This is the parish I went through RCIA in 2017. At this time, Father Wallace was the priest. What I…read moreloved most from this parish was how traditional the mass was performed with traditional hymns and singing Gloria in Latin, the use of frankincense, and most of all, how Father Wallace held Mass. I enjoyed his homily's and how he could make a relation to daily life or the feelings that come with daily life and how to overcome them with trust in God. He didn't need a prewritten paper or a computer to assist him with making relation, it seemed as if it just came so natural. I found him to be a true Sheppard of god and had a natural ability to bring people closer to god as well. When I first came to this parish and attended my first Sunday Mass, Father Wallace instantly recognized me as someone who didn't normally attend, as if, he knew every single parishioner but he looked at me as if he knew I had intentions of becoming Catholic. It's hard to explain, just that he was incredibly welcoming to the parish. I've recently returned to this parish since I finally live closer to it and was very excited to return, however, I see that there is a different priest now holding Mass. I've only attended a couple Sundays since my return and I've noticed a slight trend. During the Liturgy of the Word, when the priest is giving his homily, I sense there is a bit of a political innuendo. I find it slightly odd and as if this priest is almost trying to insert his political leanings into the homily. Also, the first time I tried to say hello and speak with this priest, I received a brief and taciturn "good morning..." and then he proceeded to speak to others he recognized. Just felt a bit off and unwelcoming. I'll continue to attend Sunday Mass of course, I just really miss Father Wallace here a lot.

Miss Kara, Miss Wendy (T-K) are the most caring & sweetest teachers my kids have ever had! Miss Waters (3rd) is so sweet & amazing, she had made my daughter love school again! The Principal, Mr. Roekle I can't say enough amazing things about how he has run this school! The amount of care he has taken for our kids, from all the cool special activities they do for kids and parents, he is one of the hardest working Principals ever.! We are so blessed to be a part of such a caring community and faith based schools in the area. The small classes, faith based and care for our kids is the key to the success of these kids for the future. All the staff at CCA should be applauded for all their hard work!

It feels like family: from drop off to extended care (which is super reliable & affordable). Teachers each have their own personalities, some are super warm, while others are stricter - but they all really try to help every kid. During our 6 years here, we have not experienced any bullying. Actually, every day kids are specifically taught to be kind and supportive to each other, and teachers and the principal get involved (very involved) with any behavior issues immediately. The bad reviews are from a few families that were likely not a good fit from the beginning, even though the school did everything to make them welcome. Over the last few years, the school has grown tremendously, and one thing we'd recommend is that they screen & educate incoming families a bit better.

I had the privilege of attending Tri-City from 7th grade to 12th grade and I'd like to share my…read moreexperience as a student. I give this school a massive amount of credit for how my life has turned out. I always felt supported, encouraged, and academically challenged throughout my time at Tri-City. The teachers constantly went above and beyond to invest into the students. Sports wise, when I decided to join the track team, I was supported in a way that made the experience extremely fulfilling and confidence-building. Because of Tri-City's excellent instruction, I was able to get a near-perfect score on the SAT, got accepted into UCLA, and graduated with highest departmental honors. All while staying true to the faith and values that were instilled in me at Tri-City. My sister and I are extremely grateful for the experience we had here, so much so that now the next generation of our family attends the school. While no school is perfect, I truly only have good things to say about Tri-City and I would highly recommend sending your children here if you want them to be grounded, protected, encouraged, and inspired. This is the place.

My son attended Tri-City Christian School from Pre-K through 4th grade. In the early years, we had…read moresome truly wonderful experiences. Teachers like Mrs Bicum, Mrs Cinors Mrs.Lever, Mrs. Theis, and Mrs. Mackey were caring, dedicated, and genuinely invested in helping him succeed. I will always be grateful for the kindness and effort they showed our family. Unfortunately, our experience changed dramatically in 4th grade. My son struggled with reading and had educational needs that required additional support. Instead of receiving the help and encouragement he needed, it felt like the school gave up on him. He went from being a student who earned B and C grades to receiving failing grades, and we saw very little effort to help him maintain the academic progress he had made over the years. During this time, our family was also wrongly accused by a teacher, which resulted in a report being made to CPS. We found this experience deeply upsetting. We were also concerned to learn that the same teacher allegedly shared private information about our family with other parents without our knowledge, which further damaged our trust in the school community. As parents, we were repeatedly made to feel that our son no longer belonged at the school because of his learning challenges and his need for an IEP. Rather than partnering with us to help him succeed, we felt pressured to find another school. The message we received was that Tri-City Christian was not willing or able to support a child who learned differently. If your child is a strong student who does not require academic accommodations and excels in sports, your experience may be very positive. However, if your child struggles with reading, is behind academically, has an IEP, or may need one in the future, I would strongly encourage you to carefully consider whether this school can provide the support your child deserves. What hurt the most was that this happened at a Christian school. By the end of our time there, I felt embarrassed and unwelcome on campus. Every child deserves patience, encouragement, and support--especially when they are struggling. Sadly, that was not our experience during our final years at Tri-City Christian.
