Today was my first appointment. I had never been to a chiropractor until recently and had a not so great experience at my first one. Then I came here. The technology here is amazing, as is the promptness and attentiveness to patients. Since I had my X-rays, Dr. Dunbar was able to gently adjust me on the first visit. I happened in here because it's so close to home and I've always been happy. Never once a hint of any problem. Both the doctors definitely know what their doing and are sometimes what I'd even call life savers. Sometimes it's difficult to make it on time and once I arrived past closing and the still took me in, now that's service. Both these guys are great, can't say enough. read more

Let me start by stating I picked this Chiropractor based that they are in my insurance network. I figured I pay for the health insurance so I should use someone in the network. When I went in for the initial consultation, I paid for the fees of the xrays and the examination fee. When we went through the process of how they would treat my issues, I was told that I have a deductible of $10. That's great so I decide to start coming here for adjustments. In early April I get a call from someone in there office stating that I have a $350 fee that I owe them because I have an insurance deductible that I need to meet. When I was there no one ever told me that each session was $70 if the insurance deductible wasn't met. I also asked why wouldn't you say something to me earlier to let me know. The response from Leslie in their office was "We don't tell anyone". Like most people, I don't use health insurance all that often and didn't realize that I needed to meet a deductible every year. I would think it would be common courtesy to let your customers know so they aren't shocked when they get a bill. I will own and accept that this is my fault and should have paid more attention to needing to meet my deductible every year. Considering I was told my deductible was $10 when I first went in there, why would I ever question it? Somethings are covered by insurance even though a deductible isn't met (i.e. urgent care and physical therapy) so I thought the same thing. My huge issue is that why wouldn't you tell all your clients at the beginning of the year, just a reminder that if you haven't met your deductible your fee will be $70 per session. Also, they decided to tell me in April that I owed them money. They billed me for something that started in January! If they would have billed me in February, I would have caught my error and would have minimized the cost. Who bills for things 3 to 4 months later. Truly disappointed and will be looking for a new chiropractor. With that said if you decide to still go here, I would tell you to see Dr Slusher and not Dunbar. They are both nice people, but if I had to choose between the two I would pick Dr Slusher. I don't believe I got anything out of Dr Dunbar but he was the one in my insurance network. When Dr Dunbar wasn't in the office I would be able to go to Dr Slusher and I believe was able to make adjustments that Dr Dunbar was not strong enough to do. read more

I came to Dr. Slusher after I was involved in a car accident and I immediately felt welcome and part of the family. The front desk staff is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home. Dr. Berman and Dr. Slusher are two of the nicest doctors you'll likely ever meet, and I highly recommend them should you have lower back pains. I'd been experiencing lower back pain over the past 2-3 weeks and said pain had been traveling down into my thighs. It had gotten progressively worse during a trip to LA in which I was driving down to San Diego. On my way down I had some free time in Dana Point on Saturday, so I Yelped local Chiropractors and Ocean Ranch was at the top of the list! I dropped in, sans appointment and was immediately cared for by Dr. Berman. 15 minutes of treatment and I felt instantly better; he even tended to a lingering wrist pain I'd been experiencing. They sent me on my way with a few stretches to do and a complimentary ice pack for the road (which was great for the rest of my drive). Quick Tip: They take Blue Cross Blue Shield; my out of pocket was $70, which is what it is, but a year ago I was only paying a $15 co-pay at my local Chiropractor in NY...damn government. GO HERE! Dr. Slusher is not only by far the best Chiropractor I've ever been to, but the nicest, and most honest! I think it's rare to find a doctor with these qualities. Especially one that doesn't just want to take your money and treat you more than necessary. I've definitely experienced those types before. I've been going to Dr. Slusher for a year now and have always had the best experiences and results. His office is very inviting. The receptionist is friendly and and the doctor is very attentive and knowledgeable. I find his office very unique for the fact that he has a water massage table and massage roller table that are both recommended that you lay on to prior to an adjustment for relaxation and loosening up. I find these both to be very beneficial to put me in the right mindset during my busy day, and to help quiet my inner dialogue. Dr. Slusher also has various tools for adjustments, and some to penetrate deep nerves and help break up scar tissue if needed. He also has Alkaline water available. I'm so thankful to have found him! I went and saw Dr Berman today because I was having really bad lower back pain from a bad moto accident. In the very short time we spent together he was able to pin point exactly where it was coming from and easily corrected it in a matter of seconds.
