My review is twofold. First, the woman that helps make the appointments named Lakeisha was rude and…read moresnippy from the get go. Not the best look having that as someone's first impression. Second, I find their policy to be super strict and they are not willing to accommodate on time at all, which I find super weird. My son is 1 and very attached to me, and I was told that under no circumstances would I be allowed in the therapy room. Well, as his mom I know that he will cry and be fearful of a stranger so I'm not sure at all how you are supposed to accomplish an evaluation if he won't cooperate with your therapist. And to only be able to do evaluations from 10-12 or 12-2 with no flexibility whatsoever is strange... you can't do it from 9-11? Unfortunately, my son takes his nap from 11-1 so you would have a very tired/cranky baby for half of the evaluation which I'm sure isn't going to produce the best results. Obviously, this place is not a good fit for us, so I have begun the process with another, more accommodating facility. What a joke this place is.

We had all of the therapy approved in advance - in writing from the hospital - and they charged $2200 for speech therapy which the insurance would not cover. To add insult to injury, this $2200 bill was for two hours of supposed therapy - mostly a questionnaire assessment.

Her prognosis was grim at first, but she is exceeding their expectations and is now on to skilled nursing here at the rehab. I was told it is called TIRR, but nowhere on the building does it state this so don't let that confuse you. The facility is easy to find, parking is a breeze and navigating through the building is simple with everything marked so well. During my visit, I was pleased with the cleanliness, attentiveness, responsiveness and overall room layout. She is in a private room with a private bathroom. I'm not sure if all rooms are private. A schedule is given to the patient each night with what is expected/planned for the next day. The goal is for her (and all patients) to get better and stronger, so I like the planned therapy and for her to know what is expected of her to achieve the results needed. I've heard excellent feedback from other people about this place. Everything I have read and now seen/experienced is A+++. My friend even said the food was good. The Houston Metroplex is home to fantastic healthcare and I think this is another representation to that statement. Anyone going through tough situations like this, my blessings to you. Stay strong.

Parents, read this before you consider Brain Balance…read more My experience with Brain Balance specifically with Frank Amuto, was stressful, dehumanizing, and completely unacceptable. I chose to cancel after realizing the program is not covered by insurance and is not recognized as evidence-based care by insurers or standard clinical pathways. That was not made clear upfront, and it should have been before any financial commitment. What followed was worse. After cancelling, I was given information about my financing and the bank that did not match what the bank later confirmed directly. There was constant back and forth, conflicting information, and I was being pressured about money I did not owe. At one point, I was told that if I did not pay additional money, I would not receive my financing back. Let that sink in. Frank Amato's behavior escalated the situation. His communication was rude, dismissive, and condescending. He crossed a personal line by questioning my judgment as a parent, including making comments about why I chose to have a child with my child's father. That is completely inappropriate and unacceptable. Nothing was resolved until I escalated and brought the bank directly into the conversation to force transparency. Only then did the information finally align, the refund get processed, and the loan get closed. This entire experience created real fear around my finances and my credit -- something no parent should have to deal with, especially while caring for a child with ADHD. For clarity, my child is now doing well and receiving therapy that is evidence-based and covered by insurance. Be extremely careful. Verify everything directly with your lender. Get everything in writing. Do not rely on verbal assurances.
