Good times at the Pelican Grand's beachfront restaurant! I sat outside and had the best day! The shrimps were huge and cold! The lobster roll was fantastic! The cocktails were on point! I will be back!

After a long day of traveling we were starving and dining at Ocean 2000 was the perfect start of our vacation. Our server was very attentive and great at giving detailed answers to our questions. He was also spot on either some great suggestions. I appreciate when a server has tried the items you are ordering or thinking about ordering to get their suggestions and opinions. Everything including cocktails, appetizers, salad, bread service and entrees were excellent. Oysters were deemed some of the best and the calamari was light and tender. The absolute only improvement could have been my steak was a tad overcooked (ordered medium and came out medium well) and the plates were "noisy" when the utensils hit the plates. I think there is a texture to the entree plates and although attractive, they kind of feel like running your fingers on a chalkboard. Overall excellent meal - cheers!

Beautiful view with fewer options.. Parking: plan to valet or uber. There is really no public parking Drinks: Sunday brunch included juices, coffee, tea, champagne, mimosas and bloody Mary's Food: food was fantastic. My only complaint is that pre pandemic there were double the amount of options. I thought for $75, the selection could have been more Service: Decent service for a buffet experience Atmosphere/vibe: super nice and chill with music playing in the background Age group: all Bathroom: hotel bathroom that was just fine Return: maybe if I head they have added back more options to the Sunday brunch

The epitome of waterfront dining at this restaurant located in the Pelican Grand Beach Resort on the Atlantic Ocean in Fort Lauderdale. We valet parked for $10 up to two hours at the restaurant. We sat at the outdoor patio with beautiful panoramic ocean views from the veranda. I had the fish and chips $20. It was fresh and delicious. Our server was very friendly and exceptional. It was a beautiful day so diners were sitting outside. There are not many restaurants directly on the beach in South Florida, so it's a real treat to have a view.

Had breakfast at this location on a weekday, wasn't busy. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, however slow and never refilled drinks. Food was ehh... Nothing special. On another evening had dinner via room service. Hot and in the room in under 30 minutes, friendly service. Many more dinner options, good portion, ok on the flavor. Might be even better in the restaurant.

A nice view of the ocean, decent prices, and decent food. The dining area is nice, most tables have at least a partial view of the ocean from where you sit. It wasn't overly decorated, and didn't feel super fancy for their brunch. I had the Crab Cakes Benedict. The potatoes were pretty good, a couple were sort of soggy and oily. But mostly we're pretty good. The English muffin was maybe a little overcooked. I had a hard time cutting through it and kind of just submitted to deconstructing the meal and eating the components individually. The crab was good though and the egg was cooked well. Not the best Benedict I've had but it was good enough. The service was good enough. Our server was friendly when we interacted with her. But we drained our water pitcher and it was empty for a while. So her attentiveness was a little lacking. If the place was busy I would have understood, but it was pretty empty and quiet. The food came out within about 15 minutes of ordering. So it was quick. The service experience was fine across the board, but definitely wasn't a stand out moment. I would say across the board they are very middle of the road. Nothing blew me away, but also, nothing was bad. Prices are about what I would expect for our meal. If you are close by and want a view of the ocean and a meal, it's a good stop. I wouldn't go out of your way to visit.

This restaurant is gorgeous! Right in the ocean with a wonderful view of the beach front and water. The food was just ok. Nothing spectacular. I had something from each dish that I can speak highly of but the cohesiveness wasn't there. The Ahi tuna taco app was probably my favorite. The oysters Rockefeller were bland and had no flavor. The red snapper was over seasoned and a small piece of fish for $49. The sauce on the plate was delicious. The rack of lamb again bland but the risotto and sauce amazing. The lobster Mac was a generous portion but had a sweetness that I didn't care for. They charge a mandatory 22% hospitality fee which is insane. And also explains why the restaurant is empty on a Saturday night during the boat show. I have attached a copy of the receipt for proof. Four drinks, two entrees and an app.....$255!! Unacceptable

The Crab & Lobster Cakes and the Grilled Octopus were both great. However, the Caesar Salad, the Chopped Salad and the PEI Mussels were disappointing. The salads lacked flavor and the mussels were very tiny. Dinner was good, but I would not go out of my way to come back here.

Mahi Taco

Service was really slow but the food was decent. I ordered an iced coffee and the mahi tacos. The coffee wasn't great but the tacos were at least decent, I will say the fries were delicious

Soup was not that good

This was one of the WORST dining experiences I have had. I sat down with high hopes as we were given a seat by the ocean on Valentine's Day. I had thought, what could go wrong. To my surprise, the view was the only decent part of this horrible experience. Where do I even start? After being seated, we were given a menu and I was surprised because we were not given the original menu, but a Valentine's Day one. I had called the waiter over to ask if it was okay to order the regular items since there were not many vegetarian options on this menu and it was $110 per person, she said no! This was where everything started to go downhill. I was not expecting them to only have this menu as I was not told this beforehand in the reservation. They mentioned that we were notified that there would only be this menu but based on the reservation confirmation on the app and via email, this was not noted. Afterwards, the manager came to speak with us as we had an issue with this because we were vegetarians. He spoke rudely and in a condescending tone. Some of the things he said were "you have to pay $60 per person if you want to leave, so you might as well eat here because that is half the price" and "we cannot accommodate for vegetarians". I was astonished, but I was basically forced to stay here due to their policy (which is absurd). The menu they forced us to choose from was found on their website without any mention that it was mandatory to select from here. In addition, there was no mention of this menu on the reservation. We ended up ordering the food since I did not want to end the night early and ruin it. For the first item, we were told that they could not do anything about that item as it was premade with meat, so I asked the manager to go check with the chef to try to accommodate us and we were given crackers and butter. For the second item, we were given a small portion of a soup that was plain and did not have much flavor. The third item was a salad that came with blue cheese and a vinaigrette that was not good, so we were not able to eat this item. The fourth item was the only vegetarian option this place came with and it was okay (fried eggplant dish). The final item was a small dessert that was pretty good. Overall, the 5-course meal was not at all filling and not worth the price paid. We felt very discriminated against here as vegetarians and it was very disheartening to see that happen at such an establishment. I do not recommend going to this restaurant, especially on nights where they have a special menu. The rude treatment and the bill from this place were just absurd and not worth it. This restaurant is located on such a nice beach, but it does not serve it justice. Overall, the bad service, false advertising, and lack of vegetarian options made this experience horrid. I would not recommend this place, and their food is not even that great for the prices they offer.

The view is everything! We had reservations and were seated right away. However, it took about 15 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge us. There were plenty of servers with no one in their station that could have stopped by. The food was okay. The Burrata was probably my favorite. My friend loved her filet however, I was not a fan of mine. If there on vacation it's worth stopping by, listening to the live music and having a drink.

This is their new hospitality policy.
Samuel B.

This restaurant has added a 22% hospitality fee that doesn't go to the servers. It makes the cost of dining here absurd. We won't be coming back.....unfortunately.

All three stars go to Ava. This past Tuesday my family came to Shooters for dinner to celebrate my…read morebirthday. We were coming from Hallandale, we had an 8pm reservation got seated around 815 which wasn't too bad. We were sat in a dimmer quieter section away which I really appreciate since our 1 year old was sleeping giving us the perfect date-night setting. Unfortunately the last time we been to Shooters was Valentine's Day 2025. We weren't aware that the menu had been changed since our last time dining which was rather unfortunate since the two entrees (seared brown butter scallops & shrimp and grilled soy-ginger glazed salmon) we came for were changed on the menu. We ended up getting the soy glazed salmon and scallops & prawns which unfortunately we did not enjoy at all. Even the sides were different previously you could just get a side of Mac now you can only get a side of truffle Mac? The grilled soy ginger salmon was on a bed of veggies (bok choy, Napa cabbage, onions, peppers) the one that's currently on the menu was basically on two inedible pieces of bok choy and a bed of rice I couldn't even break and chew the bok choy. Our server Ava was very attentive and sweet even gave a beautiful little treat for a birthday dessert ( not a chocolate fan but her energy made the dessert amazing ). After we paid our check we asked Ava for a manager and did specify that it was regarding the food more and not her service. I didn't catch the name of the manager we spoke to but her response to us simply questioning the menu change was she's not the culinary director or something along those lines but she would still hear our feedback. She just had such an I don't care attitude about it in my opinion and had I not had a few drinks in my system, trying to enjoy my time out with my family and birthday I would've let her know her attitude regarding it just was unnecessary. We unfortunately agreed to find a new go-to restaurant to celebrate our special occasions since so much has changed. Thank you so much to Ava for making our visit worth it! Didn't get pictures of the salmon, scallops, drinks or oysters that we got but I did get the fish dip and the dessert. Edited to add pictures from one of our previous visits

Like "let's take pictures before we eat because this patio belongs in a lifestyle magazine" gorgeous. Las Olas energy at its finest. The outdoor seating is fantastic, the atmosphere feels upscale without being stuffy, and honestly, the food was outstanding. Which is why this hurts. We came for Mother's Day brunch and intentionally avoided rushing over for happy hour pricing because we wanted a relaxed meal. Adult decision. Responsible. Mature. Mistake number one apparently. Started with the charred corn and avocado dip and I need whoever created that dish to be recognized with some sort of civic award. Ridiculously good. One of those appetizers where you immediately start calculating whether licking the bowl in public is socially acceptable. Then came the steak and eggs discussion. My wife and I were both looking at the steak and eggs listed on the menu for $26.75. Our waiter explained that the standard steak was only four ounces and casually suggested upgrading to a six ounce or eight ounce cut instead. Now listen carefully because this is where the plot twists into a financial thriller. At no point during this conversation was pricing for the upgrade mentioned. And shame on me for not asking. That part is absolutely on me. But the suggestion was delivered with the same casual energy as "would you like fries with that?" So I upgraded to the eight ounce. My wife went with the six ounce. She also had a margarita she loved. We skipped dessert because we were stuffed and, as it turns out, accidentally entering a luxury cattle futures market. Then the handheld payment machine arrived. $175. I stared at that screen like it had just informed me my mortgage was due immediately. Turns out those extra six ounces of sirloin between the two plates carried an upcharge that could finance a small fishing boat. Roughly ten dollars an ounce for the upgrade. Somewhere, a Wagyu cow laughed at me from a distance. And look, before anybody jumps in, yes... I should have asked. Lesson learned. But restaurants also know exactly what they're doing when upgrade pricing gets floated around casually without numbers attached. There's a difference between upselling and a sneak attack. Which makes this review frustrating because I genuinely loved almost everything else. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was fantastic. Service was friendly. But nothing tanks the ending of a brunch quite like feeling blindsided by steak math. Pro tip for future diners: If they suggest the upgraded steak, ask the price immediately. Ask twice. Possibly get it notarized. Three stars because I really do want to come back someday. But right now I still feel like I got hit with a reverse happy hour.

It's very busy and loud there, though, if you are eating indoors at the bar like I was. The bartenders and barbacks are very busy. The restaurant is known for something called "Scoobies" which per Google Gemini are "crab claws (traditionally blue crab or snow crab) that have been partially de-shelled--leaving just the "pincher" as a handle--and sautéed in a rich sauce of garlic, butter, and olive oil with crushed red pepper and scallions." I didn't get the Scoobies because I was apprehensive about how difficult they would be to eat. My dishes were fried oysters, fish tacos, and coconut shrimp platter. They were all fine, but unremarkable. The platter comes with fries and cole slaw as listed, but when I said to the bartender that I didn't need cole slaw, just extra fries, he offered/clarified that I could substitute another side instead, so I went with broccoli. I did notice that there were many flies flying around when my shrimp platter came out. One of the other bartenders put out a plate of hot sauce to repel the flies, which helped. The place is famous and sells its own merchandise like shirts and hats. It is not located near other restaurants, and you'll have to walk fifteen minutes or get an Uber if you are discouraged by the waiting time. The people dining here look like they are pretty well off and are able to enjoy life.
