We stayed 4 days. The housekeeping never came by. We asked in day 2 for them to come by and they didn't. We had to tell them to clean our room and fine towels at 7pm day 3! Also the room next door had 8 people on it. This is a hotel room with only 2 beds. They were loud and left a mess on the shared balcony. OCNJ is charging too much for a hotel, forcing people share rooms just to come for a long weekend. They don't enforce the rules because they know this is what people have to do to stay here. read more

I can't say enough good things about Ocean 7. I stayed here for two days as I needed a little getaway to myself. I couldn't believe how CLOSE the motel was to the boardwalk. The room was like a little studio apartment. It had almost everything I needed. I loved that I could watch Netflix from the tv. There was a kitchen and a dining table which was nice. Room was decorated so cute too. It was a very cozy, comfortable stay where I could easily walk to everything. I love that you get a little beach backpack at check in. We all slept well awoke early as i always do and i had to drive to get coffee since no glass pot in coffee maker. I thought room was clean, like i said it served a purpose. Absolutely disgusting! First of all, they say you can park "anywhere around the building" but be advised, if you park behind the motel you will be towed and can only get your car back to the tune of $400. The room itself had a sticky floor, bedding and towels were not clean. No one came to clean the room even though they leave you a lovely note to Venmo them money for cleaning. If you are as disgusted as I was and try to speak to the general manager, good luck! I asked multiple times to speak with her but she was not on the property and was apparently too busy to call me. What a great place to lay your head. This hotel is ridiculously close to the boardwalk and beach and still stays quiet. Extremely clean. It's family friendly and the staff goes out of their way to make sure you have what you need and are comfortable. Our room was on the small side but had everything we needed. I don't know how this motel doesn't have a higher rating. This is our second vacation stay with Ocean 7 and we absolutely love it. This motel is quirky and kitschy in the best way possible. We've had ocean view rooms and they've had everything we need for a comfortable stay with our toddler. The decor is dated but adds to the personality of this fun place. Each stay the room has been clean and the linens clean and fresh. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and full of personality like this beach motel. Perhaps the best feature of this motel is that it is directly on the boardwalk and beach. You can come and go all day with so much ease. We love it here. read more

I was blown away by my trip to Ocean 7. When I tell you that the room was cleanly, modern, spacious, and ideal in every way for a trip to the beach, I mean it with my whole heart! The staff is kind, everything is efficient. Plenty of parking if you are planning to bring only one car as they make sure you have a spot, and despite how it is literally at the boardwalk there was barely any noise! We had a peaceful sleep and easy mornings, and we could rest easy knowing we were at the best part of the boardwalk and no-swim zone at the beach, which is what I typically go to anyway. We will be visiting Ocean 7 every time we make an extended OC vacation for years to come. read more

The other reviewer must've been very unlucky. We stayed here for a few days and had nothing like their experience. I'm not going to say this is any kind of luxury hotel, but at its price point it's as nice as anything you'll find in OC. The room's a decent size, the bathrooms tiny though. If you're planning on using the pull out sofa, save yourself the back pain and get an air mattress. The nicest thing about this hotel is its right off the boardwalk. If you're coming to the beach for the beach, this hotel is perfect for you. If all you need is a place to sleep at night, and be close to the beach then you've found your spot. read more

Let me start by saying if I could give more than 5 stars I would! This place is amazing especially for the price. First of all the location is ideal, right on the beach and boardwalk, second of all the staff is more than superb, they are kind and courteous. And third of all the rooms are beautiful and clean. My mom and I stayed here last year and we loved it so we decided to come back for another visit this year for my bday, when she called to book they were able to give us the same room we had last time which we so appreciated, a few days prior to coming down here there was a terrible storm and a lot of places lost electricity and many trees were down so I called the hotel to make sure everything was okay, the woman on the phone was so sweet and she ensured me everything was all good to go, she also told me that if we arrive before our check in time we can go to the front desk (which is open 24-7), get our parking pass and park our car, pick up our beach passes , and she said she would call us as soon as our room was ready and that we were welcomed to use the pool. When we arrived we did just that and were so happy that we didn't have to waste any time and we were able to get on the beach and start our vacay earlier than we thought. The second night we were here we had a small issue where our tv wouldn't get signal so we called the front desk around 9 pm and a very nice guy answered and my mom asked him what to do to get the tv to work and he tried to walk her through it over the phone but it still wouldn't work, so he said he would be right over and literally in the blink of an eye he was knocking on our door, he was personable and friendly and fixed our tv for us in minutes. The next day we found out he was the manager and when we saw him by the pool we asked if we could go to the front desk and get some extra towels and paper products he said we could call them on the phone and they would bring them right over to us, we left the pool got changed and a few minutes later there was a knock at the door and the manager personally brought us everything we needed without us even having to call. The point I'm trying to make is that if you stay here you will feel like a welcomed guest and your needs will be met greatly. It's truly a wonderful hotel and I'm happy to be spending my bday here with my mom. It's a great vacay spot, very relaxing and you really feel taken care of here. read more

This was the worst motel (Ocean 7 motel) that I have ever tried to stay at. From the time we walked into the lobby the manager was the rudest customer service person I have ever dealt with. I was honest with the hotel clerk about the number of guests we had and from that moment the manager was disrespectful and judgemental and kept telling us how many guests were aloud in the rooms. It was almost a $1000.00 for one room for two nights which included a bed room with two beds a living area with a sofa bed, a mini fridge and a very small bathroom. He went as far as to point a camera at our room from his pickup truck and watched us enter our room. Ten minutes after we entered our room the manager knocked on our door complaining that we had to many people in the room. We had 6 people that were staying at the room and two family guests that were going to the beach with us and home at the end of the day. We never ended up staying at the ocean 7 motel they ruined our whole Saturday afternoon. Also the room size was small for the amount of money they are asking. We wound up finding a room two blocks away that was slightly cheaper and 120 percent nicer and at least 3 times the size and there was no extra charge for extra guests. They slept at least 8 people we got two rooms for less then one at Ocean 7 motel. The rooms at the Watson Regency hotel were luxury compared to the rooms at the Ocean 7 motel, The Watson had a full kitchen, dinning area, living room, balcony and you know the rest. I hope that an owner of the Ocean 7 motel contacts me so that I can tell them everything that happened with this manager from the Ocean 7 motel, oh and I almost forgot he was obviously a President Trump hater, my son was wearing a President Trump 2020 hat and he made it a point to try and intimidate him, talking down to him. My only suggestion is that management be more welcoming and friendlier. It would go a long way. The motel has a very generous and thoughtful and personal, homey vibe otherwise. Great for families. Accommodation: I think these are rented. condominium units. Ours had a very worn sofabed and very worn bedspreads. The linens were clean but the sofa fabric and bedspreads and blankets were not freshly cleaned. I think this is on the unit owner rather than motel staff. A nice pool. Thoughtfully arranged lobby with accessories for kids. It seemed as if no one had cleaned the laundry room in a long while. An empty pizza box with crusts and flies around it sat near the hallway trash for a full day into the next morning. Would return, knowing more clearly what to expect. We rented here recently. And this place is fairly clean, but outdated. The duvet had some minor permanent stains on it. Room comes with a kitchenette along with utensils, dishes and pots/pans. It is super close to the board walk and ocean. It has a pool. Access from the room is easy few steps to get there. This place is quirky and kind of grows on you. At night for example, when the pool closes they put in huge floating cock roaches. There is an aquarium in the lobby with jelly fish, with names. The staff are super friendly and personable. The elevator we just stopped using as there is one and it is slow. They provide beach tags for those renting rooms. There are umbrellas for rainy days available in the lobby. Games and movies available in the lobby. So this is an average Ocean City motel that is not super expensive. It is about what I expected. Would I rent a room again? I don't know, the quirky nature of it kind of makes it worth it. If the rooms were updated it would be an awesome place. read more

We are first time vacationers to OCNJ and tried to research as best we knew how to have our first family vacation for our family of 4. Traveling was myself and my husband plus 2 kids under 6. We rented unit 310 based on the photos. The photos make the units appear larger (at least in our opinion). Upon arrival we were surprised how small everything was. I will give an honest review of our experience to help others who wish to vacation here in the future. Pros: The location cannot be beat. The property is located directly between Wonderland and Oc Waterpark right off the boardwalk on 7th street. You can walk to George's for breakfast and to the beach and boardwalk in ten seconds! The unit was upgraded and the linens were adorable. The front desk people were so nice and the mug you got at check out was adorable. Really sweet. Mike the maintenance helper was awesome and responded quickly for any issues, plus fixed my beach cart when I didn't even ask. Just a really great person. Thank you!! Cons: I think the management knows their stellar location will keep their units rented and unfortunately does not give the necessary attention to important detail. When we arrived the room really wasn't clean. We don't eat Chex mix. As soon as I walked in I saw Chex mix under the couch. I moved the couch and found even more Chex mix and dust/dirt. I found dust/dirt in the bedroom under the desk and along baseboards throughout the unit. So as soon as I got there I just started sweeping. I have two young kids and cleanliness is so important to me but especially when I have kids there. Then I noticed that the front windows were covered in finger prints and mouth marks from kids but it was inside the unit, not outside. Ew!!! So I cleaned it all. I had to call for a new shower curtain the first time we used the shower because I didn't want anyone to touch it. It was all moldy. I wiped makeup smears off of walls and doors in the bathroom and sink areas. On the mattress box springs near the floor I saw some stains. With regards to these cleanliness issues, when I go on vacation I am expecting conditions that are professional... not less clean than my home. I am not expecting to have to start cleaning when I get there. So that was really disappointing. I would expect a thorough cleaning after each guest checks out. Additional things we noticed... the microwave was wonky. If you didn't push the door shut in a special spot it wouldn't run. The mini fridge is not sufficient for a family. The setup of the unit is not conducive to a family either and honestly would even be tough for two people. The bathroom hardly has enough room to turn around in, let alone change clothes. The sink is outside the bathroom and directly across from the kitchen sink. The bathroom sink / kitchenette area is a breezeway to the bedroom. It is so small you can't even get by if another person is using the area. We kept tripping on eachother. The management is very specific that it is a non smoking property but there were smokers everywhere. The a/c units are SO LOUD in the unit. We could barely hear eachother or the tv. About tv... when we got there one didn't work. It was fixed immediately after I called but disappointing that we had to even call. There was basic cable without even a guide, no HD, only a DVD player in the bedroom. At night my kids and I want to watch tv and they were ok because I brought movies for their room but for me it was pretty bad with no Living room DVD player, no smart tv to stream, no guide and only a few channels. The remotes were both difficult to get to do what you wanted. WiFi did not work properly. On two occasions the maid did not empty the trash. With the cleanliness problems I am extremely thankful there were no bugs. Pool was okay, just basic. The elevator must be original to the building and takes soooo long to arrive. It could really use replacement. Parking is hard to navigate with very small spaces making me a bit claustrophobic. You can hear everything your neighbors do and smell everything they cook. You can hear them taking a shower so loudly. We paid ~$1600 for a Monday to Friday stay and I think that the main reason for this price is the location alone. The property really does not provide the comforts of home so we returned during the day on July 4 because we missed those comforts. I would not stay here again and would instead look to stay farther from the boardwalk in order to afford more comfortable accommodations. read more

I have to say that my stay was not the greatest. There was no hot water the first night and no one even informed us until I went downstairs to complain. Then I asked for towels and I was questioned by them saying " dont you have towels"?. Well yes I do for 4 people and 6 are in my room. Then I asked for blankets and was told dint know if we have any. Had a separate bedroom with two queen beds that we put the kids to sleep in and played cards at the table in the front room. In order to be absolutely fair, this review will be in two parts. There are two very separate Ocean 7 Condominiums at this one location. The economical family rooms and the "décor" rooms: Room 208...$280/night for 3 adults and 2 children. 2 Double beds, kitchenette and pull-out couch. 2 TV's, Dvd player, stocked cabinets, clean sheets. Oh, and every form of bacteria known to man. While the overall quality of this room allows it to fall into the generous category of "OK", it was hard to appreciate due to the immense gross factor caused by a smelly, dirty, stained carpet that felt moist, stains on the very, very old and crappy couch/pull-out bed and general scuzziness of whole place- I didn't even want to breathe there let alone sleep. So we stayed two nights in this room and suffered through. 1 Star for this room. It was way overpriced and the filthiest room I've ever been in- and that's coming from a retired partier rebel teenager from rural PA. Avoid these rooms if you value your health. We decided to stay another night and requested an upgrade. ---the positive in the interim--- -2.00/day for the WiFi was fine, and the front desk guy even waived it for me, but that's likely because he knows it's a useless service that didn't really work. -We had a hard time getting into our very super tiny parking spot that came with the room so they let us park in a more comfortable spot. -This place is as close to the boardwalk as you can get without being right on top of it. -The pool is warm and the office staff was overall very nice and accommodating. The poor quality rooms are not entirely their fault as they are individually owned. Room 417: We requested our room upgrade, referencing our displeasure with the current room, and they let us in on a little secret; the secret of the "Décor" suites. They'll cost a little more, we were told... but we were given a decent deal. I was only surprised that this room, while smaller, was actually $80.00 CHEAPER than our larger, yet extremely dirty, disappointing room. Appears they take advantage of larger families who only need 1 or 2 nights who trust they're getting their money's worth based on website pics...Anyway... SOLD. It was like entering an alternate universe. We'd crawled through the trenches and this was our reward. There was the faint sound of birds chirping and harp melody as we opened the door and let the room embrace our little family. There was a perfect view of the beach right from our cozy, immaculate beds, complimented by fresh carpet, a spotless bathroom and kitchenette, and little beach-y items lovingly placed. 4 stars for this room. So to average this out, that would mean 2.5 stars. I SO WISH I could do 3.5 stars mainly based on the pleasure of the 2nd room and the kindness of the staff but alas, I cannot. So 3 it is. Would I stay here again? If the price is right, I would only consider a décor room. I stayed at the Watson's Regency a few months ago and their facilities are cleaner, prices comparable. I am a 3rd generation ocean city goer(not a shoebie).. with my busy work schedule it hard to take a vacation anymore unlike my childhood years up until age 22 having a memorial day till labor day summer rented single home in the gardens section of ocean city.. I happend to get an extra day off of work last week and decided to suprise my wife and children by booking a room at the ocean 7 in ocean city.. At first when I called and was misleaded by the front desk about how nice this "suite" room was i amazed at the total price with tax being 249.00...wow!! super expensive for only one night with a check in time of 3pm and a check out time of 11am... I figured it wasnt a big deal being i havent took an overnight get-away at the shore in over a year... Oh by the way, the website is super misleading and the pictures are not really what the rooms look like... Our check in started off by the cleaning crews old beat up minivan being parked in our "reserved room spot #403".. We used the luggage carrier(witch was old, stained, and dirty)to take our bags up to the 4th floor..no one even asked us for any assistance with the bags.. remember $249 for 1 night....The moment we walked into the room my wife looked at me and said " this place is a disgusting dirty dump, lets get out of here now!!!! I wish i would of listened to her.. it was already lunchtime and the kids wanted to go to the beach.. so i convinced my wife to step actually into this bates motel, outdated, dirty, smelly, small, crime scene looking room figuring again, " its only for 1 night, we are only gonna be in this room to sleep and I already paid for it." At that time we quickly put our bags in the room,lotioned the kids up and went straight to the beach.. The beach was great, water was warm, we went up to have pizza on the boards for lunch at the most famous pizzarea at the Jersey shore( which i was also a pizza maker there for 10 yrs..) We got back to room to shower and change for the boardwalk..We would not take our sandals off in the room because the carpet had to be origional( at least 20 yrs old) was filthy..We didnt even let the kids sit on the couch in the room because of the fear of the cleanliness of the room..so they sat out front and played their portable video games..We used the sink to brush our teeth and the water clogged up to the top and wouldnt go down.. At that point I went down to the main lobby ( with flys flying around inside) to let the front desk know how unhappy we were with the actual room for the price..and also to tell them that the sink was clogged and I just wanted to let them know so I wouldnt be held responsible...The front desk told me, "These rooms are owned by individual people and they would make a note of it and let the owner know." The ocean 7 failed to tell us that the rooms were each privately owned nor does the website disclose this... Shouldn't they have told me that before swiping my credit card for the deposit??? We then went to the boardwark, did the rides, had dinner and ice cream and got back to the room around 11;30 pm or so.. We wanted to try to get the kids ages 8 and 3 yrs to bed knowing check out was 11am and we had a fun filled beach, golf, and possible water park day planned for tomorrow...THIS IS WHERE THE NIGHTMARE GETS WORSE;;;; As we laid in bed forcing ourselves to fall asleep being uncomfortable in the dingy room.. I began to feel itching and biting on my arms, and legs..I then took the covers off and tryed to ignore it thinking it was my mind playing tricks on me.. 5 minutes later my 8yr old who was laying in the same bed as me said, ' Dad, do you feel something strange about this room?" At that moment we all jumped out of our beds and immediately put the lights on to notice a swelling bite on my wifes legs with a rash forming around it.... We then realized the room was infested with "BED BUGS!!!!" We lifted up the mattresses to see them crawling around.. We quickly packed up everything and also took pictures of the bugs and bites....I immediatly went to the front desk and showed the woman the pictures of the bites and rash that was forming on my wifes legs that i took with my camera phone 5 minutes previous.. It was now around 1am or later and I was at the front desk with my petrified 8 year old son requesting my money be refunded on my credit card.. The woman then call the rude and arrogant manager who had no sympathy for myself, wife and children.. He told me there was nothing he could do for me and wouldnt give me a refund!!! At that point point I told him " I will call the police and also call the local news channel!!! He then offered me the room exactly next store that was just as dirty as the one we were in..At that point I dialed 911...The ocean city police dept arrived around 1:45 am and tried to handle the matter..To make a long story short.." we never got our money back.. our kids are terrified to go to bed now.. and our luggage is still in black trash bags.STAY AWAY! read more

Close to the boardwalk, a parking spot for each room, a heated pool, a nice sized room with a kitchen (that was stocked with pots and pans, silverware, glass, and dishware). Room was very clean. I've stayed at this hotel in the past but after reading some of the reviews below I was hesitant to return. However, I just stayed here with my family and we had a great experience. The staff in the lobby were courteous and professional. And there were no bedbugs as others have previously complained about. I was told that the exterminator comes on a regular basis to treat the rooms (as is the case at every hotel and motel in America). Certain rooms are better than others because they are actually condo units. Some owners have gone the extra mile and done some renovations and decorating so you'll pay extra for these rooms. DVD rentals and board games are provided free of charge downstairs. And they have snacks available for next to nothing in the lobby. Now, is it the Ritz Carlton? No, definitely not. But for a motel by the beach, it's excellent. read more

Pros: Location is literally right next to the boardwalk, really nice pool, great for kids Cons: Bed bugs I stayed at The Ocean 7 with my family last week and thought it was your average beach motel with a great location and a nice pool. Imagine my utter horror when I woke up with bites all over my hands and feet and face! I was in denial for a few hours but when I came back to the room I found a bed bug crawling on the curtain. I had never seen one before so I had to google it to be certain. We left that morning and when I approached the manager to alert him he told me that they had the rooms examined regularly. I had about ten visible bites on my body and that was his response! CLEARLY DESPITE THEIR PRECAUTIONS THERE WERE BED BUGS. After his lackluster response, we went home and threw out everything that couldn't be washed and dried on hot so as to not bring them into our home. I cannot in good conscience recommend this motel to anyone. read more

Skip this place. We made a reservation for 3 nights and wanted to cancel within the time frame acceptable on the contract and they did not honor there end. They will lock you in and make you pay for your reservation even if you cancel by the time listed in your contract and despite a tropical storm coming. UPDATE: Shortly after this review, the Board of Directors for the Ocean 7 property (owners of the actual rooms / condos) reached out to me to inquire about our experience. They have been incredibly helpful, understanding and sympathetic to our experience with the management company of the property. Since my review, the full charges have been refunded. We stayed 3 nights in August 2015, in an ocean view room on the upper floor, and it worked out great. For those who typically stay in fancy suites at the Hilton, let's start by saying that the hotels in Ocean City are not "top tier" hotels that line the beach, they are your basic beach hotel that are near the beach, so this review takes that into account. So this hotel is not a fancy renovated Holiday Inn or anything (no breakfast, no fancy lounge area, one small elevator but just use the stairs!), but it is clean and it's almost right on the beach and the boardwalk, so a very convenient location. The kids enjoyed the stay, and enjoyed the pool as well. They give you free beach tags, there is a DVD player in the room (bring DVDs!), but the wifi is slooooow (and not free). So for us, it was a convenient hotel that does the job well, and I would go again next year. read more

Just stayed here over the long 4th of July weekend. This is our sixth summer visiting this motel. Each time we have stayed we had a great experience. I read the review below about bed bugs this year after we had booked this summer and was a little nervous about going back this year. We found NO bed bugs! Actually the rooms have always been super clean and the maid service is great. We always pay extra to get a decorator room or decorator suite. This is the way to go even if it costs more. Each room is a condo separately owned by different owners so by uprgrading to a decorator suite you know you're going to be getting better quality rooms. The carpets were clean, no mold anywhere, the bed was uncomfortable though. That is my only complaint. But if your looking for a clean motel, with friendly staff, and the best location you can get then this hotel is for you! read more

I cannot endorse this hotel. There was a terrible stench in the elevator as well as the stair well. The AC was covered in part by the drapes. My wife used safety pins to pin up the drapes so the air could circulate. We have stayed in 4 hotels/motels in 3 different states this summer and this is the first one which did not include a continental breakfast and charged for wifi. I paid the wifi fee but I was not told that there was a charge on each unit needing wifi. I discovered this when I signed on one unit of which I use sparingly. So I had the option of paying the fee again - which I didn't - and therefore was unable to use my laptop. The reason I did not pay for the second unit was not the cost - but the principal. All I received was "Sorry" you weren't told. The room - as well as other areas of the hotel - need painting. If you can put up with the above for a very short distance to the boardwalk and ocean then go for it. Personally I will drive a short distance for the boardwalk and ocean for cleanliness. On a positive note, on checking out the manager did write down my issues. I will not be back to see if anything has changed. Ray of Sellersville, PA read more

Don't stay here. Booked through booking.com, 1st mistake. Price far exceeded what we got!!! Pieces of vertical blinds kept falling. Room small and not real clean. They were forced to upgrade our room. Manager not too customer friendly... think twice. read more

Mouse (black) in room (302) on day 2 of stay that involved 20 plus family members. Then we discovered glue traps, which means they have an infestation problem they were aware of that we were not. I approached Mark the manager and told him about it, about how it had ruined the vaca for my wife and how we were trying to keep it from the kids. Aside from that, room was very dirty, towels were often not delivered, I had to empty my own garbage (I actually brought dirty towels and garbage to the lobby the 2d day this happened).I asked Mark what do they usually do and he said "put new glue traps". I thought what they would do is comp us the two remaining nights. We had no where else to go and it was a family reunion we do every year. They didn't comp us. Instead, the hotel clerk complained to Mark that I was loudly talking about the problems so other people could hear in the lobby. However, these were my cousins who all knew about the problem. I deliberately made sure that no one checking in heard my complaints -- the only people around I was talking to were family members who were with a 20+ person group and they knew about the mouse when it happened. Ultimately, the manager gave us two night's worth of gift certificate; when we said we won't be coming back, he hinted he would have done more if I hadn't complained loudly to his desk clerk (which I didn't and he wasn't there-- but it was my 3d time down to the desk, so I wasn't happy). The maid service was really, really bad and never on time. If I can upload pictures, you can see what I mean. Anyway, I contacted the state to lodge a formal complaint based on the rodent infestation issue that we knew nothing of until we found glue traps. The gift certificate will be an "exhibit" so to speak as we seek some form of compensation for the, sad to say, worst Ocean City experience we've ever had. We have traveled internationally and we routinely read and post on travel websites and I have to say I've never written a review like this one. STAY AWAY from this hotel...many of the trip advisor reviews are suspicious because they are all by single posters. The place is dirty and the staff not accommodating in our experience. read more
