I've been to other places to donate Plasma before I reached the Octapharma on Brice Road. I will not go to any other places to donate because this station has treated me wonderfully every time I've been here. Every employee treats me with care and respect on each and every visit. DeLaney always does her best to make me feel welcomed and as if I'm a great person just for donating my plasma. She definitely keeps me coming back. I definitely recommend more people to make donations at this Octapharma. read more

Octapharma Plasma is ok going there for awhile but after a while when they start taking samples of your blood to see if you are still eligible. They lose them and you have to keep going back give samples you are not able to donate. But they the one lost your blood sample This is unprofessional as hell. read more

As a former employee and donor at the Octapharma on Brice Rd, I honestly cannot recommend this location for a plethora of reasons, but I will attempt to simmer them down for this review. When it comes to donating you could probably find a better place. This location has mostly friendly, adequate screeners but very little of them and no security. Waiting to be stuck by a phlebotomist could take upward to an hour and sometimes more due to the general lack of staffing and I've donated at other centers such as CSL plasma who comparatively has three times the donors but finishes with screening in half the time on average while roughly paying out about the same amount of money. Furthermore, depending on the mood of management and if they are on the floor, you may not even receive adequate treatment once you've finally have made it to the donor beds. However, when it comes to being an employee here the energy in this location may feel disingenuous and that's mostly because it is. While I did have the pleasure of working with some genuinely hardworking and honest employees and supervisors across all positions, most of my gripes have come with having to work with the majority of management seems to be a roster composed almost entirely of personality hires and ingenuine ones at that. For a job that stresses communication from the get-go, management and payroll has all the communication skills of a teenager scorned in the sense that they will seldom ever effectively communicate anything of value to you unless you reach out every time even when they say they will, but they will find the time to gossip and speak badly on their own employees... Even to other employees who are not management; especially (but not exclusively) after that employee has departed from the center. While they have the skills to be passable at the very least in their performance of their jobs, they lack all the professionalism and leadership skills for people who are supposed to be running a center. Octapharma Plasma has a 6-point system for attendance that some of this center administrative staff just can't seem to remember clearly as assistant managers have had a history of "misremembering" the number of points that lead to termination with one assistant manager in particular even going out of her way to tell select employees termination would be at 10 points "temporarily" (which I would later find out was not the case) potentially sabotaging employees. I am unsurprised by this behavior, however, considering management in general seems to have a bad habit of disregarding blatant slander, exhibiting favoritism, and perpetuating mean-spirited gossip on top of miscommunicating and pretending as if they did not until it is brought up and they are confronted; although, unfortunately, this doesn't always yield accountability on their part. I also hope that if you decide to pursue a career here you will never require a paper check from this place as they have regularly lost paper checks for me and refused to communicate on the subject, giving the impression that paying me as their employee was an afterthought. The general lack of communication and refusal to take accountability for their mistakes blur the lines between gross incompetence and malicious negligence and I am inclined to believe it's the latter as they are more well-versed in gaslighting than they are communicating anything with anyone, including management, as payroll has had a history of fighting with management themselves in regard to losing employee money. I would even go further to say that this is the only job I've had where the company has lost my money multiple times. In conclusion, this Octapharma Plasma location has a lot of work to improve but I don't see any real efforts to improve externally, nor did I see any real improvements in my time of employment here which is ultimately the reason I chose to quit and the reason I don't see myself working for this company or selling my plasma to this location again. I will not say every single moment at this location has been completely and utterly miserable because that simply wouldn't be true, but my favorite part of every single shift and donation consistently has been leaving and no longer being there. And once I finally receive my final check that I have been trying to receive for 4 weeks from here, I'll be happy to cut any further ties with this location. read more

These people are a f*****g joke!!!!! Not only do they tell you that your protein is different in the labs than what it is when they take it for your vitals check BUT when they ask your questions on the initial interview to get screened in for your first visit don't answer those questions honestly if you have anything wrong with you because I told them that I had COPD and now I CANT EVER DONATE WITH OCTAPHARMA AGAIN!!!! Right now there are 9 people waiting to use the one kiosk that is currently open. The app is not working properly, so that donors can answer the predonation questionnaire. Employees are claiming that the other kiosks aren't working. How does an organization with the potential of 5 working kiosks only have one open? Why should it take an hour before donation just to wait in line to answer a questionnaire? Please respectful of donors time, and resolve this issue. This is obviously an attempt by Octoplasma to pressure donors to use the app despite the apps issues with working properly. - In addition, I arrived at 12:15 on Monday, and haven't begun the actual plasma donation process despite it currently being 2:00pm. That's almost 2 hours of my time spent waiting to be placed in the donation chair. read more

This place is extremely disorganized. They will seat people who got there after you did. Phlebotomists will flat out admit they have no confidence to stick you and still try to stick you anyways. The phlebotomist I had also couldn't seem to focus on what she was doing because she was too busy talking to her co worker about her escapades to he night before. She couldn't find my vein. And so I get stabbed by an unqualified phlebotomist, bruised up nice and good, and nothing to show for it except 2 hours of my time I won't get back. read more

There is no feeling like saving someone's life. That is what you do everytime you donate plasma. This place has the friendliest people and they are all really good at their job. People who love their job always do better at it. I always look forward to coming here twice a week just to say hi to these people. If you want to piss at least half your day away, this is the place for you. Decent money for your time the first 5 times, after that it's up and down. The staff lacks any customer service skills. It's almost as if they know their "donors" need them for money.. hmmm. They also don't have an urgent bone in their bodies. Most appear slow and lazy. I actually watched an employee walking around spraying compressed air on other staff member and even a couple donors! If you didn't know, the stuff can cause frostbites. Idiot. read more

It seems pretty ridiculous wasting around 4 hours of the day coming here and waiting to go through a roughly 30 minute donation. I didn't sign up for a part time job, the money after this long of a wait is really not worth it. The staff literally closed and locked the door 15 minutes after I got here at 12:25 pm. Watching staff members that could be sticking people stand around and do nothing because the moto here is only 1 person can stick for the day out of 5 employees on the floor! They didn't even open half the bays I'm guessing because they don't want to work. I've been coming here for years and this place has never been run so stupidly before. There used to be at the least 4 people sticking, it's starting to get to where I don't want to come anymore and I'm willing to bet that other donators are feeling the same. read more

Terrible experiences with two locations now. I have spent a combined total of TWENTY HOURS inside this building and south high and haven't actually donated yet. I keep getting the run around saying they need paperwork from my doctor, why? I HAVE NEVER DONATED BEFORE. WHY? I'm doing YOU the favors here, you've done nothing but make it difficult for me. The whole process doesnt take very long at all. Staff is always nice and courteous. They will sit and chat with you for a bit but work always comes first. I havent had any problems at all other than my low protein (which is on me) and the occasional donor who thinks they know more than the stuff. Save lives and get paid for it for MAYBE an hour and a half of my time on my days off? I'll do it until I cant anymore! read more

I've been donating here since May 2019. I've never had an issue. Once a line in the machine got linked, leaked, and I got deferred for 56 days, but it's procedure and they paid me for that visit. The staff are friendly, efficient, and always friendly to me. I could make more money somewhere else but wouldn't risk having to deal with some of the disrespect I've heard about at other centers. Been here at least 7 times, usually pretty painless, it's a quick easy way to help the world out in exchange for some money. Most of the staff are pretty friendly and professional as far as a place like this goes. Always understaffed, the one staff member they do have that's qualified to stick would get more work done if he wasn't busy dancing around. I understannd it lightens the mood but it also creates a longer wait time an i was already in que for an 2 hours then had to wait on a bed for all the people that were called a good half hour before me to be stuck. read more
