I may be the only one to leave such a great review of this place, but to be honest i had a great stay here. I stayed in the room with a queen, balcony, facing the beach. we had a great view, and enjoyed sitting outside on the balcony alot. My biggest complaint was the fact that the door is glass, and there are no curtains on the door. the curtains on the room are also terrible. both mornings my friend and i were woken up by the sunrise around 6 am. the room is way too bright. luckily, we werent hungover but it was a pain to fall back asleep. we basically were forced to start our day earlier than we desired. the bathroom needs some help too. mainly the shower because the water takes forever to go down. they need new towels too. theyre simple white towels, but they are very small. However, the check in was fine. parking was easy. they have 4 different lots to choose from. The room and facility was very clean, and yes dated but i would take clean and safe over a modern hotel that i will barely stay in. the pool and hot tub open early and close fairly late. the swim up bar is very cheap, beer as cheap as 2.00 but they are cash only. they allow you to bring your own food and drinks to the pool - but you cant bring alcohol. despite it being a public pool and bar, it didnt get crowded in the early june when we stayed. overall, i would stay here again. the price was about standard for this time of year, and the location was perfect. the hotel was fun, safe, and clean. read more

Okay, it's a boardwalk motel. We had a 3 night stay in a balcony oceanview. All the staff was incredibly friendly and polite. Room was clean. Large flat screen TV. Mini fridge big enough to hold a full sized bottle of wine. Yeah, it's a bit loud and run down, but you can't beat the location. Housekeeping did a great job and the price is awesome for the shore. read more

Bros!!!!! I stayed at this hotel and it was OK. Bathrooms must've been from the 80s back when Arnold was pumping iron on the beaches, but you could still do what you had to do in them. Trust me, bros, they handled all I had to give them, especially after eating my 160 grams of protein every day. You know what I mean! The best part of this trip was when I got a little more sun than I wanted and I stayed in the next day while my bros worked on their tans at the beach. So the house keeper came in while I was doing some push-ups and if anyone knows me, I work out in some tight spandex and a tank top just so I can show my definition and let me tell you my fellow work out bros "it was on" this house keeper worked for the protein until I packed her full of one powerful shot of pure bro-protein. read more

Definitely mixed in my review for this hotel. Good but lacking. I was dropping off a friend that was staying here for work for 5 days. The staff at the desk was Very polite. 1/2 the hotel is still being gutted and renovated to get ready for the season opening. Not an issue. When I first walked in the room. I thought. Oh, Not so bad and the entire room/ bath looked newly remodeled. Had a single queen just like the cover photo. The room and bath looked exactly like the photos and was CLEAN. No carpet, but new floors. I had bags I was helping my friend bring in and started to notice stuff. It's like a BASIC dorm room with a bed in a room. There was a fridge, small Kurig like coffee pot, and a couple open shelves, tiny space to hang a few items, iron on a shelf and small safe bolted to one of the shelves. There are two bedside shelves used as a nightstand and did have USB and a plug. There wasn't really a place to put bags or unpack other than on the bed. An additional narrow shelf under the wall mounted tv. No phone to call the front desk or for a wake up call, no additional desk space or chair. No microwave or Clock. A Bed in a room. The bathroom I will say was NICE and spacious. All NEW and modern. The staff did a great job installing this new bathroom and it showed. The shower had nice pressure, large sink and glass shower doors. They have basic towels, but if you want a large towel I would suggest bringing your own. There is daily room service if needed. My friend said the BED was firm but comfortable. He did get a parking pass, but the lot is VERY tiny. He went on a late run to WAWA for a sandwich and had to park in the overflow lot when he returned which is about 2-3 blocks away. He has trouble walking so this was a bit inconvenient. Note..there were only 5 rooms booked for this off season weekend. All the spaces AT the hotel I think were being used by construction and staff. Overall, it's a beach hotel. A Bed in a room with a nice bathroom. Maybe my expectations were a little high from traveling in IHG hotels and staying many many times in other Wildwood hotels. Usually there is a phone and microwave? I get it's 2023 and most people have cell phones, but still. PLUSSES *it is across from convention center *staff was polite *rooms was newly renovated *bathroom was nice ** good shower w/ gel/shampoo/wash *upgraded sensor door keys *elevator access on one side of bldg LACKING *phone *microwave *desk *chair *ample onsite parking I don't want to sound too negative because it just "Wildwood". I'm only comparing my hotel experiences I've had at other Wildwood hotels in the same vicinity. Especially being a newly renovated hotel. rooms were indeed modern. the halls were filthy. we saw some large stains on them. There were bird feathers and pieces of plastic eating utensils in the hottub. I rented two rooms for myself and some family members. My sister rented ended up with room 205 and told me there was no hot water and dismal water pressure in the shower. Desk staff acknowledged the problem had been persisting for weeks. Im sure if the owner had lost hot water at his house, the ordeal wouldnt last weeks. I asked the clerk to have the owner call me toward resolving the complaint I had about the shower. the clert avoided my gaze as he told me he would put a note for that, which pretty much confirmed in advance that he knew id never get that call. I didnt, hence the review. Oceanic has a good location, and places with good locations get customers regardless of whether or not they retain them. they wont be retaining us. read more

There was no microwave in the room as promised. The air condition filter was disgusting, I had to complain, remove it and have them clean it. It had not been cleaned in years. If you go to the ghetto Tiki Bar be aware that the bartender will pour you a double drink, if she ask you if you want it on the rocks. It is their way of charging you for two drinks in one. They also include their tip on the printed bill. You cannot tip whatever you like. Room looked like a throw back from the 70s and have never been updated or renovated. Stayed here for the firefighter's convention in 2018 and really had nothing but problems the entire time. Spoke with management several times during my stay and afterward as well in an attempt for them to make things right - to no avail. I was then promised a comped room for 2019, and now they're simply ignoring me. (I still have the email as proof) This is not a nice place to stay. From the looks of it the latest upgrades were made in the 1980's and it's entirely too expensive for the service and quality. Do yourself a favor and sleep in a dumpster rather than at the Oceanic. read more

Honestly the worst hotel anyone could be in. -The hotel is disgusting black mold in the shower the worst place to be when you're cleaning yourself. -The rugs are filthy omg you can not walk barefooted just isn't possible. -The quilt on the beds smell so bad Like fish ! -the elevator is down all day, my mother who has stage 4 cancer has to be carried down by the fire department of its not fixed by the time we check out. - no hot water - can't even heat anything up in the microwave that's down too - pool is shut down due to the tropical storm the roof fell inside This hotel doesn't deserve 1 star, I've been up all night trying to make sure my mother is breathing and doing okay because there is no AC they wouldn't change our room the old man behind the desk told my family to call the ambulance if she needs help no heart at all no care about there customers. Went down by the pool the first day and the employee is setting up one guy says to the bartender " what's sup bitch you got his keys?" Like really by a pool where families are around with their kids ? Never again will I ever stay at this hotel. Very Displeased/disappointed with my stay at this hotel. Had a parking pass in my car and they towed my car. bathroom door didnt close right, Ac in the room would turn on and off randomly even though I had set to stay On. Manager on duty I think her name is Jen. Came back to show her that the parking pass it was in the car and you could see it even though it fell to the ground. She didn't do anything about it and told me she couldn't do anything about. Just think this awful customer service. Most definitely won't stay here again. read more

Room was very recently updated, large flatscreen tv, updated modern bathroom and very reasonably priced (full disclosure: I was there for an event at the convention center prior to beach season). My family usually stays at the Heart of Wildwood, so this place is conveniently located for us and it's also cheap. My brothers and I usually pay it a visit at least once. Upon arrival desk employee was very friendly. Get in elevator and floor needed a vacuum and grafitti etched in door. Elevator opens to 2nd floor and wall had 2 holes covered over by plastic. Walking hallway to room the wallpaper was ripped. Yes i was scared BUT opened room door. Small, but ok its just for 2ppl. Typical queen (only 2 pillows), table 2 chairs Awesome working fridge w sm freezer & AC!!. Bathroom had oldschool pink tile and tub was blue. Tight sqeeze for toilet bathroom was small. We had balcony facing VFW memorial and rides (great view) So my take on hotel is its an old school Wildwood Hotel, nothing fancy BUT you dont come to WW to stay in your room. Not updated but its clean!!!! Thats most important to me. Also on saturday nite we accidentally left room key in door and no one broke in lol, so its safe too!! Staff and guests were all friendly. The pool area was nice, lots of loungers and the swim up bar was added plus for vacation mode. We stopped in bar at hotel also and again very friendly female bar employee. Dj was good too. Plenty of parking if not at hotel its just a block away OR park on street 10pm -8am its free. Im giving 3 stars my boyfriend said it deserves 4. Stayed 2 nights in one of the older model rooms. The women at the front desk and maid service were all very friendly towards my friends and I. Great location if you want to be near the beach and boardwalk. One of the situations you get what you pay for, if you want luxury stay somewhere else. Let's start with the positive. The hotel staff were very nice and responded well to any problems. The price was good. Our group bought out the motel. I thought we had a good price because of some package. Turns out the prices are cheap, anyway. Pool bar was a nice touch. The stars are for the hotel staff. OK, now to get realistic. The place is a crumbling dump. The room smelled like urine. The were no drain stoppers in the sink or tub. Hot water was available but you had to let it run for a very long time. The balcony was narrow; you couldn't pass through. You had to enter in the order you would sit. The stackable plastic chairs were years old, and the plastic was deteriorating. Some of the chairs were cracked and unusable. They have a practice of unplugging, not just lowering the refrigerators between guests. It was weird to have to plug in your refrigerator and guess an optimal temp setting, not to mention waiting for it to cool. The bar manager was as rude as the hotel staff were polite. He did nothing but complain. It seemed like every time I ordered the same drink, the price was different. I hate when bars think they can take advantage of the inebriated. We were told the pool bar would stay open as long as there were customers, until 2 AM. We were told to leave at 11 PM and told to use the indoor bar instead. The overall look of the exterior was like a public housing project. The area they called the cottages reminded me of the fictional town of Big Tuna in the movie, Blue Velvet. I assume there are better places to stay, even if you are on a tight budget. read more

Just spent 4 nights at the Oceanic. I was in town for the Tournament Of Bands Indoor Percussion Atlantic Coast Championships and thought I would share my thoughts. #1 Location - PERFECT. You could not find a better hotel for access to the Convention Center & Boardwalk. #2 Parking - Parking at the hotel was a bit limited but was not an issue because when I got there, I parked my car and had absolutely no need to move it until 4 days later when we checked out to leave. We were within walking distance of everything we needed for a 4 day stay. #3 The facility- Dated?? Yep, so are 90% of the other hotels in Wildwood. Clean?? Absolutely! The housekeeping staff was friendly, courteous and professional (I believe our housekeeper's name was Kimberly...."Thanks Kimberly". While I'm on the subject of the staff, each of the staff that we encountered during our stay whether it was in the hall, in the lobby or even on the street greeted us with a smile and a friendly "Hello" . #4 The room- No peeling paint, plenty of hot water and clean towels, comfortable bed. The room did not have a microwave or coffee maker, but this was not an issue because we did our homework before booking, and prepared ahead, so it was totally a non- issue. I have seen others complaining that you actually have a room key instead of a key card....Seriously????? Do you use a card to get into your home??? (Scratches head) In conclusion, If you are looking for a clean room, in the best location in Wildwood that you don't have to take out a second mortgage to pay for, Do your homework, plan ahead and give this place a try. We just survived a two night stay at the Oceanic Hotel. There are several motel/hotels in the Wildwoods, but good luck researching all their availability. The Oceanic was referred to me by another motel that was booked on our weekend. The good: Great location across from the Convention Center and Boardwalk. Pool and the tiki bar is good. The few staff that we engaged were friendly. The OK: Our room was clean but small and no frills. The ugly: The motel has a bar which seems to attract local riff-raff. The hallways are narrow and the smell of cigarette smoke was apparent. The smoke detector was taken down in our room (apparently the battery needed to be replaced). The place is not very attractive, and is reminiscent of my home-town's welfare hotel. We did not notice any insects or rodents, or we would have high-tailed it outta there! Parking was an issue the first night. Metered street parking surrounds the building, and there are only a few hours during the night that the spots are free of charge. We were told that the hotel owned a parking lot about two blocks from the building. That lot was completely full that evening. When I complained about the lack of hotel parking, the scary night-shift woman told me to block a car in, and leave my car key at the front desk in case the vehicle needs to be moved (which I refused to do). We managed to squeeze the car into a handicap spot almost blocked by two other cars. The second night parking was not an issue (at the lot down the street). The plumbing was a bit suspect and the shower/tub was slow to drain. There are no radio/alarm clocks or telephones in the rooms. The only toiletries were two bars of soap. No shampoos, conditioners, or even a blow dryer. In closing, the Oceanic is OK if you cannot find other lodging, and is the Ritz compared to Binns Hotel. If you can get by the lack of a relatively modern facility and strange collection of locals hanging outside the bar, then you should survive your stay as well! read more

So if you want quiet and relaxing don't book here Yes there's a pool/hot tub/ swim up tiki bar that they do open to the public not just motel guests if you want a private pool don't book here You may have to park in a separate lot a short block away if you want on location parking don't book here Hotel staff mediocre at best It's pretty clean, buts it's a MOTEL don't hold your standards too high Can't beat location right across from the boardwalk/beach and good restaurants a short drive away If it's a short weekend stay you'll survive if your willing to put up with things listed. Def would not book here for a week stay. All together my experience was fine it served its purpose. read more

I shared a two bedroom with five other people, and it was uncomfortably cozy. The pullout couch bed was rickety, the towel situation was crazy, and I'm pretty sure the carpet had seen better days. I also wished the AC unit had worked a little better. We also got yelled at by management to keep it down, since a large crew of people hung out in the communal area between the Cottages. By hung out, I mean some folks were a rowdy hot mess, but what else do you expect? You know what, you get what you pay for and this was the cheapest option in the area that didn't require a weekly rental. I just felt sorry for the little grandma and family at the end Cottage who had to listen to all of our shenanigans. You also have actual keys, so you have to either leave them at the front desk if you have multiple people or just track down the couple people who have the key. Got to be a hassle over the weekend. So why am I giving them any stars? Like they say in real estate: Location location location. You're literally across the street from the convention center. The Oceanic Hotel gets massively redeemed by its outdoor pool with decent sized hot tub and pool bar. read more

The hotel is definitely dated and could use a face lift. This is needed both inside and out with the rooms showing signs of their age. Peeling wall paper and just old beat up furniture in the rooms. The hotel does have its good and I will say every employee I dealt with was very friendly and helpfull. The location is prolly the number 1 thing it's got going for it. Right across the street from the convention center putting you steps from the beach and boardwalk. Also the price is better than most and especially when you consider the location. This is the most disgusting excuse for a hotel I have ever experienced. I've stayed at Motel 6's nicer than this place. I found mouse droppings all over my room and in my bed, my hot water in the shower did not work, and I got sick just from being in this building. As soon as I arrived home I felt better, but if you're the slightest bit allergic or sensitive to mold you shouldn't even step foot in this place. I couldn't even eat in my room without gagging because of the terrible stench throughout the whole building. I had someone come to look at the shower, and the guy told me that the cold and hot are reversed, which is absolutely no problem and I've lived in houses for years with the same issue, but he treated me like the stupidest person alive for even having him waste his time checking it out. Insanely rude. The lobby smells like year-old stale coffee that'll make you want to hold your breath to even walk through it. My two year old nephews feet were completely black from dirt just from running around barefoot in the room. The only good thing about this place truly is the pool and bar. I will admit that I loved the swim-up bar and the pool temperature was nice. The pool was actually kept surprisingly clean and well managed, probably just as clean as any higher end hotel would be. The bar is fun and the staff are friendly. The game room upstairs of the bar is a plus too, nothing too fancy but definitely fun. Location is convenient, but if you're staying here for more than a single night... Definitely look elsewhere. Disgusting. read more

My favorite thing about this hotel was the Tiki Bar by the pool area. The food was so good. The sign outside when you enter says "best wings in town" and they hold up to that statement! The staff was also very friendly at the front desk and also in the pool area. The location of the hotel is also in a great spot being right across from the convention center. The downside to me was the rooms. The beds were pretty uncomfortable, and depending on where your room is it can be tough to sleep if your located near the indoor bar. Our room was pretty much directly over the bar, and at times the bands would play late into the evening. Also on one of the final days the hotel had people who were hired to come and check different safety protocol in the rooms. My mother in law had been taking a nap when she heard a loud banging noise at the door. She went to answer but before she could get there a man walked right into the room. This was concerning to us. It would have been nice if the hotel would have alerted the guests about the potential of these safety visits happening. read more

I was traveling with 3 young kids 6 and under and the room was not safe at all. Booked three nights and left in the morning after one. No refund. The place smelled really bad like mold. I really enjoyed the swimming pool. Now, for the other details. I stayed there over a weekend in May of 2013 for a scooter rally and there were so many of us that we sold out the entire hotel and it's bungalows. On the first day, several of us quickly learned that we were being ripped off at the pool bar. We could order the exact SAME cocktail at the pool bar, and each time, get a different price and even a different size glass, with the SAME bartender. My husband and I decided (and so did many others) that it would be a better idea to walk the two blocks to buy our beverages from the local liquor store. At least then we would have consistency with pricing. That night, friends and I walked past a grumpy looking man in his 60s several times, he kept giving us the evil eye, but would't say anything. Later that night, I was walking back to my room by myself and that same man got in my face and yelled at me "Thanks to all of you going to the liquor store, I'm losing over $1, 200 from lack of sales! You better stop doing that! You can't bring those bottles into my hotel!!" Interestingly, he had not yelled at me until I was walking by myself, additionally, I didn't have any beverage in my hands at all, I was empty handed" As I walked away, I thought to myself. 'Well, I guess the owner of this hotel doesn't like the free-market economy that we have here in the U.S. Perhaps he should go live in another country that uses different forms of economy such as communist, with a smattering of dictatorship' The day before we arrived at the Oceanic, I phoned them to ask if our room has a refrigerator and the lady who answered the phone said "Yes" Since I have certain food allergies, this is important for me to know. When we arrived at our room, we realized that the fridge in our room was unplugged. We then compared notes with some others staying at the hotel and they reported the same problem. One person was very annoyed as he had also been told that his room has a refrigerator. He needed to keep his insulin cool and found out the hard way that his fridge was also unplugged. He had to go to the liquor store to purchase ice. What a hassle. On Sunday morning we were getting ready to check out of the hotel, when my husband realized that he was parched and needed a lovely orange juice, so he asked if I could bring him some. I went to the, inside bar at the hotel, and realized that it wasn't open, so just as I was coming out of there, the same mean man yelled at me "What are you doing in there????!!!? I replied "I was hoping to buy orange juice, but it's closed" He replied "You're gonna have to go up the street to get that, we don't have any here" (I know for a fact, that there is no place in the direction in which he was pointing, that sells orange juice, he was just trying to send me on a fool's errand) So I walked away from him while he yelled at me "Hey, where are you going???! I said "Going to buy orange juice from the pool bar" He replied "We don't HAVE any orange juice!!!! You are gonna have to go up the street!!" I ignored him, bought OJ from the pool bar, walked past him through the lobby and the man was fuming, his face was redder than Zoidberg from Futurama. I just ignored him. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that there were hilarious trashy broads at the poolside who admitted to me that they never stay at the hotel and that they always go there to swim for free. I don't mind trashy broads, but these ones were pathetic. It's safe to say that we won't be staying at this hotel again. Next time we go to Wildwood we plan to stay at the Starlux. read more

My family and I returned to Wildwood after 15 years, and we returned to the Oceanic. When we made our reservation the staff was very helpful in setting everything up, we were able to get a mid-week special. We had a two room unit that was very comfortable, it was like old times there we a few upgrades made. The staff was very helpful and the lady who serviced our room was the best, Fred was very attentive to make sure our stay was comfortable, they were flexible that we were able to extend our stay. The Oceanic is within walking distance to the boardwalk and all the attractions, this is the main reason we like staying there. When we planned this vacation we told our children about where we were going to stay, they remembered the previous trips; we told them if we liked what we saw then next year we all can go now that they have families of their own. We are happy to say that we will make plans to return next year. To the staff of the Oceanic keep up the good work, I want to thank you for all your hard work. See you next year. read more
