The ticket prices here are higher than other cinemas with the standard adult 2D ticket costing over £10 and IMAX costing a whopping £16.20. There is no box office at this cinema meaning that tickets have to be purchased from automated machines (card only) or the snack counter. Although the cinema was not busy by any stretch of the imagination, I did have to wait a substantial amount of time to be served as there were only one or two members of staff serving (both tickets and refreshments) at any one time. There was the usual selection of snacks available and we ordered a large popcorn to share. There was also a small Costa Coffee in the entrance area which served a great range of coffee and treats. The actual theatre was a nice size (if an unusual layout) and the seats were very comfortable. Everything at the cinema indicated newness which was a nice change from the other well used multiplex's in Birmingham. The screen was the perfect size and the volume level was set just right for a children's film. While we did enjoy the film, the cinematic experience was in no way outstanding. Taking into consideration the higher ticket price I am left only able to offer four stars.

It is reasonably priced and they have friendly staff. I really like how massive the screens are and you can really relax in their comfortable seats. I give it four stars because my friend wanted to order some dessert and they were out of a lot of the items available. Overall, a great movie theatre and a good experience! I had a great time here and will definitely be back! :)

Most are now sad and hollowed out relics, home to carpet warehouses and luxury flats, so the Regal is a cherishable oddity - and a lovely reminder of a largely lost era. Does it have the biggest screen? The loudest sound system? The biggest buckets of pop corn? Nein. However, does it have architectural merit, charm and - above all - atmosphere. Now, admittedly, this atmosphere is generated in part by the kind of seating arrangement that predates the obesity crisis - and you might struggle for elbow room if you are bigger than, say, Danny Devito, but this kind of cheek-by-jowel feel is the perfect way to see a big summer Event Movie. We took in the last Harry Potter film here and the combination of steeply angled seating, old style uplighting and physical closeness to our fellow viewers helped to create a genuine sense of sharing the experience with other people. As mentioned, this comes at a cost: if you're a tubster, or suffer from deep-vein thrombosis, or if you are one of the people we seem to have bred of late who don't like being in proximity to other people, then you'd probably be better off seeking a dreary, out-of-town multiplex. Otherwise, to see how we kicked it back in the old skool, there probably aren't many better examples left in the country.
