Dr. Dunbar and Dr. Slusher have an amazing team at Ocean Ranch Chiropractic. Dr. Dunbar is the first chiropractor I have seen who actually read all my medical reports BEFORE he began treating me, prescribed a treatment plan along with exercises to help me regain mobility and reduce pain. I was complaining to my friend about some neck pain I was having. She said "I have to take you to see Dr. Slusher"... we didn't have an appointment but he still squeezed me in as they were super busy. What a great experience. Dr. Slusher is very knowledgeable and makes you feel very comfortable from the get go. I just had my second visit today and am looking forward to future treatments. I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER I CANT BELIEVE IT!!! I can't say enough great things about Dr. Dunbar and his team! I was in so much pain for months, suffering from intense neck discomfort that had become a constant burden in my daily life. As a veterinarian, I'm no stranger to physical strain and the toll it can take, but this was beyond anything I'd experienced before. I had reached a breaking point after six months of persistent neck pain that just wouldn't go away. Thankfully, after my very first adjustment with Dr. Dunbar, I felt an incredible difference--100% of my neck pain was gone! It was almost like magic. BOOM! Just like that, I had relief for the first time in what felt like forever. Dr. Dunbar's approach is gentle yet highly effective. He carefully explained every part of the process to me, which immediately put me at ease. I've been hesitant about chiropractic adjustments in the past because I've heard horror stories of aggressive methods that make people feel twisted like pretzels. Let me tell you, this was nothing like that. His adjustments were precise, controlled, and delivered with such care that I never once felt unsafe or worried. In fact, I was impressed by how skillfully he managed to work on my painful neck without causing any discomfort during the process. It was as if he knew exactly what my body needed to heal. Before the adjustment, Dr. Dunbar spent time reviewing my X-rays with me in great detail. As a medical professional myself, I really appreciated his thoroughness and willingness to explain everything so clearly. It was refreshing to see how much time and attention he devoted to understanding my situation. He didn't rush through the consultation or make me feel like just another patient. Instead, he made sure I understood what was going on with my neck and what steps we could take to fix it. That level of care and professionalism was just outstanding. The experience at this clinic was truly five-star from start to finish. Before the adjustment, I was treated to a session on an incredible water massage bed that helped relax my muscles and prepare me for the treatment. Following that, I spent time on a stretching table that further loosened up my neck and back. By the time Dr. Dunbar performed the actual adjustment, my body felt fully prepared for the process. This thoughtful sequence of treatments made a huge difference--I walked out of the office not only pain-free but also feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Another thing that stood out was how affordable this level of care was. Honestly, the relief I experienced was so life-changing that I would have been willing to pay three times the amount! For the quality of care, the state-of-the-art equipment, and the incredible results, it was worth every penny and then some. If you've been dealing with chronic pain and are hesitant about chiropractic care, let me assure you: this place is amazing. Dr. Dunbar is a true professional, and his team is kind, attentive, and highly skilled. I am beyond grateful for the relief they've given me, and I'll absolutely be recommending them to anyone I know who needs help. THANK YOU, Dr. Dunbar, for giving me my quality of life back! read more

Both Dr Slusher and Dunbar are great to work with, even though Slusher is my primary Chiropracter. I've been coming here for five (5) + years and the biggest problem if there's even been one would be the wait, which their virtually is none. The office is always busy and the tables are almost always full. SOMEBODY MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT!! I disregard the negative reviews because I know better. There are always a certain amount of whiners on here and these guys are not immune. As long as Slusher is practicing, I'll be a patient. Not only a good chiropractor but a great personality. Thanks Jim! read more

Everything is going well. After only three sessions of individualized treatments, my back feels so much better and my gait has definitely improved. As I progress in my treatment plan, I'm looking forward to the very best outcomes. My only regret is that I didn't start including these treatments in my self care much sooner. I highly recommend Dr Slusher and Dr Dunbar for their techniques and exercise regime to strengthen my core. Their detailed approach keeps we looking forward to each and every session. read more

Excellent & professional service. Dr. Slusher is wonderful and he has all the knowledge & equipment to make you feel better.

I am visiting Dana Point on a work trip and found this office through my medical insurance. I was in a lot of pain and they took me on short notice. Dr. Slusher knew I would not be an ongoing patient, but still treated me like family. I got an x-ray, water jet table massage, foam roller massage, and adjustment. He did a posture study and gave me some do-at-home exercise, gave me a broomstick to do other exercises with, and gave me an ice pack for the road. I have been to a few different chiropractors in my life, and this office and doctor were top notch!! read more

Dr. Slucher has been treating me since 2008 after a horrible accident. He is an amazing chiropractor. He gives me great advise when it comes to stretching, since I have a tight back. Once in a while I go back to just get a quick adjustment. Another awesome things about this place is, before your appointment he puts you in a water bed. Relaxation after a stressful day! #relaxation Highly recommend this place! read more

I have had adjustments on and off at various chiropractors since I was 15. It has nearly been 8 years since my last adjustment as the previous chiropractor at a different establishment was very rough and caused additional pain instead of correcting it. For the past many months I have been experiencing a wide range of sensations that made me feel that it might be nerve related. Dr. Dunabar is the first Chiropractor in a very long that made me feel totally comfortable with working on my neck. He was able to adjust everything with a lot of finesse and without it feeling like it was being forced. Also he is easy to work with and is easy going. At this point it is too early to know the results but I definitely feel like things are being adjusted in the right direction. I would recommend him to my friends if they ever needed an adjustment as well. read more

The office staff and Drs. Slusher and Dunbar are wonderful. I was visiting Dana Point from Connecticut and shortly after I arrived, I experienced a stiff neck (pinched nerve?) that progressed to an intolerable amount of pain, allowing no mobility to my neck. Soon the pain traveled down my back, and unfortunately I waited until my second week in California before I sought help. Dr Slusher was so kind and understanding, and fit me into his busy schedule, knowing I had only a week before I boarded an airplane back home. X-Rays were taken and he explained what needed to be done to make me feel better. He worked on my neck and back as vigorously as I could tolerate, and even had me come in later in the day again at no extra charge. Dr. Slusher had me feeling much better in such a short time before I flew home. I don't know how I could have tolerated sitting on an airplane for six hours without him! I booked an appointment with another Chiropractor in Connecticut this week, to continue treatment, and I can only hope he is as skilled and personable as I found Dr. Slusher to be. He attended the same Chiropractor college as Dr. Slusher (Palmer) so I'm hoping his methods are similar. Thank you Dr. Slusher and Ocean Ranch Chiropractic Center for getting me through this ordeal! You made me a believer in chiropractics! Dorothy Hajek read more

I've been suffering from chronic shoulder pain for months and a friend recommended Dr. Slusher at Ocean Ranch Chiropractic. My first reaction was a little reticent because my experience with chiropractors has been mixed. Nevertheless, I made an appointment and I'm so glad I did. Within a few weeks, Dr. Slusher had me feeling right as rain - no more shoulder pain - feeling the best I've felt in years. They run a great operation over there and I really can't recommend Dr. Slusher highly enough. Do yourself a favor and get an appointment! read more

Both of these doctors are so personable and cool. I trust both and I love the banter they have. The staff is super friendly as well. I am very busy, so the fact they respect when I need to get in and out means a lot to me. read more

If you want to catch COVID, make sure to stop in here! 1 staff member out of 5 wearing a mask. Staff members shaking hands with patients and not sanitizing afterwards. Lady that works front desk begrudgingly cleaning off the machines while mentioning that they're "not worried really about the virus here." Cracking my husbands back, inches from his face, NO MASK or gloves! This is a high touch, close contact HEALTH care facility, you clearly do not care about your patients well being! Completely irresponsible and selfish. Leave your personal beliefs about the pandemic at the door and put on a mask for god's sake. read more

Incredible experience!! 10/10 I was on a road trip and had a really stiff back from days of long drives. They were the most affordable chiropractor I found in town and even saw me that same day! They did all kinds of adjustments on me, even though I've got a really difficult back from years of compound weightlifting. He even gave me a rod to use for stretching out my back for the rest of the trip back to the Southeast! Highly recommend!! read more

I was in California from the east coast on a week long business trip. On day 2, my back went out worse than I've ever experienced. I could barely walk and the pain was unbearable. I did a search for nearby chiropractors and was able to get them on the phone before they closed for an appointment as soon as they opened the next morning. Dr. Slusher took great care of me and got me mobile for the rest of the day. He wanted to see me again after work, which was good since I was severely stiffened back up. He had me come in the next morning (which was his day off) just so I could continue to make progress and be in the best shape possible for my plane ride home the next day. I went back in that evening and saw Dr Dunbar, and he too took extra time with me to get me fixed up as much as possible. These guys didn't know me from anybody, but treated my like I was a patient of many years. I am so very grateful. Both ladies I had the pleasure of meeting at the front desk were also as sweet as could be and so very helpful and genuine. If you're looking for quality chiropractic care from genuinely caring people, look no further than Ocean Ranch Chiropractic. read more

The best chiropractor in town! Looking for an amazing chiropractor? Check out Ocean Ranch Chiropractic. I cannot recommend this office enough. It's a great location and the care you receive there is top notch. Doctor James Slusher is the best. I have lower back pain and woke up with intense pain one morning, but felt better after one adjustment. I have been seeing Doctor James Slusher for approximately one month. He is amazing. Not only is he a great professional but he is caring, personable and really concerned with his patient's wellbeing. The entire team is courteous, professional and treat everyone with great care. Lorrie and Leslie have been really helpful on getting my appointments scheduled ahead of time and they are always very nice. My family and I have been to many Chiropractic providers in our lifetime, and this practice with Dr. Dunbar is by far the most excellent. He provides excellent hours for ease of scheduling, open till 7 p.m. most if not all nights, which is unheard of in this field. Just to think most Chiropractors are open for like 5 minutes a day was driving me crazy! In addition, the excellent service, the hydro beds and different types of adjusting make my and my kids' backs feel incredible! We all felt a HUGE difference from the first adjustment. Thank you for working so hard on your patients, you can tell when Doctors go the extra mile and these Doctors do! And it helps to have in-network insurance, my deductible is only $10! read more

I have only been in for one treatment so far, but it is crystal clear to me that this is the best place for what I need. I found this place through purchasing a Groupon, and I feel like I already got my money's worth and I still have 3 more treatments! The staff is so quick and friendly. Dr. Dunbar is so friendly, thorough, and gentle. Not once did I feel like I was being pressured or tricked into anything. I did not have to wait long for anything. I was looking for chiropractic care due to a car accident and after one treatment, I can see this is going to be a huge benefit to me. I highly recommend Ocean Ranch Chiropractic. read more

Dr. Slusher is a magician! I screwed up my neck 2 days before a ski trip, and could barely tie my shoes, much less ski in a couple days. He worked hard to fit me in a soon as I called that day. He did his normal great stuff, and recommended I come back the next day. I already felt much better when I left, but was still pretty screwed up. I came back the next day, and he spent quite a bit of time with me, and again, I felt much, much better - but was still worried about skiing. I didn't have time to come back that night, and he was busy as well...but he told me that I really needed one final treatment if I could. So, I took his professional advice and came in shortly before closing, and he completed his miracle - and wouldn't charge me for the final visit because it was just a "re-check" for the same day. He even said that he'd come in before normal hours the next morning before we hit the road just in case I needed it. Amazing. You might expect this great service if you'd known your doctor for years, but it has only been a few months that I've been seeing Dr. Slusher after my last Chiropractor retired. Anyway, when I left that night, I felt great, but I always wonder about "the next day" after something like this - you know - in your late 40s how something as crazy as sleeping can take its toll on your body. ;-) The next morning I was probably at 98% - I could just barely feel something there, but was almost completely back to normal. Oh, and the skiing? June Mountain (by Mammoth) on a Friday, perfect snow, 45 degrees, and 28 runs that day because you'd ski on to every lift and sometimes not see ONE person on a run from top to bottom. Epic day, one of my top 5 ski days over 40 years. And I owe it to Dr. Slusher. Thank you! Scott read more

I love coming in! Everyone there is so friendly and knows you by name by the 1st visit! I used to go to Dr. Slusher when he was in Costa Mesa and just recently found out that he is now by my house in Dana Point! I have been going to him for a month for stress and the wears and tears on my body from working at the computer and feel so much better! Getting chiropractic care from Dr. Slusher is a relaxing experience because he has a water massage bed that he lets me lay on before my treatment. He is also very careful to make sure the body is relaxed before he does adjustments and spends the extra time needed to massage various areas needing attention. I highly recommend him to anyone who has pain! He has helped me with headaches and neck pain - and I even sleep better now! read more
