Lovley place with very friendly staff, i visit for breakfast every time i come to newquay :)…read more plenty of veggie and vegan options and an entire gluten free menu!

There are few places nowadays where you can walk in, hand over money and leave with a larger smile…read moresmeared across your face than when you originally entered, this however does just that! Upon entering there is always a warm and friendly greeting from staff who obviously appreciate you being there. The menu boasts so many options to suit absolutely every person regardless of dietary preference. During our first visit we ordered a lovely latte and milkshake, which was undoubtedly the best we had ever tasted! From a coffee lovers point of view, it outweighed all competition tasting so fresh you'd think they grew the beans in the back garden! The milkshakes are equally as awesome and straight away you can tell its made from only the freshest of ingredients while you wait. I pretty much lived on the strawberry and mango milkshake for my weeks holiday and im definitely feeling withdrawal symptoms now im back home! We also tried several of the food options during our stay, which included some amazing bacon sarnies and what had to be the best plate of nachos we could ever dream of! Unlike many of the other cafe's and restaurants the prices are also extremely modest for what you get. This cafe's absolutely faultless, and I promise anyone visiting it will love bopping to Bob Marley while consuming some of the finest food and drink in the country! We cant wait to return once the uni terms over!! Very best of luck you guys, was amazing meeting you all! Take care :] Joe and Han x (P.s we managed to get back to the Midlands without the M25 in the end!!)

Quirky place, love it. Great tunes. Great food, love the eggs Benedict (with no red onions)…read more Staff very friendly, best place in town

I think I liked the idea of this cafe more than the execution. It has sort of ramshackle…read morehippy-trippy look (there is a mural with anti nuclear imagery for example), with bright colours, relaxing looking sofas and a piano stuffed into a small living room space (there is upstairs too but I didn't see that). Unfortunately on closer inspection the upholstery seemed pretty grubby and in general it felt like fastidious cleaning is not high on their priorities. Not the end of the world, but it bugged me a bit. The place only had about 3 other customers in it when we sat down for lunch at about 1:30pm. We ordered two sandwiches. Unfortunately it took them 30 minutes to bring out our food. They had 2 cooks in the open-kitchen. Music was playing and they were having a good chat. I kept wanting to just go on there and make my own lunch, or at least to watch them to see what was taking so long. Seriously, I just had a tuna melt sandwich. I really was scratching my head. So yeah, don't go here if you want a quick turn around. At least my tuna sandwich tasted good. It didn't look how I expected a tuna melt to look (loads of bubbling cheese falling over tuna) and generally the presentation was poor. I had a baguette and it wasn't cut in half which is a small annoyance considering I had to do that to eat it, but with a crap knife. Also the side-salad was a bit strange. Think it had mung beans on top and a few other unusual things. No problem to me...the big issue was it was poorly dressed (in fact I thought maybe it was undressed) and shoved into this unwieldy little bowl (which immediately had to be tipped out if you had a hope of eating it). On the plus side they did sell Origina which is cool. On another visit I ordered a take-away flat white coffee. First, like many places, I'm fairly sure they don't know what a FW is because what they gave me wasn't one. I think a lot of coffee places think a FW is just a latté with a different name. I just wish those places would just say "sorry how about a latté instead?". I'm not going to rant in any more detail, but the coffee I got was average at best. It was way too hot and came in a paper cup ill designed for hot liquids (e.g. corrugated). It was also way too 'long' on the milk and not strongly flavoured like a FW should be.
