. A few days later when he came walking up to me on the tile floor, I noticed his nails were laying SIDEWAYS on the floor, because they were so long! I called Petsmart and explained the situation, and a very nice person on the other end of the phone said - no problem, just bring him back up and we will do them for you. I couldn't go the day I called, and went a few days later. When I walked in, the girl who had groomed him was there. I again explained the situation and what I was told... and she instantly copped an attitude with me, insisted she did them and became very defensive and rude. I said "Listen, I don't appreciate the attitude you are giving me. I just explained to you what was told to me". She told me she would not do them - she refused - and then turned and spoke on behave of the other young employee standing there and said she refused to do them as well! Alrighty then!! I explained I paid for a service, and I expect to get what I paid for. She proceeded to call her manager, all the while being completely rude to me. When he entered the room he took the exact same attitude with me before he fully understood the situation. He said I needed to bring my dog on the day I called, and that too much time had gone by (it's been a week since I called). He instantly took to her defense and was very dismissive of me. I had said to both of them "look at his toes, they speak for themselves " to which they said they didn't need to look at them... because they were done. I said listen, this isn't my first rodeo... I've been getting my dog groomed for 14 years. I think I know when his nails have not been cut. To which this 22 yr old something snapped at me and said "I think I know what I've been doing, I've been grooming for years". Bottom line - Petsmart needs better management, and a better screening process for employees. I've have owned many businesses, and if I EVER witnessed one of my employees speaking to a customer the way this employee was speaking to me... I would have fired them on the spot - no questions asked. I will never spend a dollar in that store again... and not only have I had dogs groomed there for several years, I would buy my dog supplies there as well. If you are looking for grooming.... there are several local groomers who would love your business and treat you much better. That's how you keep customers!

He was at the shelter for around six weeks. Lots of people looked at him, but he would growl and cower in the corner. He did want to be touched. Bruno is a Pomeranian Chihuahua mix. Sometimes you need to be aware of the breed you are adopting, understand the animal has been traumatized, and show a lot of love and patience. I was told Bruno would not allow me to pick him up, was unsocialized, and hated to go for car rides. When I open my car door, I said Bruno want to go for a ride he jumped right in, Bruno loves to go for rides. He is housebroken, he smiles and many times people think he is showing teeth but that's not the case. His previous owners said they did not have enough time for him. It showed! I'm sure Bruno was kept in a crate all day long. He loves to roam the house, sleeps in the bed with me, is extremely protective of me. He has turned into a cuddle Buddy. He listens really well, loves baths And gets along extremely well with other dogs. After a little time, effort and training, Bruno is now my emotional support dog and goes everywhere with me. I am very grateful the Anna Shelter took Bruno in. Many kill shelters kill owner surrender dogs first. Each day I had Bruno, a little more of his personality came out. He has turned out to be an amazing companion and I feel very blessed to have him in my life. Thank you for giving Bruno a second chance. He has found his forever home.

I just recently boarded my dogs at the Girard location for the second time. They were boarded for 7 days and when my husband picked them up, no issues were mentioned.. this was expected since we didn't have any issues a few months ago when they were boarded here and have never had any issues with their behavior at any other boarding facilities. They are very socialized dogs. I later noticed that our bill was $100 higher than expected.. $600 instead of $500.. After calling, I was told by the owner that the dogs had been separated for unknown reasons so I was charged for 2 separate kennels. This was a shock to me since it was not communicated whatsoever.. I had further questions as to why they were separated and I did not feel heard or understood by the owner. My concerns were dismissed and I was told to call back and talk to the business manager when she was back the next morning since she may be able to tell me why.. Later that night I received a generic email notification that the extra charge was refunded. The manager called the next day and explained that my dogs were barking at other dogs passing by and roughhousing with each other, which led to the separation & relocation for safety reasons on the day they arrived. I understand the need for safety, however, rough housing and barking at other dogs is very typical behavior for german shepherds.. it is to be expected when first arriving in a new environment full of dogs. I was told that it is in the boarding contract that they have the right to separate the dogs. The last time I boarded them I was told they were very well behaved so this was all quite surprising to me. My dogs are best friends and the last thing I would want to do is have them be boarded in separate kennels for a week.. especially at an additional charge. All of these factors combined, I don't recommend this boarding facility for those with large energetic dogs. The communication issue was disappointing. I do appreciate that they refunded me the $100 charge due to the miscommunication, however being met with empathy by the owner would've made a huge difference to me. Leaving our dogs behind is hard enough for us, worrying about them barking at other dogs from their kennel or rough housing with each other is the last thing I want to be concerned about when boarding so I will not be returning.

Our shih tzu spent nine days here after reading plenty of positive reviews and hearing good things…read morefrom friends. When I arrived to pick him up the owner told me he had been pooping a lot during his stay. I just assumed it was a nervous tummy and no big deal. When they brought him out he looked a little wet and I assumed he had been out playing in water because it was 90 degrees. I scooped him up and went out to allow the next guest in (only one dog is permitted in the office at a time, which I actually like.) Once I got outside in the sun I realized he had dried poop caked all over him. It was around his eyes and ears and caked on his butt so thick that it needed to be cut out with scissors when I got him home. He's a fluffy guy, and I understand he's more likely to get messy. But this was SEVERAL DAYS of poop. Had anyone spent any time with him at all during the week, someone would have noticed. The forms I signed clearly stated that any animal that gets dirty will be bathed, kennels are cleaned regularly, and no pets go home dirty. This is obviously separate from the optional grooming services they offer. His eyes were horribly crusted with boogers, his paws crusted with poop, his nose is scraped, and he has a fever. I called and spoke with Patty the owner on my way home who said they didn't wash him because I opted out of grooming. That is absurd and neglectful. It was after I got him home and bathed that I realized he can barely walk from total lack of exercise (which confirms that he was not given any attention.) He is currently lying next to me trembling and whimpering. It is heartbreaking that a place would allow this to happen to a sweet little animal that they were trusted to care for. Horrible.

This place is worse than bad from the pet service to the customer service! My heart is literally broken that I didn't read the reviews because the SAME GROOMER who messed all these dogs up in these reviews and went against the owner's wishes, did the same to mine as well. I have been in tears since I left Paws & Claws on Wednesday. I have a GIRL shih tzu that I was VERY, VERY SPECIFIC when I went in to NOT CUT HER HAIR. I even asked the front desk man to get the groomer so I could explain to her personally, and pointed out to both of them that she has black tips that if they're cut will never grow back because the roots are tan.) I explained specifically to the groomer DO NOT TOUCH A STRAND of her hair with a tan root, and that I just wanted her hair TIED* BACK* WITH A BOW, NOOOO CUTTING. When I came to get my dog, no bow, and HER WHOLE FACE AND HEAD IS CUT!!! She looks like a boy. Her forehead had beautiful long hair with black tips- GONE FOREVER, against everything I said. The name of the groomer who ruined my dog is Korrine but spelled differently like Carryn or something. KEEP YOUR DOG FAR FROM HER! She literally looked me in my eyes, nodded her head, and agreed the whole time I was talking and explaining to NOT CUT MY PUPPY'S HAIR to then take my Princess back and VIOLATE HER AND I !!!! FOREVER! My dogs black tips are gone forever, and I pretty much paid $100 to cry myself to sleep. When I called the manager in tears, and explained that if someone came up behind me and cut my hair with some scissors they'd be in JAIL, the manager actually said "well you'd be in jail too, because you'd probably fruitpunch on them." GLAD you comprehend! So, if someone were come in and fruitpunch on Corryn or cut her hair against her will like she did my dog, there's some understanding there. My heart is literally broken, and it can NEVER be undone. It can't be fixed. They just took my money for the worst day of my dogs life, affecting her forever, because they genuinely do NOT CARE what the OWNER wants. They wouldn't even have the girl APOLOGIZE. They just do whatever they feel like doing with no remorse for anything your poor pup endures.. She had ONE instruction. Just one. And it wasn't followed. My poor Remi I'm still crying. I paid a lot of money for my dog and they ruined her beautiful coat I paid so much money for. If you google "shih tzu" and see the picture that comes up, the dogs head isn't all shaved, it's beautifully pulled back LIKE I SPECIFIEDDD AND PAIDDDDD FOR, I don't even know what would make her deliberately go against my orders and cut my dogs hair ! I'm baffled. This is like taking your daughter who is a hair model to a high rated salon to get her hair washed, explaining how much you treasure her long beautiful hair..then they cut it off and shave her eyebrows. I'm livid. A civil suit is being filed this morning. I've contacted them twice since, and not even an apology. No sympathy. No compassion. understanding. Very harsh, sick minded environment to think this is ok. :(
