In the 90's it was located in a small shopping center near Lynnhaven Mall. Since my business had been located very close, I decided to give them a try with some of my precious memories. Year after year I returned numerous times to have the business beautifully frame & mat precious photos & playbills from my son's acting career. My Music Room walls are filled with them. They made old family pictures into beautiful works of art. The store was filled with frame choices. Knowledgeable employees would work with you on the best choices for frames & mats. The finished products were always gorgeous. It was sad when they disappeared from the Lynnhaven area location, I assumed the store had closed. So no framing for me has been done in the years since. Upon locating the store in Lynnhaven Convenience Center, I was anxious to see if the framing stock would be as extensive. It turned out to be more so. And there was a larger supply of other decorative accents & framed prints available for purchase. One of my theater memories that they had framed decades ago had been knocked off the wall & the glass had been broken. It was from a production my son had been featured in with Virginia Stage Company about 30 years ago. I had continued to postpone getting the glass replaced since I had not developed trust in another store. How excited I was to take it into Frame 'N' Art for repair. I had hoped to pick it up today but learned upon arrival that they close on Monday. The location of the shopping center is the north side of Virginia Beach Boulevard just west of its intersection with Lynnhaven Parkway. If coming from the east turn into the first, rather than the main entrance. There is plenty of parking. This store gets my highest recommendation. They do beautiful work.

I wasn't planning on really buying it, but as soon as I picked it up, I knew I had to bring it home. I strolled through the store and found Picasso and Miro lithos (I mean, wow!) and spoke with the owner, Brian, who is probably the most affable gentleman in all of Virginia Beach. He told me he knew very little information about the statue, but I paid the full price, since it was quite affordable to me. At the counter, we also met a repeat client of his, a quintessential southern lady with pearls who regaled us with delightful, and rather bawdy stories. I know my timing was right, but I found the gallery intriguing, well lit and stocked with gorgeous paintings. I'll be back next year.

I decided to swing by and take a look at their tape section because it was only 7 minutes away. When I walked in I was greeted warmly by the staff and the person I had talked to on the phone, Jenny, had pulled an archival tape for me ahead of time which was very thoughtful and kind of her to do. My mom offered to get my college degree framed for me for a Christmas present. So I looked around…read moreto see where I wanted to go for the framing. I live close to Bernstein's Gallery so I decided to go check it out one day. There was a sign outside the door that stated framing started at $19.99. However, this $19.99 framing was the cheapest looking gold frame - NOT what I wanted at all. The employee who helped me was very nice and took time with me to pick out several framing/matting options. After we got done with all the options, the frame/matt that I picked out was close to $200.00. I'm not complaining about the pricing because I know that framing is usually expensive and that you only get your college degree framed once. He was kind enough to write down all the names and colors so that I could discuss the options with my mom and we could make a decision together. She ended up going somewhere else to get the degree framed, but I'm still appreciative for the time the employee took out of his day to help me make a decision. This store also has art supplies, but honestly I didn't pay much attention to that section of the store.

I found a better quality wood frame on-line for $50.00 each with free delivery. Local frame shops should rethink their prices and customer service. I needed 6 frames. Everyone I tried to make a…read moreselection scan or anything the self service kiosk called for the one person working the register so now I'm effectively waiting in line waited over 5 Minutes the 1st time after going to a kiosk that didn't have a scan gun, then to only get prompted to wait again and I just had to leave as I couldn't wait another 10 minutes because the item rang up $20 over the marked price. I ended up just buying what I needed from Amazon while I waited at my "self service" kiosk. Left frustrated and empty handed. I can justify paying the higher prices here because I can walk out with them but when I cant do that in a timely manner, then it's not the spot. The cashier was friendly but just one person that's unable to multi task is going to cause frustration. Please staff better.
