I wish it were possible to leave a negative star review. This place is absolutely awful. The staff is rude and unwilling to help. Phones go unanswered, and voicemail messages are never returned. When I visited my loved one, he appeared disheveled and clearly uncared for. On the rare occasions when someone does answer the phone, staff members seem completely unaware of the patient's status or needs. My loved one was admitted voluntarily, yet the facility later claimed he was there under a warrant, which is completely false. After more than a week, I still have no information about his care plan, and every attempt to get answers results in nothing but excuses and being passed around. There is no clear point of contact, and it feels as though they are holding my loved one against his will. I cannot say with confidence that he is safe or receiving appropriate care. This is a truly terrible facility, and I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

TL;DR: This place is dangerous and unethical. I was forced to remain there under fabricated documentation despite being stable and competent. I went in voluntarily for PTSD, anxiety, and possible postpartum depression and left with worse PTSD. I witnessed staff negligence, patient abuse, and lies from both the doctor and patient advocate. Another hospital later confirmed I do NOT have bipolar disorder and treated me appropriately. Full details follow. Please for the love of God and all things holy if you care about someone needing mental health help, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE!!! I went voluntarily but was told if I tried to leave, they'd call the cops. This place feels like an insurance scam: patients with Medicaid/Medicare/VA stayed 14-21+ days, while uninsured or limited coverage patients left in 5-7 days (I noted this from armband admit dates). The intake nurse fabricated statements, even documenting that I said my son "transformed into a demon," which I never said and denied four separate times. I saw shocking neglect: a staff member assaulting a confused patient, and another patient left sitting in feces for over 4 hours despite repeated alerts to staff. Dr. Zaidi dismissed my PTSD (even though I receive disability for it), claimed I had bipolar II, refused my 4-hour discharge letter, and filed a Certificate of Medical Examination falsely stating I was psychotic, dangerous, incompetent, and would deteriorate--despite me helping staff, denying suicidal/homicidal ideation, reporting no hallucinations, and being deemed competent by their own therapist. The patient advocate lied in her affidavit, stating my family thought I was unsafe for discharge, even though my mother told her repeatedly that I was stable and only struggling with sleep deprivation and caregiver burnout due to my medically complex infant. When I asked staff to explain the doctor's claims, no one--including Zaidi--could answer. I was only told, "It's a liability if I let you leave" and "You must take medication if you want out." Zaidi prescribed an anticonvulsant as a "mood stabilizer" and refused to change hydroxyzine or buspirone despite my documented adverse reactions. After my mom arranged a transfer to another hospital, Oceans delayed labs for 24+ hours. The constable arrived for my transfer but paperwork was missing because staff didn't know what an MOT was. The advocate even stated, "We don't do lateral transfers, so I didn't know about the MOT," despite discussing it with me the day prior. While the constable was present, I mentioned I never received my court papers. He said they likely put them in my chart (illegal). Minutes later, staff handed me the documents, dated incorrectly. My court-appointed attorney waived my probable cause hearing, assuming I'd be transferred, but Oceans delayed it a total of 4 days. At the new hospital, I was told I did NOT have bipolar disorder, but postpartum depression compounded by PTSD and anxiety. They started proper medication, and my symptoms rapidly improved. Meanwhile, Oceans staff frequently refused help ("Not my job"), ignored self-harm risks, left patients without clean water, and neglected diapered patients. This facility operates in chaos, manipulates documentation, delays transfers, and treats patients as liabilities--not people. read more

My next door neighbor who I visit regularly was ordered by a court to receive treatment here, he suffers from dementia. He was at the facility for two weeks. The patients here are kept under lock down. My neighbor was not helped by his stay here. His dementia was not helped but was made worse as far as I can observe. Also family members had a hard time getting information from the staff. I can only give my worst possible review for this facility. Do not put your family member here. read more

Everything in that hospital needs improvement from all the staff except for the CEO who was great, but his staff all sucked. I was assaulted by the staff and fractured my wrist and when I got home, I found out that it was fractured and now they casted it three weeks after it happened. I watched a patient be assaulted by another staff. I witnessed a woman having a heart attack and they made her wait two hours to see if the Tylenol was gonna kick in and get rid of her chest pains. I pray to God that she didn't die. There's so many more things there the inconsistencies the things that people want to push on other people and not do their jobs it was the worst place I've ever been in my entire life, and I would never recommend this to not even my worst enemy! They sent me home with none of my medication other than the medicine for my back not my medicine they put me on for my depression and my anxiety. They couldn't wait to get me out the door that they wouldn't even allow me to open my suitcase to look and see what was in it before I left. I was told my medicine was going to be sent the next day. I never got the medicine for my depression or my anxiety medicine. They lied on the medical records and said that I said I was suicidal at no point in time was I suicidal they lied and said I heard voices I've never heard voices in my life other than when I was on a medication called hydroxyzine. The place is so bad. They need to shut it down! There was a good set of staff there that I would keep but majority of the staff there were lazy and left the patients all sit in diapers and wheelchairs. I've never witnessed that before working in this psychiatric hospital or being in one. They had all elderly patients there in a few younger people, but all the elderly people were in diapers or went to the bathroom on themselves, it was a freaking freak show in there. I ain't never seen nothing like it and I hope they shut the place down before somebody ends up dying. I pray that Miss Alicia was the Hispanic woman that was in there like three weeks ago or maybe before now she's the lady that was having a heart attack. I have PTSD after my stay at Oceans that was supposed to be a one day observation, but i was mislead from Memorial Hermann hospital in Katy, as well as OCEANS! I was transferred to Oceans by constables which is bizarrre in it's own way, to Oceans at 3am on 4/8/2025 because that's when a bed became available according to Oceans, however, that was not the case at all. I spent hours sleeping in a community room chair. There was also another patient that was admitted at the same time who was put into another random community chair -mislead as well. We didn't have rooms, bed and it took 17 hours from there to actually have a room/bed. The admission person was very kind and made false promises and unfulfilled expectations. Once we made it to a room, we both began to observe the blatant abuse of the mental health patients, the aggresssiveness, yelling, mocking, physcical aggression and abuse towards innocent mental health patients who couldn't care for themselves. There was constant conflict and physical fighting between patients, patients and staff, which led to an extremely unsafe environment. We were forced to eat everything on our plates which was a red flag, as well as, it was made clear we were to take ALL OF OUR MEDICATION even when the nurses refused to telll us what we were taking. There were multiple patients who preferred and were prescribed Ensure, but were denied appropriate nutrition. Only forced and yelled at for not finshing a meal. The facility was filthy, the kitchen staff didn't follow guidelines, such as wearing gloves or a hair net. There was even an incident where a tech was brushing a patients hair during mealtime resulting in hair falling into our food. There was also a massive water event that took place resulting in a complete lack of patient care for almost 2 hours & the cleanup was horrific to say the least. Mold starts growing within 24 hours and that's when I personally began to feel very sick as i'm allergic to mold. Staff showed no interest and sadly during their distraction, many patients suffered. How about the 'fresh air, smoke break' joke. If a patient just wanted to spend a few minutees outside, it was restricted to smokers with a small corner a few feet away for 'said fresh air'. That was a joke. Why was the administrator coming into the facility to spray air fresherner every other day - held it down at arms length. That's detritrimental to anyone receiving a breathing treatment or any patient on oxygen. The danger that every single patient there was put in is indescribable. This cannot continue. I'm an advocate for mental health patients and will do everything I can to close this place down in order to save lives. My step son is addicted to medical care. He's been to local hospitals (via 911 calls) 8 times in 3 months. He's run away from home, hiding out in a hospital while family freaks out and searches for him for 2 days.) EquuSearch was included. After two more ER visits in 48 hours, we turned to Oceans. In the first 48 hours of admission at Oceans, the staff believed his lies about chest pains and took him to an ER for treatment. Within the next 48 hrs, they believed lies that he couldn't walk/move, so they brought him a wheelchair. If we had brought him there for alcoholism, they would have taken him out to a bar for drinks, then brought him a 5th of vodka. Morons, absolute morons. ‍ read more

This place is absolutely horrifying. My 78 year old grandma was transferred here for behavioral issues for 2 weeks, she was speaking and physically fine when admitted, at the end of her stay they tried to release her catatonic with bruised destroyed knees with NO EXPLANATION, didnt inform us of her current state or call us in the 3 hours it took to get her. They acted and laughed jokingly like it wasn't a big deal, pretty much saying she was "faking because she didn't want to go home", and said she bumped her knee. We had to call an EMT from their lobby, she was hospitalized for 6 days with several issues. It now appears her knees were burnt, she has large blisters now. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE, I fear she would've died if she stayed any longer. I'm furious, disgusted and shocked and want to protect her as this is still ongoing. read more

We brought my mother to Oceans after we learned she was not taking her dementia medication. The hospital and staff were very understanding of the situation and after getting the medications re-established she is dramatically improved. Very good outcome to a scary experience. read more

I beg you not to put a loved one in this facility! This place is awful. The employees are rude, defensive, and treat the patients with indifference, and that is IF they pay any attention to them at all. My 90yo father went into the facility hoping for help with depression brought on by grief over losing his wife and is leaving totally despondent to be alive because of the horrible treatment he received. He was left sitting on the toilet for over an hour. He is not able to walk so, when he tried to get help, he fell and ended up in the ER and requires xrays and stitches for lacerations to his head. Other patients helped him before the staff finally showed up. The family was not notified until 12 hours later. We have documented many flat out lies that the staff told the family - dishonesty is the norm. The facility combines people who are depressed with schizophrenic patients some of whom are dangerous. Patients are locked out of their rooms from 730am to 730pm - please show me a geriatric person who doesn't need a nap during the day - these folks are forced to sit in a communal room all day. Staff sent my father to music therapy every day, but he is deaf and they "lost" his hearing device, so he got no benefit from that, but was still forced to go. Add to that, the staff also "lost" his glasses so he couldn't see either. Dad was in this facility for seven days, no one helped him shave or brush his teeth - 7 DAYS! PATIENTS ARE AT THE MERCY OF INSENSITIVE AND CRUEL PEOPLE. Last thing...he went in taking one medication a day for high blood pressure. He came out of this hell hole taking 15 pills and with worse mental health than when he started. But, hey, as long as they get medicare to pay, what do they care. I will write more as we continue to get a grasp of the abuses and negligence. read more

I had an 11 day stay at Oceans - Katy and must say there were some troubling things that I saw...A very mentally impaired older man had many times before fallen from his wheel chair onto the wooden floor. I was up one morning and this gentleman had been placed in the common area with no one to watch him (one on one it is called) Needless to say, he fell out of the wheel chair and landed hard with his face on the floor. He appeared to be unconscious. I went to the nurses station for help and they ignored me, coming out about 30 minutes later. The gentleman's face was purple from bruising. In my humble opinion, this gentleman should have been sent to the hospital. Two days later he was wheeled out by paramedics...alive or dead? I don't know. There was a lot of violence in this facility from screaming at another person, death threats, to throwing furniture at staff and patients being striked or slapped by other patients. There were people who had fallen that were ignored when calling for help. An example would be the lady with one leg half amputated and who had called for help for at least an hour...I my self had fallen and knowing how the nurses ignored patients including if a person pushed a button for assistance, I got my self up with severe pain in my knees and hips. There was a lot of violence in this facility from screaming at another person, death threats, to throwing furniture at staff and patients being striked or slapped by other patients. T On a good note, the food was pretty decent but lacked fruit or veggies most of the time, to many carbs served. All in all, I would choose a different facility the next time I have to be hospitalized. read more

I should have listened to the reviews. Do not bring your loved ones there. I was told they could help my husband, no problem. By the second day he was there, he could not talk cohesively the third day, he fell, the fourth day he was sick sometime on day 5 day he was taken to the ER. I did not find out until I called to talk to him at 8 PM and was told. He stayed in the hospital 4 days and he did not go back to Oceans. No one ever called to inquire about him. When I went to get his clothes, of course many were missing and I was given excuses for ever question I asked. read more

Do Not any any circumstance admit your loved one here. They keep my mother heavily sedated. Day 6 she was rushed to Methodist West after becoming unresponsive at breakfast. The staff stated that performed CPR on her to revive her. The ER physician that I spoke with did not believe their story. She said my mother was physically fine just over medicated. She advised that I get her out of there ASAP. The head nurse practitioner is rude and disrespectful. Bottom line is do not come here!!!! Zero stars is too high. You have been warned read more

My mother was a patient at this facility for 1 day after being hospitalized. In that one day she had a fall and sustained severe injuries. No one seems to have an explanation as to how the fall happened. To top that off we went to get her belongings only to find that her UGG slippers were no longer in her bag. I can only assume they were stolen by one of the very unprofessional care staff members or they sprouted legs and walked. To say we are one angry and disappointed family is an understatement. Since this company deleted my review the first time I posted it to google review. People should know the truth on how Oceans Behavioral Health operates. I have a constitutional right to uphold freedom of speech. My rating should be a zero. Due to an incident that took place on April 11, 2023 that was premeditated by the Director of Nursing Gina D. If you plan to enter the zoo at your own risk, as a patient make sure you can advocate for yourself. If not you will be preyed upon and people will take advantage of you and your disability. Ocean's Behavioral in Katy is a horrible hospital and needs to be shut down! There is nothing therapeutic about this unorganized, abusive, neglectful and toxic environment for adults who are in crisis. Some people who work there don't care, they are there just to collect a pay check, socialize with each other and go home. Some of Oceans employees are heartless and lack integrity. It is just a holding cell for adults, and for doctors to come up with a diagnosis whether it's true or false in order to collect insurance money. When insurance runs out you will be discharged with no plan in place for your love one. Why? Because there isn't enough social workers, working their to handle the high caseloads so it can be effective to the patient to where the patient doesnt have to return a second time around. Some of the nurses (African nurses) are loud, obnoxious, intrusive, arrogant, aggressive, and abusive towards the patients and documents lies in their medical charts. This is not Nigeria! Leave that negative behavior in your country and learn to communicate, be honest, understanding,empathetic and non-judgmental. Somethings just can't be taught and I advise you to learn to humble yourself. Why did you become a nurse to begin with? Some of you definitely don't have interest in helping people who are in need and it shows. There is really no medication management being done especially upon discharge. Make sure you ask for a paper prescription of your medications in hand. Oceans staff will lie to your face and tell you that it has been submitted to your pharmacy of choice and long story short your medication is not available when you arrive to pick it up. Doctors don't communicate either. If you bring a patient clothes or shoes. Don't bring too much personal belongings, because it will not be documented and the patient will not get all of their belongings back. Once you're a patient there is no visitation hours for anyone to come and see you. They rather for you to wait for a call or make a phone call as though you're in jail. Some staff at Oceans already violated hippa and you will be dealt with accordingly. Some of Oceans employees lack integrity and will call the police to have your love one arrested if their is a vendetta againt him or her. Then come together and lie to make themselves credible. Trust me don't ever feel so comfortable in your work environment where you feel like you're untouchable, because people can lose their license in a heart beat, and don't ever feel like you can't. Patients have rights incase you all forgot. Oceans need to be reported to Health and Human Services Commission and The Medical Board. This place isn't a place of refuge, it's the zoo! read more

I went there in my own accord for help. Not a place for healing or a place to feel safe. I walked into my room to find a stranger in my bed. No sense privacy, the staff disclosed who I was and where you worked to people outside of the care team. I will say the only thing I liked was the NP that talked to me for about 20 min before I signed out AMA. The staff lacks professionalism. The patients range from psychotic to demented. Not for those with their mental state intact just needing a little help in a safe place. Please never send your loved one there. This place needs to be closed down. read more

Oceans in Katy is such a wonderful place!! Mandy Nichols and 2 of the nurses Victoria and Leslie have been so great to my momma!! All three love my mom like their own family member!! They help re direct my mom when she tends to wonder around.. they are so sweet and kind hearted to my momma!! When my momma was taken to the emergency room they kept in contact with me!! Called me to let me know she made it back to Oceans!! Any concern I have with my momma they address it in a comforting way. The nurses and Mandy Nichols are all 3 Angels watching over my momma!! I a. Very thankful for Oceans behavioral Hospital!!! They therapy conference calls are great!! Oceans is helping mom learn to cope with life in healthier ways and learn how to control her anger in ways that more healthy!! read more

This facility was just terrible. They kept my mother drugged so they would not have to deal with her. She was actually rushed to the ER by this facility because she was unresponsive. She had bruises all over her shoulders and arms. Some bruises on her legs. You could see that these were caused from someone holding her down or dragging her. The discharge manager doesn't even do her job instead she will ask you the same thing over and over again. For a professional facility, the sure do yell and scream a lot. Horrible communication! My mom and I have called numerous times to talk with the doctor and/or discharge nurse and after 2 weeks we still have not heard from either one of them!! One of the nurses gave us a date and time for discharge and now the receptionist is saying he is not on the list and it may be 3 more days. We have called numerous times today and cannot get a hold of anyone, all calls go directly to voicemail.I am beyond frustrated and sickened by their lack of professionalism and empathy. Our experience at Oceans was different from many of the other reviews. My husband suffers from dementia and was sent to Oceans from Methodist to review and correct his medications. That they did without ever overmedicating him. He was professionally cared for by a pleasant and caring staff. One thing that had changed recently and may account for our different experience is that there is a new Executive Director who is making changes to improve service. In addition, after my husband was released, we had a medical emergency and after reaching out to other medical professionals, who gave lots of referrals without actions or answers, I was able to contact Oceans directly and was immediately helped. While their visiting hours are in the late afternoon, due to my having to drive the Katy Freeway from Houston, I was allowed to visit at different times during the day (which also allowed me to observe that my husband was not overmedicated). DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!!! It's been a long time coming but couldn't bring myself to writing this. My dad was there to get on the proper medication. He had Alzheimer's. Visiting hours are horrible. My dad was beating black and blue and of course they said he fell and all sorts of stuff but he was on 1 on 1 so not sure how this even happened. They took him to the hospital and after he was admitted they finally decided to call my mother. I went up there and COULD NOT believe in the short 5 weeks he was there (we went every weekend to see him but he was always covered from head to toe and when we questioned them about him losing weight they would say they were feeding him.) what I saw. My dad was a black and blue and you could see EVERY bone in his body. He was moved from there but could not recover from the injuries (broken back in two places, fractured neck and the extreme amount of weight loss) that he passed 2 months later. I WISH THAT SOMEONE COULD HELP US SHUT THIS HORRIBLE PLACE DOWN!!! THEY DO NOT DESERVE TO SEE ANOTHER DAY OPEN. I have proof and pictures and this is a sickening place. read more

Oceans Waco - 84 yo Mom was admitted March 2022, she has dementia/became irrational. It was recommended that we admit her to Oceans to have them work on her medication to help her behavior. When she arrived, no one was allowed in the building due to COVID, so we had to leave her with them once admitted. The first night either staff or a patient (they won't tell us) took my mother by her wrists and twisted them so hard it tore off 3 layers of skin off her back wrist and now has a horrible scar (2"x4"). Forced her to stay in a wheelchair, over medicated her so much she could barely speak. They didn't monitor her blood issues and once they started it got so bad by the 2nd week they had to move her to BSW Hospital (but waited nearly 6 hours to make sure she was bathed first). She ended up with a UT infection that also nearly stopped her kidneys and was unconscious for 4 days, doctor said we nearly lost her. She never returned to Oceans by BSW recommendation due to what happened. read more

Very very poor facility. Do not send a loved one here. Like an earlier review, my mother had an explained and unwitnessed fall that resulted in severe injuries at 5:00 am on a Saturday. They called the wrong number to inform me so I did not find out she was sent to the hospital until the next shift of nurses called me at 11:00 am. It is very difficult to get ahold of anyone there under normal circumstances ( often your call will roll to the receptionist's voicemail) but someone finally called me at 4:00 pm but did not know any specifics. Like an earlier review, my mother also had a pair of Uggs slippers stolen along with 2 sweaters. During the fall she lost all of her teeth implants (representing $10,000 in dental work) but the staff apparently threw them away rather than saving them. Her wheelchair was missing a pin on the foot support rendering it useless. I don't think much progress was made during her stay regarding new medications and upon returning to the nursing home the hospice care group has accomplished more in 48 hours than Oceans accomplished during the week my mother was there leading up to the accident. Very poor facility, disinterested staff, poor communication, lack of accountability and questionable progress toward end goals makes me question how this facility can remain open. read more

if there was a -0 that is what I'd give oceans. my 86 yr old mom was sent there by recommendation of her dr and it was the better option that her ins provided. my mom can be very difficult and she needed med adjustments. she has dementia as well as bipolar that I always thought she had and had never been treated for. I didn't know til a few days after she was released that she is bipolar. she was at oceans 10 days, and not one time did I get what was promised to me by admit nurse Tonya. she told me they would be in touch daily to let me know how she was progressing. not 1 phone call. I could not visit due to Covid. Covid is over with!!! I could only call during certain hrs to speak to my mom. well it would have been nice if the nurses would answer the phone. so in 10 days I spoke to 1 nurse and asked when the Dr would contact me. she seemed surprised by my question. finally Dr called me and gave me a brief rundown of how she was doing. The discharge nurse Vanessa is as worthless as tits on a boar hog. She has no business working in that kind of facility. I can't tell you how many times I called her regarding my moms discharged. On the day of discharge, no phone call. I called Vanessa at 2:30 and she said my mom had just been picked up. Vanessa said there was a glitch in her discharge. My mom is in the Kingwood area and she did not arrive to her care home til almost 7. I would love for Vanessa to call me and explain why it took 4 1/2 hrs to get to the care home. Again be warned if you use this facility and you deal with Vanessa. The glitch in her discharge was sending her back home with someone else's meds. The charge nurse on duty that night told me that. It took me til 9:00pm to get my mothers meds. No follow up calls from anyone at Oceans. I wished I had read these reviews before allowing my mom to go there. It's a shame what they billed ins for and to get that quality of care. I know my mom better than anybody and I know she can be difficult, but this is unacceptable treatment for the patient and family. Please do your homework before leaving a family member there. If I could rate a zero I would. I was a patient here. Was in a bad depression and having thought of hurting myself. Recognizing I needed help my husband drove me and I was admitted. They were so nice and seemed to care. The moment he left I felt the shift in the tones and body language. The real nightmare began when I was taken behind the double doors. The couple days I spent there in the most depressing room imaginable before demanding phone to call my husband. Pick me up today. Is all I had to say and hung up. Few hours later I was gone but left me traumatized still to this day. I am constantly thinking about all the people sitting in their wheelchairs and at the tables with nothing to do. They blast the music and ignore the patients. The ones begging to use the phones truly get ignored. The food is absolutely disgusting. The toothbrushes! My gums were bleeding and felt like they were sliced with a razor blade. What a cruel thing to pass these out for human use. I advice all staff to take them home and use them A couple days. See how you like the feel of those bristles on your gums. Try the body wash that is for your hair and body and the hair brush that frizzes your hair out. Of course we all look like we are neglecting ones self to you all like we need to stay there longer so you can bill insurance. You would too if given the tools we are handed. Sit down and eat all your food you serve the patients as well. Cameras should be running at all times and I think it's so important to have sound. Like a day care so loved ones can log in and see how things are going for their loved ones. I witnessed an employee with a smile being cruel and mimicking an elderly lady making her cry. If cameras saw that they would see she was smiling but they didn't hear how disrespectful she was treating the elderly woman. It took all I had to not confront her besides with my looks. I may have been locked up or medicated who knows. All I knew is I didn't want to find out. I always speak up for those in need. The fear of what my consequences may have been stopped me from speaking up at that moment. Still haunts me. How badly I wanted to open my mouth up. Before leaving made sure to report to lead staff what I had witnessed. I have a toothbrush in my possession, placed it in my brown paper sack I was given to hold my belonging. How can one brush well and eat their slop with inflamed gums. It's all a way to keep one looking like they need to remain there. Since poor hygiene and not eating well are signs one is falling deeper and they need help. No medical professional counseled me until the last few minutes I said I was going to be picked up. So they could charge insurance and send their bills out. I think this facility should be closed down. Reported the Facility to the state and never have heard back after numerous calls I've made. No one deserves to be in a place like this. They say they have compassion, dignity and are honest, it's an absolute lie. Don't admit yourself here or take a loved one here. I wish there was something I could do. I tried to report. I pray for all who are there and in similar places. All I can do is write a review and hope people take this seriously before going there. unfortunately so many businesses are in it for the money. For some reason it is listing me from California. I am NOT in California, I am in Houston Texas and am specifically referring to Katy facility. I have to hit a star but I did not want to . It deserves NONE! It has been over two months since my loved one was discharged from that place. The longer it is, the more I realize just how bad it really was and the effect it had on my loved one is continuing to show its ugly face. My loved one was there for 15 days. I will say the longer my loved one was there the worse it got. I had similar experiences that another person who posted did in the beginning: Polite, accommodating, seemed genuinely concerned about my loved one. Then, my thoughts began to change in many ways. It is hard to list all of them but here goes. First of all, my loved one should NEVER have been sent to that place to begin with. It was over kill in a HUGE way. After being there over 10 days, I had not yet been able to talk to a Dr. after MANY attempts to do so. When I finally raised the roof, I was told I could come to a " conference " with the staff. Did that. The only thing I actually learned is that I did not like them and wanted to get my loved one out of there as soon as possible. They changed my loved one's medication to one that ,ultimately, caused my loved one to fall and have to be admitted to the hospital . l believe the fall was incurred due to the medication side effects from the over kill med they put my loved one on. My loved one has very bad sleep apnea . I made sure they had everything they needed to use the bi-pap machine that is needed every night. Since you were not allowed to go to their room, I could not properly set it up and trusted that they knew what they were doing like they SAID they did. As it turns out , they lied to me about my loved one getting the treatment every night, because after my loved one DID get discharged, I found out from downloads on treatment results, that my loved one did not get it even one time while there. BIG lie. Then there was the personal care. To the best of my knowledge, my loved one received 1 yes ONE shower while there. I asked my loved one every day and the only day that my loved one said "yes" was confirmed by an attendant in the "visiting room". There were numerous other things that indicated a lack of personal care over those 15 days as well. Then there was the day that my loved one was attacked by another "inmate". I went to visit that day and when they brought my loved one to the visiting room it was VERY clear that something had happened. A facial expression of terror was in my loved one's eyes and could not talk in ANY way that make sense. I demanded to see the nurse and found out that my LO had been attacked. There were others who had been attacked by the same "inmate " as well. An elderly patient pulled out of the wheelchair to the floor requiring a trip to the hospital for x rays. (all per the person's family members ). They took that person out of that place the next day. Then came the day my LO was finally discharged . When the attendants brought my LO to the front, there was that same horrible look of terror I had seen before. My LO was dragged while trying to get away from the attendants to the area where I was waiting. Clear panic and terror like I had NEVER seen was on my LO'S face. I believe that was caused by other incidents that took place during my LO's time in that place. I have no actual proof, but as time goes on, I am seeing that look of panic, fear and terror overcome my LO in various settings. Next, I believe they are deceitful as well because weeks later, when I was finally able to access my voice mail, I found over 10 calls that had come from Oceans. The thing that is really curious is that I never once received a missed call notification on my phone. What I believe is this: They required you to leave your phone or anything else you have at the front desk.while you are visiting . I believe they purposely call while you are there and the phone does not pick up calls for some reason or another. The interesting thing is my cell phone was NOT the number I was leaving with them to call. It was my home phone and I never did get one call from them on that phone. These are SOME of the biggest things I saw and experienced while having the great displeasure of having to have my loved one there for even a minute less 15 days . It truly did seem like a prison. The visiting is limited to one hour a day only 5 days a week and even at that, you do not get your full hour because it takes time for them to bring your loved ones to the visiting place. One time it took 30 minutes. My advice is DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!! read more

First I want to say I volunteered to enter this hospital. They held only three groups the nine days I was there. They do not follow any social distancing guide lines at all. Patient are crammed to table to eat and watch tv. Chairs touch each other. The nurses were either yelling at patients or each other all the time it was a crazy environment. The men and women were housed in the same hall. Men entered women's rooms several times a day and no one did anything to stop it. The rooms had ant that would bite you while you slept. The nurses threatened to slap the patient and even acted like they were going to. They threatened to send 2 of the patients to a hospital worse than this that you will never come back from. This was the nurses words. One women only spoke Spanish and instead of down loading a translation app on their phones, which the were on all the time, they just told her to sit down and be quiet every time she tried to talk with them. They did not want any patients walking around so all you would here was them saying sit down. The nurses changed one patients pull-up in the hall in front of everyone, there were four men and five women in the hall when the nurse pulled up her dress and took off the old pull up and then put a new one on. Her room was one door down. The nurse should have taken her to her room to preserve her dignity. Men use the restroom in my room, came over to my bed while I was sleeping, and even took naps in my bed during the day. I was afraid to shower for fear of men walking in on me. I eve became to scared to sleep. I stayed awake at night and slept in recliner in the day room during daytime for safety. One did walk in the restroom while I was using it. Most of the patients had dementia and had no ideal where they were and could not speak up for themselves. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A HOSPITAL FROM HELL. This place is terrible. The doctors are impossible to get hold of. They are only there part time and their hours seem very inconsistent. If you leave word daily that you want to talk to a doctor, they might get back to you in a few days (or not at all). They misdiagnosed my mother in law and somehow missed that she was schizophrenic (I guess the delusions didn't tip them off). The doctor (Wawa? Woowoo? we never really got his name) told us that a few days before he was ready to release her, they'd be in touch to work out care after her release. Instead, we got a call at 4pm to pick her up the next day. When we picked her up (she was still very symptomatic and we tried to tell them she wasn't in any condition to leave), we were told to bring her to an outpatient program with no further instructions. Well, that didn't work out, my mother in law was kicked out of the outpatient program after a few days because she was not participating and wandered off for a pedicure in the middle of the day. So, she was not well enough to participate in an outpatient program, but was released anyway. We heard stories from other visitors of no communication from doctors, patients not getting the clothing they were left, altercations between patients, patients being bruised by orderlies, and other stories of generally bad care. Bottom line: If you care about someone, don't bring them here. read more
