The Public Walkway that has been here longer then this house in Sea Colony in St Augustine Beach Fl.

The City of St Augustine Beach Florida should be ashamed of themselves. This area should be left alone and the Boardwalk shouldn't be moved just because some Fat Cats have $600,000 to move the boardwalk. The City of St Augustine Beach has already put down construction sticks with Orange ribbons on top. As if this is where the New Walkway is going to go all the way to the ocean. So the little Rich people can have it their way. Screw the fact that some rainwater drain from some of these houses. Flows right into the swamp of this park.

It's really kind of hard to review a board walk beach access. I'm guessing if it gets you to the beach it is at least A-OK and worthy of 3 stars. This one does that. It goes from a gravel parking lot to a great beach. Boom. Mission accomplished. Sure, it weaves a bit through some trees, passes by some homes/condos that are fairly well hidden from view by the trees, and seems to be well built, elevated from the sand and scrub grass, and was easy to find after walking back from far down the beach. I'm gonna go ahead and give it that extra star for being sturdy and well maintained. And for having some shade so you aren't getting fried on your way to the beach to get fried.

Spent the day at Anastasia State Park and it really delivered. The beach was beautiful with soft…read moresand and plenty of space to spread out. It was definitely windy, but honestly it didn't take away from the experience at all. If anything it made the waves more fun to watch and kept things from getting too hot. The playground was a big hit with the kids. They had a great time running around and burning off energy while we relaxed nearby. It's one of those spots where both adults and kids can enjoy themselves without feeling cramped or bored. Between the scenery, the clean beach, and the family friendly setup, this is an easy five star stop. Would come back again without thinking twice.

While staying in St. Augustine, we decided to see what there was besides the typical tourist spots,…read morewhen we came across Anastasia State Park. This is actually a pretty big park! The first thing we did was drive around to the campgrounds to check out the camp sites. There were tons of spots and each was clean and spacious. Like most places, there are spots for tents and rvs. There is a main road and on each side, a campground branches off. I didn't calculate the numbers, but my guess is that each campground has at least 25 sites, and there were at least 4 campgrounds. The only downside, is that it is a long drive to get out of the park from this area. Next we drove over to the concessions stand, but it was closed, so we continued over to a HUGE parking lot with beach access. From there, we walked across a very long boardwalk which took us through sand dunes and up over a large dune to the beach. It was another bit of walking from the boardwalk to the water's edge. I would say 1/4 to 1/3 of a mile for the whole thing? Anyway, the walk is worth it. The beach is clean and full of shells that you can collect. It is very large and stretches out in both directions, seemingly forever! It was far from crowded, for being the end of July, but that was appreciated and made it more enjoyable, obviously. We didn't go swimming, but we did walk in the water and up and down the beach until just before sunset, as there are no clear markers as to where we came onto the beach, and we didn't want to get lost. There is a shower/footwash station at the entrance to the boardwalk by the parking lot, so we took advantage of it before we got in the car. Entrance to the park cost $8 per car, and for beach access on an incredibly nice beach? Worth it. I don't know what camping costs, but i can't imagine it is much more. I would definitely camp here, if I had my gear with me, and I would ABSOLUTELY hit the beach! 110/2025
