I love this store. LOVE…read more I'm from Boston, so naturally there's a Whole Foods and a Trader Joe's in most towns within the Greater Boston area, and I am very used to that. Imagine my surprise when I found Healthy Living Market in Saratoga!! It's an awesome market and they have everything I need and more. The cafe has yummy sandwiches, cheeses and desserts. Their gluten free offerings are off the charts amazing and whenever I'm in the area I always stop in to stock up on Nut Pods, Simple Mills and any other goodies I see. Staff are excellent and the vibe is pretty chill. Definitely sign up for their rewards program!

Their aisles are well organized, roomy, and easy to navigate. Their pre-prepared items look fantastic. They use quality oils like olive oil etc - in many of their pre-prepared/store made food items (yay) They have a plethora of vegan, gluten-free, keto, paleo, sugar-free items etc. They carry a diverse array of items ranging from kids toys, supplements, holiday decor etc. I was beaming the whole time I explored this store and manifested some easy to pack protein snacks for my flight home. If you live in Saratoga Springs or happen to be traveling in the area - be sure to stop into this healthy haven. So many fun fresh and flavorful finds! Trust.

I had a hard time finding certain things that I like to have on hand such as vegan marshmallows. I do not want to eat regular marshmallows since they contain gelatin which is made from animal hides, boiled crushed bones, and the connective tissues of cows and pigs. I find this process absolutely repulsive and stopped eating gelatin long before I chose a vegan lifestyle. When I began my search for better options, I stumbled upon this unique spot in Clifton Park. Green grocer always has Dandies marshmallows and also Enjoy Life vegan rice milk chocolate bars. I get these to make s'mores. I can always count on this great store to have many wonderful specialty options for people with special dietary needs and for people choosing to eat different diets or are concerned with the ethics of the factory farming industry. They do have meat and dairy options from carefully selected farms. I don't know a lot about it since I don't eat it but I would imagine these are better options than conventional grocery store meat. I'd encourage anyone to check out this great store. It's not far from exit 8A in Clifton park, south of Walmart in the same plaza as Nonna Maria's. It is wonderful to support local small business while also discovering things that you won't find at conventional grocery stores.

A friend who misses The Bread Butler, maybe even more than I, told me that there was an excellent…read moresourdough bread being baked by Anicca Bakery in Troy and sold at the Honest Weight Co-op. I was at the Co-op the next day. A variety of their breads are located in a shelf display across the aisle from all the other breads. I saw sandwich rolls, French baguettes, plain sourdough, three seeds sourdough, whole wheat sourdough, plain challah, everything topped challah, and a couple of variations that I don't recall. Some of the loaves are also available in half-loaf sizes. I purchased a loaf of 3 Seed Sourdough ($8.69) and a loaf of Everything topped Challah ($7.29). Both are excellent in their own right. The 3 seeds on the sourdough are organic dry roasted pumpkin, organic dry roasted sunflower, and organic golden flax seeds. Anicca makes a point of stating that they make every attempt to obtain all their ingredients within 200 miles of the Troy bakery. The sourdough has a nice chewy crust and a decent sour flavor. The challah has a softer crust than the sourdough, just a bit of sweetness and a slightly lighter colored crumb. The challah is also double bagged for some reason. The loaf is placed in a plastic bag before it is placed in the outer paper bag. Maybe that was to protect the everything topping? If you visit their web page https://aniccabakery.com/ you will learn that you can order online and pickup your order at Alias Coffee Shop in Troy. You may also notice that their web page does not mention all the varieties of bread that I saw at the Co-op and shows a more limited production schedule. Maybe their web page is just not up to date. Another issue I ran into was knowing whether the bread was fresh. Glancing at the information on the label of my two choices, I saw that the sourdough was labeled as "Date Baked on10/29/25" (GREAT! That was today), while the challah was labeled as "Date Baked 10/30/25." WAIT!!! How can that be? 10/30/25 is not until TOMORROW!!! I checked several other packages and found that all the packages of challah were labeled with tomorrow's date. As an aside, does that mean I wouldn't be able to eat the challah until tomorrow? LOL Or better yet, if I eat it today does that mean the carbs don't exist yet? Still, LOL. In any event, a Co-op employee noticed my confusion and insisted on informing management while wondering if this meant the sourdough could have actually been sitting on the shelf since 10/28/25. Today or not, but probably tomorrow also, both breads were excellent. I'm looking forward to trying a whole wheat sourdough.

The store was organized, carried a large variety of items, and amazing bulk section. Every associate I interacted with was also friendly and helpful. Until then, I'll continue to stop in as I come back to visit the area.

I also heard they are partnering up for the wing walk this year, so I will be looking forward to seeing what that collaboration holds. Dilly Bean has a great variety of products in their store, definitely on the healthier side - and priced reasonably. Today i stopped in to get a container of their delicious chicken salad which only cost $6. Good to eat on a sandwich or with a fork right out of the container - you will be a repeat customer after trying this recipe. I personally love the strong taste of dill in the chicken salad, one of my favorite ingredients. You gotta love supporting local businesses, but it's always an added bonus when their products are as fantastic as the Dilly Bean. Check it out next time you're in Schenectady, you won't be disappointed. Apparently, they also have daily soups - good until they run out for the day. As a lover of all things soup, I will be trying that and updating my review accordingly!
