It makes the prices more bearable. There can be busy queues for tickets but if it's a big name blockbuster it's probably worth waiting a week or even two. The other bargain offer they have is the Saturday morning kids club. Each week they have a selection of kids films for £1 each, including adults. They always have plenty of booster seats and the kids are always happy! The only downside like most big chain cinemas is that the food and drink is really expensive and they prohibit you from bringing your own. If you're not too bothered or are prepared to smuggle your own stuff in then it's not a problem.

My partner and I love sitting at the back, its a simple treat that cheers us both up. The second smaller screen is very intimate and is enjoyable when it is quite empty but I find it quite annoying if it is full up and there are people chatting or messing around. This is my one complaint about this cinema, I have seen quite a bit of silly behaviour from groups of teenagers and I know that this can be difficult for staff to deal with. I do much prefer this cinema to the big cineworld in Ashford for atmosphere and price, the only reason we would go to ashford is if the film we wnted to see wasn't on in Folkestone.

The seats in the larger theatre are a little small and uncomfortable but the ones in the right hand theatre have been replaced. What I love about this place is they still have a reasonable policy on charging for popcorn and sweets its only a little more than the shops, whereas at the larger multiplexes you end up paying more for a drink and pop corn than you did for the theatre tickets. This place is never a busy as a multiplex and its great for when you want to go to a new release film but cant be doing with the crowds at the multiplexes. Friendly staff, although it is upstairs so not good if you are disabled or need help.

A standard ticket is very expensive at around £12 a ticket. So for £17.50 a month you can become a Cineworld member and will have unlimited movies and 10% of food and drink. When to have this card you can book online. The trailers last generally for around about 30 minutes so you can always get in and watch the movie even if you're late. Free parking outside which gets filled up at peak times very quickly.

It's a really lovely intimate setting - quite small so regardless of where you end up sitting you have a great view of the screen. Also pretty impressed with their selection of films - it's nice to see some smaller productions every once in a while. Tickets are a little pricey (£13) but I do think that it's worth it if you want the convenience of total comfort and relaxation.

Well, at The Aubin Cinema they are. :) Downstairs of the fancy clothing store Aubin and Wills, the Aubin Cinema is a cinema lover's delight. You book ahead of time to get comfy lounge chairs or loveseats and can settle into watching a great indie film with a a beer in hand. The flicks are 13 quid a pop but that's about how much they cost everywhere else and you don't get fancy seats with all the rest! PERFECT date spot!

Dear Mr Allwood, I thought I should report the really poor experience I had at your cinema this evening at the hands of your manager Emily Coupland. I don't usually do things like this but I'm a fan of independent cinemas and believe Emily is doing you a disservice. I booked three tickets and then an extra one ticket for my step daughter (26), my daughter Esme (15) and her friend Molly (15). This was to see Knock Cabin which the girls were really looking forward to. They were excited and actually came in to use your toilets before we went for supper. When we returned to watch the film we were given our tickets only to then be 'pounced on' and questioned about the two younger girls ages. I confirmed they were over 15 however this wasn't accepted. We were then told they needed to produce 'ID cards' or that their mother (away on holiday) should send copies of passports. What 15 year olds carry ID cards?! The above was tantamount to telling me I was a liar. Having travelled from Lewes via Haywards Heath to pick up my stepdaughter and then do the journey in return I can safely say our whole evening has been ruined. To add insult to injury, despite remaining polite and courteous, your manager could barely suppress her smile while she refunded the tickets. Perhaps something happened when the girls came into use your toilets? Perhaps Emily just took a dislike to them for some reason? I appreciate she has a right to question their ages but to in effect accuse a father of lying seems excessive. I'll be leaving a review accordingly. Perhaps you should consider a new and more personable manager? Let me know if you do and we might come back! Thanks

I used to be taken to the cinema at Burgess Hill a lot as a child and have fond memories of the…read moreplace. it was originally built in 1919 and has gone through a number of refurbishments since then. The most significant was the addition of a second screen in 1990. As the building is not that large you will find the smaller screen quite limited and this may not be the place for someone with claustrophobia!! They won't get the new releases quite as quickly as the mega-plexes of Brighton or Crawley, but the place does retain the independent charm of it's heritage. However, they only seem to be a week or two behind and for a cheaper rate (£5.50 for an adult) and deals on family tickets, still worth a visit. They also have a 'super 8' deal where you can buy 2 seats for £8 and may use it for 50 visits. Now that's a pretty good deal and if you live in Burgess Hill well worth investing in. It's not quite as alternative as venues such as the Duke of York, but seeing as big business seems to take over everything these days, I am pleased to see my childhood favourite still going strong.

Comfy couches, milkshakes to order and wait WHAT!? They sell a Washington wine?! F* Vue, I'm coming here the rest of my days. The Esher outfit has 4 screens, with Screen 1 being the biggest. It's a double decker with great sound and nice two person couch 'booths'. You can also order hot food in and bring alcohol into the cinema screen. Adults only, no crying babies and giggly teens? Heck. Yes. Sadly two things knock this place down to a 4* vs a 5*. Firstly, staff service here is very hit and miss. Very young staff meaning texting / giggling amongst each other can sometimes come above a waiting customer. Additionally, the screens are quite different in terms of comfy rating. Screen 2 has little footrests that mimic say a sofa/coffee table at home, whilst Screen 1 doesn't, which does make it lose just that little bit of comfiness for a long movie. Also, weirdly enough, end booths in Screen 1 don't have a table or a perch, meaning the person closest to the aisle has got to either put their drink on the ground (watch the spillage!) or hold it the entire time... Not ideal. However, it's still a much better (read: Expensive) experience, but I'd take this any day over a Vue (or the Vue in Staines) as it's closer, more intimate and caters to insolently intolerant people like me.

Four screens, each screen room different but all have comfy couches, chairs and tables, the sound is excellent too. The cinema was spotless and a notch up in decoration, comfort, style and class from your usual Vue and Odeon cinemas. I found the staff helpful. As it was not busy I did not have to wait to be served. We ordered the vanilla and peanut butter milkshake, v nice. As the film started our pizzas were delivered to us. We ordered the margherita and special pizza. The chap taking the order wasn't sure of exactly what the special pizza was said it was ham and capers. I quizzed him a little more and he said Palma ham. Got to say although not large in size they did taste delish and I would not hesitate to have them again. It felt weird eating watching the movie but a great weird, I could get use to this. I was so impressed with the whole experience I became a member as I will be going back to watch more films at this fab place. It is more expensive but it's worth it. Oh yes I will xoxo
