And also why am I paying someone to come see a job and talk about paying them more? And secondly, they quoted me 16,600 to build a 6ft wall and doorway in my (finished) basement, and hang 4 doors (which they decided they wanted to make smaller and take apart in a pretty much finish basement.... Which is pretty obscene. I've done a lot of work in past so it's pretty high up there. Would've given zero stars if I could, but one star would only be for the gentleman who showed up (and just works for the company and doing his job) was very nice and personable and also seemed knowledgeable. And I'm sure he is not the one making this huge upcharges in work. But overall I wouldn't recommend and also felt it was weird and sneaky to charge me after the estimate 80 dollars to come to my house to talk about the job. The company should be paying their workers for their time, or have them disclose and ask for the payment when they arrive so I could have the opportunity to decline. It was obvious that we didn't know much about construction, electric, sheetrock, etc. so he explained everything to my wife and I before purchasing materials or cutting holes in the walls. When he inevitably found problems in the walls since we purchased an older house-he explained what he was doing and made it easy to understand. They quickly installed our 50 inch TV and hid ALL of the wires AND cable box which was his idea since he's a perfectionist lol. The TV /mount is so sturdy I'm pretty sure If our house was knocked over...it would be the only thing still standing. Highly recommend JM General Repairs.
