Thankfully the boat captain was kind enough to find us another boat/crew that was willing to take us out on such short notice for a holiday weekend. The park regularly hosts free concerts and community events, creating a fun atmosphere. There are two large, clean, and well-maintained restroom buildings, along with numerous picnic tables and a couple of grills, making it an excellent spot for a beach cookout or family gathering. Every time I've visited, there has been an ice cream truck parked nearby, and on other occasions I've also seen food trucks offering additional options. There's a small but very nice playground for children, and a sandy boardwalk that leads out toward the beach with beautiful ocean views. One thing I really appreciated was how many restrooms are available throughout the park, so you're never far from one. I also noticed brand-new tennis courts and basketball hoops. The basketball courts are adjacent to the large parking lot, but the lot is so spacious that it never feels crowded. In fact, every time I've come here, there have been hundreds of parking spaces available, making parking incredibly easy. One especially thoughtful feature is the electronic sign at the park entrance, which tells you exactly how many parking spaces are available before you even drive in. Overall, Little Island Park is a clean, well-maintained beach park with excellent facilities, beautiful scenery, and plenty to do, making it one of the best beach parks in the area.

Poor directions on email for loading area. it literally said we will be in our "usual spot". For a person who has never boarded your boat the "usual spot" is not helpful. The company was unwilling to refund or allow us to board the next night and pay the $40 difference. The point of the cruise was to watch the fireworks that weekend so all weekend those cruises had fireworks. Offered to snail me two tickets to board in the future minus the fireworks which was the whole point of us booking. Wasn't helpful over the phone. Rushed me off the phone. Very impolite.

We booked a 7.30 till 9.30 sunset criuse during Harborfest, an annual festival on the waterfront…read more We boarded at 7ish with maybe 30 to 40 other folks so it was not crowded on the boat and we had our choice of seats, nice chairs with backs and arm rests. The crew were very friendly. Especially Connor and Lauren, the bartender. There was a bar with snack concessions for purchase. The cruise began at 7.30 out into the harbor with narration by the captain of the history of the harbor, the various ships docked in the harbor and the many shipyards. We saw dolphins playing in the water and were able to see the festival attendees, vendors and hear the music from the shore. There was a musician on board who walked around playing guitar and singing after the narration. We would have preferred more history to the music but he was entertaining. They raised the sails once we got off the shore and that was cool. We were able to stay on the ship after docking to enjoy the drone show that was part of the Harborfest activities, which was impressive but also disappointing in that it only lasted a few minutes, maybe 5 at tops. But overall it was a great cruise, nice ship that was clean and well ran. The deck underneath was also very nice with cool furnishings and is where the bar and bathrooms were located.

I thought it was great that they could tell you what fish were running for the day. The pier is not free. Rates for fishing and just walking the pier for whatever reason is available. Fishing is ok if this is all you can do but it cost to much to get on the pier and they even charge you just to walk on. We went for the free day and we were all shocked how underwelming it is. They have a cleaning station but I have been to other piers that are way way better. This looks like it is minimalist and from the 1960's. They need to remodel. They have a couple of gift shops. Junky and very very crowded. The isles are so little they need to make it going in one way and coming out the other. Im serious it is that crowded. The pier is an eyesore and a disappointment. Im a local and love love love VA Beach. They need a huge update. We were all shocked how bad it is. I would not give it any stars but you have to give a star to leave a review.
