    Sour flights today

A coworker turned me on to this cool brewery and kindly brought back 2 sours for me to try. I was tempted to review based on the quality of those but decided a visit was needed. The same person alerted us to the recent sour Saturday event and that was the catalyst for the trip here. Normally flights are not offered, but you can do small 7 oz pours to taste what's available. On this day 2 flights were offered based on the sours. The first was Charm( a plain or golden sour) cherry and the newest peach. The second flight was based on Chirp, a lighter sour that is good on its own, or flavored syrups are added to. We enjoyed both, the syrups are not sweet but added color and a slight taste to the Chirp. I think I liked the green Woodruff one best. We only had room for a few other tastes, the current IPA and a Belgian style saison, both good too. I joked with some friends that this is a biker brewery, as in bicycles! It's so close to the canal path that many seem to end their rides here. Although small inside, there's a great outdoor area complete with ice water jug to help yourself to. Dogs are allowed outside too! It was a little too busy for me to strike up a conversation with the owners whom I've heard are great. I look forward to more visits here as the tap list and seasons change, 4.5 stars for now.

Updated after third visit. It was always a breeze of fresh air to visit Odd Bird Brewing. It is a brewery, not a bar, so expect to taste their proudly-served beer selections. Space is very clean, well-maintained and decorated. I like the garage door and outdoor seating during warmer days. Among favorites are Amber lager, ale and Belgium saison, to name a few. Sometimes crowlers to go are vey limited, so great tastes and memories need to be left behind.

    Chirp w black currant syrup

Karen and Adam friendly as always. Service with a smile. I came for their Charm and ended up with a Chirp with black currant syrup. A delicious sour beer that was beautiful to look at with its pink champagne color. Will be back!

I absolutely love this place. This was recommended by our bartender at Lone Eagle. Stopped by after riding my bicycle on the D&R bike trail. The bartenders here are super nice and the beers are so delicious. Definitely coming back!!

I was doing the Winter/ Spring brew hopping and The Odd Bird Brewing was on my list to try. Once you go to one you have them stamp the booklet. Finish all 7 breweries by June 30th and you will receive a free mug. This place is definitely worth giving a try. There's a nice selection of beers whether it be sours, ales , or IPA's. The Old Bird Brewing does a really nice job with their beers. This place is unique because attached to the brewery is The Eagle Gas Station. You can park in any spot in front of the Eagle Gas Station, or at the Stockton Park or Prallsville Mill and walk via the Tow Path. The brewery itself, uses garage doors that open up into a room where you can purchase the beers or crowlers and then either sit inside, or go outside in the big tent that's attached. There is no food served here other then a few snacks like potato chips. You can order food and have it brought in or delivered. The staff is really nice and friendly. This is a family run business. The head brewer and owner Adam along with his wife, Karen do a great job in making everyone feel welcomed. I tried the One Odd Year 22- it was really good and sold out quickly. Monstrous Mad Beloved- it's a barrel cranberry sour. This too was really delicious. I love sour beers. I would suggest giving The Odd Bird Brewing a try.

Yay, Odd Bird! We stopped at three different breweries on our bike tour of the Delaware River, and my favorite beer of the day was the Berliner Weiss at Odd Bird. Odd Bird was is delicious and unsuspecting brewery in Stockton, NJ, and perfect for a top on a recent bike trip down the nearby Delaware River Canal Trail. We were drawn to this converted gas station spot while planning a day of biking because of it's proximity to the trail and their adorable merch. Yes - they have a unisex purple tee. My boyfriend has been seeking a purple brewery shirt for months, but every other place either didn't have them or only made them in women's cuts. Odd Bird had one on their Instagram page, so of course we had to stop in for a pint...and a shirt. Unfortunately, the shirts were sold out in his size. Fortunately, the beer and atmosphere made up for it! I love the long wooden tables, the covered outdoor seating, and the feeling of community. I tried the Berliner Weiss and the Mumbletypeg, a Tavern Stout. There are lots of low- to mid-range ABV selections, which I appreciate. The Berliner Weiss was incredible - it was apple-y and refreshing, and I could sip it all day! A great summer beer. The Tavern Stout was really smooth and light - big fan! The bummer of Odd Bird, and every other brewery in NJ, is their limitations on food and non-beer beverages. My family member is gluten-free, so unfortunately, her visit to Odd Bird hinged on her bottle of water. I don't fault Odd Bird though, they're just trying to follow the rules. Great, clean brewery, great staff, delicious beer. Make a stop!

Odd Bird Brewing was the 108th brewery that I have visited in NJ, and I am going to all of them. They are located in part of a charming old gas station in one of the most beautiful parts of New Jersey, right along the Delaware River near Lambertville. That makes them comparable with Core3Brewery, which is the other brewery in NJ built inside a gas station building. The atmosphere works! Despite being a new brewery, their IPA's and the stout I tried tasted as if the brewery had been open much longer. They had a mature taste to them. I have certainly visited many new breweries in the state, where the beer needed improvement, but that's not the case here. The owner has experience brewing on another brewery's equipment before, as well as many years of home brewing experience. Maybe that's why. So, it's a good brewery for IPA's. If you would like beer to go, they sell crowlers. They just don't fill growlers because of quality control. But crowlers, which is a 32 oz can that they fill for you, will stay fresher longer. Currently all of their seating is outside under a medium-sized tent. You order from the window. The owners manage the seating really well and have everybody spaced out. You need to wear a mask when walking around and ordering, just not while enjoying their great beers. Odd Bird definitely appreciated my business, and that is very important to me.

He needed to…read morestop and pick up some supplies, and as this place was close to a spot where we met friends for lunch, we headed over. Artisan Home Brew is a business that has been here for quite some time, which says something in the era of home brew becoming popular, then fading from popularity. Lots of places sprung up during that time, then closed as demand dropped. That they have survived shows their dedication to the art of home brewing and their understanding of who their customer is and what they're looking for. This is not a fancy place, nor is it a place for people to stop and pick up a six pack. They don't sell beer, just all the ingredients and supplies, along with some supplies for wine making. They have some beginner supplies, kits and such, though this is a small part of their inventory. It's an old space with clean swept wooden floors and exposed beam ceilings, part of which have coasters from various craft breweries stapled. Shelves are unadorned, lined with various items, bins of different grains line one wall. The staff are quite knowledgable and friendly, with a club-like atmosphere where discussing the craft is as important, if not more important, then selling the product. Lion joined in on the banter, then made his purchase with a firm handshake and a thanks from both. I have a feeling this is going to become a place he visits often.

Joe, the owner, will talk your ears off and give you step by step directions for how to make beer. He's very friendly and knowledgable, and if you wanted to do it on the cheap, you could, or you could be like us and buy both the brewing kit ($75) and whichever beer ingredients you wanted as a kit (Russian Imperial Stout--$55). Most of the beers, btw, aren't so pricey, but we're fans of dark, rich, knock you on your butt beers. As a bonus, we found out that if we let the second fermentation go for 2 months, it will be smoother. And in 2 months I'll be able to drink again--YEAH! Perfect timing! All of the raw ingredients and supplies are sold here too, from buckets and bottles to bins of hops for your own special blend. And if you have any questions during the process, Joe will give you his email in order to answer your questions. It's nice to have an expert on hand who will let you know where the process is flexible and where it isn't, and how to use the measuring instruments so that you aren't completely overwhelmed once you unpack everything at home. As an added bonus, you get to see a side of Trenton most of us miss with giant mansions and gorgeous gardens which make you feel as though you've entered an alternate universe. One of the guys at the counter gave me a whole dumb thing about how he doesn't wear a mask (fyi, I was). The staff there is always friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Whether you know exactly what you are looking for or need recommendations, they are able to lead you exactly where you need to be. I made a stop in there this past weekend to inquire about specific microbrews. They had two of the 4 that I was looking for, which was impressive since they are relatively smaller micro breweries from the midwest. The employee that assisted me offered to see if he could order the other two in. I gave him my contact information, conditioned to not expect a phone call in the future since very few merchants go to that trouble for customers any longer. To my surprise, I received a call today informing me that he had an update on the one beer I'd requested. He wasn't able to get bottles in, but he could get a keg. Don't tempt me! ;-) The only thing that would make Brewer's Outlet better for me is if they provided an option for a mix and match case. They have such an unbelievable selection of beers from around the world, which I would love to try more of, but don't necessarily want to spend $35-$100 for an entire case of a beer that I may not enjoy. Monthly/Quarterly samplings would be a great addition/draw! http://brewersoutlet202.com
