Given that it was $1/min (10min/$10...60min/$60), I decided to try it out for 20min/$20. About 5-10 min into the massage, I immediately noticed that the masseuse (Karen) was able to detect every knitted muscle and areas of my problems, so I decided to extend it to 60min/$60. The first 30 min were spent on my neck, upper and lower back with a towel covering my body. I was surprised that even with the towel, it was still very powerful. The last 30 min was w/o towel and oil. Same areas covered including the glut, legs and arms. This was absolutely amazing. It was like Karen was separating the joints to relieve the pressure on the nerves. Finally, Karen ended with a 5 min head, hands and face massage which was very soothing. I've already hooked another session next week and intend on a weekly visit to alleviate all the stress and joint pain from the week. I highly recommend this place to anyone with neck, shoulder, upper and lower back pains.

I am happy to say however, that my massage was exactly what I was expecting. Upon arriving at Presence Wellness, you instantly feel the calm and relax atmosphere of the massage center. My massage therapist, Nicole, was not only very personable and friendly, but also professional while giving the massage. The room in which I had my massage was very clean and relaxing. The table along with the décor was all very well up-kept, helping to bring a relaxed feeling to one self. Over the course of an hour, Nicole was able to provide a whole-body massage. Beginning with aromatherapy, I was instantly able to relax (as much as my stressed muscles would allow me). Over the course of an hour, Nicole carefully and delicately worked all my major muscles from my head to my feet. i realized that in order to get the best deep tissue massage possible, allow the therapist to use a little more pressure in order to really get down into your tissues. This is exactly how Nicole performed her massage, and it definitely helped at reliving the stress that I had built up in my body! My only complaint however, is that one hour simply isn't long enough ;) I could have gone on for more additional hours if time allowed! Due to the fact that an hour is a very short time, don't be afraid to mention problem areas or spots in which you would like extra attentive care, at the beginning of the session! Next time, I know to have a little less work on my legs, and a lot more work on my next and back! I would definitely recommend Presence Wellness to any individual looking for massage services.

I stumbled upon this place as I walked down Beacon Street in Washington Sq. and I had been craving a deep tissue massage, so I just walked in. First of all, the place didn't have much charm, but I was OK with that. I pay for the quality of massage; not the frills. I waited a few minutes and then I was taken into a room. Everything seemed customary up until this point... I am lying down, ready for my deep tissue massage, and the woman who assisted me comes into the room. She begins working. As soon as I am getting into my massage, a phone rings-- so, she says "sorry" and stops the massage to go answer the phone. I thought "how weird!". She comes back in and starts the massage again. Then, things got weirder... Another woman comes in and starts working on me too. So, they are both massaging me, speaking in Mandarin Chinese, as I attempt to relax. It ruined the experience of what should have been a peaceful massage. I contemplated getting up and going, but the massage felt good, so I stayed and figured I wouldn't really tip much, if at all. The phone rings for a second time. The lady who started working on me first leaves for the second time. I am left with the other woman who joined her. She is still working. It felt awkward and unprofessional. I have never experienced anything like this before. 1. During a massage, the therapist is NOT supposed to leave... especially not to go pick up the phone! The two people there started talking, and then I was informed that even though I called in, they would not honor my appointment because they had an online appointment at the same time, and that I would have to wait until that person was a no-show before they would accept my appointment. I declined to wait and left. They then started harassing me by calling me. When I answered the phone, they immediately said, "WHERE ARE YOU?" I informed them that they are the ones who told me that I had to wait, and I did not want to wait, so I left. Overall, it's unprofessional mess, I would not recommend going here at all.
