The second smaller screen is very intimate and is enjoyable when it is quite empty but I find it quite annoying if it is full up and there are people chatting or messing around. This is my one complaint about this cinema, I have seen quite a bit of silly behaviour from groups of teenagers and I know that this can be difficult for staff to deal with. I do much prefer this cinema to the big cineworld in Ashford for atmosphere and price, the only reason we would go to ashford is if the film we wnted to see wasn't on in Folkestone.

The seats in the larger theatre are a little small and uncomfortable but the ones in the right hand theatre have been replaced. What I love about this place is they still have a reasonable policy on charging for popcorn and sweets its only a little more than the shops, whereas at the larger multiplexes you end up paying more for a drink and pop corn than you did for the theatre tickets. This place is never a busy as a multiplex and its great for when you want to go to a new release film but cant be doing with the crowds at the multiplexes. Friendly staff, although it is upstairs so not good if you are disabled or need help.

A standard ticket is very expensive at around £12 a ticket. So for £17.50 a month you can become a Cineworld member and will have unlimited movies and 10% of food and drink. When to have this card you can book online. The trailers last generally for around about 30 minutes so you can always get in and watch the movie even if you're late. Free parking outside which gets filled up at peak times very quickly.

I regularly go on Wednesdays with my friends. Orange have a promotion called Orange Wednesdays where Orange customers can get two cinema tickets for the price of one. It makes the prices more bearable. There can be busy queues for tickets but if it's a big name blockbuster it's probably worth waiting a week or even two. The other bargain offer they have is the Saturday morning kids club. Each week they have a selection of kids films for £1 each, including adults. They always have plenty of booster seats and the kids are always happy! The only downside like most big chain cinemas is that the food and drink is really expensive and they prohibit you from bringing your own. If you're not too bothered or are prepared to smuggle your own stuff in then it's not a problem.

We went to see 500 Days of Summer (also excellent by the way!) and I gasped out loud as I walked into the Screen. It was HUGE! The screen was tremendous and there were approx a gazillion seats. Lovely, modern, clean, wonderful image quality, superb audio. Tremendous all around. I am not sure if it was due to the quality of the film or the superiority of the cinema design but despite the size it was a very intimate and personal experience. Sweet popcorn was great too. (Yes the cardboard style popcorn, whatever! Judge me :) ) I wish it was nearer London but as I often travel to Oxford I'll be making a stop here on my way past as often as I can. Due to being in the Eden shopping centre there are plenty of restaurants, shops & starbucks about too... ps. I had a hotdog!! I hadn't eaten for ages and the staff looked like they could do with some help meeting their sales targets. They were nice. It also has cheap Tuesday tickets and an unlimited scheme when for £12 a month you can see as many films as you like. As it has 12 screens it shows a really good choice of films with lots of showings every day. The food is pricey as it is in all cinemas but no one forces us to buy it. Unfortunately you do have to pay to park but it is cheaper after 6pm.

Instead security were fed-up with the behaviour of the manager and asked us to complain to the company Vue and the shopping centre. It has now been made over as a local arts venue and theatre which is a really great addition to thee seafront. The Georgian church building is over 175 years old and grade 2 listed. It was designed i think by Joseph Kaye for the earl of Chichester. It has a circular auditorium so really good acoustics It reopened in 1997. i have only attende church services and once for cinema as I no longer live in the town, but it is well worth keeping an eye on.

It's much less busy during Autumn and Winter (as you'd expect in a seaside resort town).

We are new to the area and the Picture House a local business that serves us really well. It is well proportioned and a great place to see anything from an independent film to a blockbuster.
