Dr oden insisted our dog was severely ill and needed to be put down. Claimed to do 400 dollars worth of tests. We felt in our gut dr oden was out to do nothing but get money from us. We are traumatized by this. We told my 11 year old our dog would have to be put down and she begged us to reconsider. If we hadn't listened to our good judgment chopper would be dead. Dr. Oden deserves to lose his license for this injustice. Shame on him. Not just that his staff are weird, creepy, and rude also out to squeeze every penny out of animal lovers. read more

I would give this place a 0 if it would let me. My Dog is still alive after Doctor suggested we put him to sleep. The doctor couldn't even figure out what was wrong with the dog so said it was his time to go. We really didn't think it was time for the dog to die so we went home instead. We spent over $400 for the vet to tell us the dog is dying. Now it's over 2 months and the dog is doing better than he was before he got sick and we took him to this vet clinic please do not go to this place or listen to what the vet has to say please be aware that this Doctor will steal your money and kill your dog all in one trip. I love this practice. We love their doctors and staff. They've taken care of our dogs for years. After a tough diagnosis of our senior dog, we made the tough decision to put him down. It was an emotional time and their staff was incredible with their explanation of the process and the support, care and time needed to navigate the loss. This clinic will take animals to the back out of personal view and state they provide medical care to animals, without proof or guarantee that they did something. My dog had an ear infection I paid for the most expensive treatment because they suggested it would take care of the infection and be the most effective without having to give antibiotics daily. I called within a week after the cleaning to explain her head was still tilted to the side and she was experiencing discomfort, they said to wait 2 weeks. After the two weeks her head was still tilted and I called the vet and they said I would have to start all over again with a diagnosis. They realized within 1 minute of seeing her that she had an infection because of the excessive tilting to the side. This vets main priority is money then the animals. First experience with Oden, and we were VERY impressed. Very nice facility, clean and smells great. Staff, from the front desk to the vet, we're very friendly and helpful and really seemed to care about our dog. Prices were also reasonable compared to other vets here in town. I do not recommend this veterinary clinic and I feel that my baby would still be alive if we had gone elsewhere. I regrettably took the close transfer recommendation offered by the ER vet hospital located next door. After an acute gastritis misdiagnosis by Dr. Vree we requested an urgent follow up appointment with Dr. Oden who also misdiagnosed my poor bulldog with a large liver mass and ascites. A necropsy was preformed by a reputable institution with NO evidence of a mass anywhere. Histopathology also showed ZERO evidence of a mass. We have requested the imaging we paid in full for and have been denied access to our rightful property multiple times. I can not fathom why a referral to a specialist was not facilitated since the staff at Oden Veterinary Hospital obviously lacked the skill to provide accurate diagnostic testing and a proper diagnosis. My happy bulldog passed in a matter of days from the onset of illness. The only response I would like from this company is the contact information for their attorney. read more

We took our little girl in to them never being there before, looked at our baby and knew exactly what she needed. They jumped right in and fixed her up. Such an awesome experience today with Dr. Oden! I showed up 15 minutes early for the appointment and the receptionist got us in right away. The vet tech was super friendly and so gentle with my puppy. Dr. Oden was amazing and so informative! My puppy is only 7 weeks and they were all great with her. Best part is the price point! By far my favorite vet I've ever met, yet alone let take care of my baby. My little girl is only 5months and timid of everything, adding to it this was her first vet visit. but Dr. Oden and his amazing helper spent so much time to try to get her to warm up. They were so patient and kind with her it made me stupid happy. The check up was quick and easy and he talked to me like a normal person and explained things really well instead of talking to me like I was stupid. Best vet clinic ever!! Best vet too. My wife had Dr. Oden as one of her prayers preceptors during her Vet Tech class. She really loved being around him, learning from. We've been taking our dogs here for a few years now. He's always taken great care. My wife also really wants to work for him too, like really, really, really bad!!! I took my dog to several vets in the Dallas/Fort Worth, 3 vets in New Mexico & one other in Lubbock. None could really pin point his source of pain. I had to keep him on continuous pain killers. On the recommendation of the groomer I took him to Dr. Oden. In a matter of minutes he diagnose the problem! Dr. Oden took care of my cats and then my puppy while he was at another facility. He left and I was soooo sad to not have him available for my babies. He did dental cleaning, routine check ups and diagnostics tests when my kitty became very ill. He was kind and caring when the end came for my kitty. He is the one I took my new puppy to and got him up to date and was wonderful (Leo was 1 1/2 years old). I am delighted to say that he is back in Lubbock and has his own place. I took my puppy, Leo, to see him today. The same caring and professional vet he still is I'm happy to say. Also, his prices are so much more reasonable than his old facility.
