Worst painters ever. Hired them to paint the majority of the inside of our home including cabinetry in June 2021. Crew showed up, lead asked for directions on what should be painted what. I'd been told he would arrive with this information. Primed cabinetry with oil based primer, then painted with wrong latex paint. Was supposed to sand it all down and repaint with oil. He did not. Walls were painted poorly. Paint is already peeling off. We paid them less than the estimate and swore we would never use them again. I complained to the BBB. Owner of the company contacted me immediately. Came over to see the work, barely looked at it, instead talked nonstop about his business and then promised me $500 to remove the BBB review. I did, and no $500. Avoid them like the plague. I wish I had. read more

They worked us in quickly and got a huge job of painting the interior of our home done in 3 days - during Hurricane Irma! My husband and I read the reviews on this company prior to going with them and thought this was the best company to paint my house. It took the painter two days to paint the inside of my house. I was at work when the painters were painting. I was so excited to get home to see the difference in my home. Although when I got home I was disgusted with my house. There were spots missed on my walls that was not painted. There were spots in my walls that look like holes were in my walls with paint spot that I had to put a picture over it. There was paint on my carpet and hardwood floors that are still there due to I am unable to get it out. It upset me so bad that my husband had paid this company almost $3000 that I didn't even sleep that night. I emailed the owner of the company (Wes), he came to my home and took pictures of everything and ensure me that he would send a group of individuals to fix everything. A few men showed up the next day for a few hours and fixed a few spots but there are still spots that are not painted and what upset me the most I found tools from the painter on my brand new server. My husband stated when he arrived home from work the workers had left and left our door wide open. I was so disgusted with this company that I didn't even ask for them to come back to my house. I am in the processes of getting the painting issues fixed. I usually don't leave comments on companies but I have been upset since this company painted my home. I had to save money up to get my home painted and thought my home would look better but it looks like I hired someone that was off the street to paint my house. If you don't, believe me, I can show the picture and show the tools that were left on my server (which was stretched). I think I will spend even more money to correct these problems. The only room that looks nice was my daughter's room and that is the only reason I gave this company a 1 star. read more

We have a two story brick home with a wooden deck so we thought that we would use a local company. What a terrible mistake! Oconee Painting is actually in Athens, Clarke County. It's former name was Clarke Painting. We were assured by Oconee painting's owner that we would not pay a cent until we had a walk around with him or his "manager" and that we would have to be completely satisfied.Then I got a call from one of his so called managers demanding payment because of needing to meet a pay roll. At this point, I stupidly paid as we thought no way could this go on. After a few days, we realized that we would have a very difficult time contacting Wilson or the "manager". Calls to Wilson were unproductive. He would "be in Europe" and "would see us" the next Tuesday. It was always the "next Tuesday". His new "quality control" manager did show up two or three times after being days late with the sniffles. His other assistant came once or twice. Wilson seemed to have illusions of grandeur as his "staff" had pretentious titles and he was always in a meeting with a similar name. Wilson had so many wild excuses for not correcting problems. I needed the front door redone-I was assured from the beginning that it would be sanded smooth and repainted. The garage door was unsatisfactory. A side door needed redone. Finally, the doors were somewhat corrected. My rather large deck was a mess and I asked that it be corrected. One painter was sent out. He seemed very unhappy. I noticed that he was gone and went to look at the deck. He had not even moved deck chairs and merely painted around them. I had a iron railing with bright enamel paint. I asked Wilson to wipe the splashed paint off the railing. He apparently told the painter to repaint the entire railing which he did with dull paint that looked like shoe wax and which turned white when rubbed. I had a very difficult time calling anyone at Oconee Painting. Wilson was supposedly at some "big sports event in Pittsburg" or some place.Is this ringing a bell to anyone? I soon realized that Wilson was totally unreliable. Finally his assistant came to look a our deck which had turned almost completely black with fungus. Apparently no additive was added to the stain. His assistant asked if I would wait until nicer weather to try to correct their mess. Months went by with no contact. Finally in the last of April or the beginning of May-we started this job in June of the previous year-I got in touch with Wilson who said that he couldn't remember anything about our problems. I reminded him of our concerns. He seemed aggravated that I had caught him and stated that he was losing money on this job. I had researched the proper way of staining our deck and had experts come to look at the deck. I took no one source as being the gospel. The railing would have to be cleaned and repainted with enamel. The deck would need pressure washing , treated with a fungus inhibiter and then restained. Wilson became belligerent and stated that he would redo the deck his way and would not agree to repaint the railing at all. He became very irrational in the course of my attempts to get him to properly address the situation. One evening at about 6PM, I received a phone call from Wilson. He was out of control. He would repeatedly call me a d**khead in the most childish way. I tried to calm him but then he would rant about me interrupting him. This seemed to be an out of control rage. I thought that he might be drinking but he was not slurring his words. He would keep repeating "you are a d**khead, you are a d**khead". I decided that I could not have him on our property. In any communication, I was the target of continued vile rants. I received obscene texts and emails from Wilson. I have the copies. I offered to accept a token payment to end this nightmare but Wilson would only pay the small amount if I signed a sworn agreement not to post or report any unfavorable reviews. I would not agree to this. When he first talked to me about our job, he offered us $50 if we wrote a favorable review. I went to the Clarke County Magistrate Court to file a claim against Wes Wilson and Oconee Painting. I asked the clerk if there were other complaints against Wilson. She scrolled down a rather long list including a least one unpaid judgement. So am consulting my attorney about the feasibility of filing the claim. Winning the judgement is most likely, collecting anything from Wilson is another matter. I have started redoing the deck myself. It is not that hard to do and it looks very good. I still have to clean the railing and repaint it. I, of course, advise people to not use Oconee Painting. Ask paint store managers for references. Ask people in your community about particular contractors. Go the courthouse in the county where a contractor is located and check for claims against a contractor. See if they have changed names and check to see if there are judgements against that company name. read more
