TBH, this might be the best primary care I've ever actually experienced, including times when I did have health insurance. They charge me a monthly membership fee. I have been able to get care for various things, like when I had Covid, or when I needed lab work, & also dealing with GAD. Staff is amazing. Staff at the front desk is always friendly. It's a friendly and pleasant place to go. I've never waited longer than ten minutes in the waiting room. They are located downtown, just a couple minutes from the square. I really like SHELBY ALLEN, their Nurse Pract. I've seen her multiple times, she makes me feel really comfortable and she is wicked smart. I strongly recommend Walden to anyone in Ocala. And if you generally hate going to a doctors office, or find it stressful, Walden will probably change that for you.

I had the same provider for both annual exams, Natesha Vaillancourt. My first visit was okay. I mean when is a pap pleasant? I was informed that since I was over 40 years old, they needed to check for something in the stool. Uh okay? Maybe this is normal procedure but how come no one tells you this crap? No pun intended! Vaillancourt was pleasant but I felt kind of dismissed at times during our conversation. Typical of being a woman when dealing with healthcare. My second annual pap involved the same procedure. This visit has stuck with me throughout the year. I do not exaggerate and I do understand how sometimes there is provider/ patient misinterpretations but I was legit pissed after a piece of our conversation. She said I do not need to come for a pap every year, especially since I have not had an abnormal pap/HPV present/ biopsy in 6+ years. I reminded her I have type 1 diabetes, which means I am required to see all my specialists at least once a year as precautionary. She said "diabetes has nothing to do with that" and also said my insurance probably will not cover it either. WTF? As far as I knew, as long as a female has insurance, annual wellness exams were covered and preventative care. But wait, there's more! After I scheduled with another office this year and missed the appointment because they misinformed me of the appointment time, I went back to this place. I attempted to make the appointment a week earlier by coming in person to speak to them due to calling three times and no answer. I was told "oh we would have had to cancel that appointment anyway and she is not here for the next four days." Uh when were you going to let me know? Especially since this was within a week and they did nit gave any openings until May? Last kick in the ass was my appointment card that was given to me the previous year said 4pm but when I attempted initially to sign into the portal to do any of this, the appointment said 12pm. When I asked, I was told "yeah they changed it but they would have called you" and of course I never received any call. So lesson learned. I will now travel to Gainesville or further to receive proper healthcare because Ocala is beyond horrible.

When I called, I made it clear I suffer and have all my life. No mention was ever made nor was I asked if I have seen a chiropractic doctor for my issues. The "free" consultation is used as bait to get you in. This is two chiropractors (who may be great for other conditions, I'm not saying this office doesn't offer quality care), with a representative MD for Florida. A chain office. The overall sensitivity towards what they offer is negligible. Seems as thought they will say what they need to to get you in the door. So sick of medical offices doing this. Someone with migraines needs a neurologist and team of genuine experienced experts in MIGRAINE care, not headache caused by neck stiffness or pain. The stress of falling for this has sent me into a massive migraine attack. The lack of empathy is completely insane. They have no idea what they are claiming to treat. If you have migraines, do not think this is first stop or will even help. It'll probably stress you out to deal with this crud. See a neurologist BEFORE A CHIROPRACTOR, and do not give up. I have now seen several of the rotating Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners, and every one of them has been warm, friendly, professional, and easy to talk to. I don't know how many they have on staff but they seem to have enough to serve everybody who comes in and very promptly as well. Overall bedside manner is warm, friendly, and genuinely interested in helping you. I never feel rushed through an appointment. My most recent visit involved what I believed was an ear infection, but it turned out to be more of an ear pH imbalance and irritation issue rather than anything severe. It is the kind of condition that can often be treated with simple over-the-counter remedies, yet it still helps to have a qualified medical provider evaluate it properly and point you in the right direction. Obviously, urgent care does not replace having a primary care physician. However, if you have no health insurance, very often you do not have a primary care physician either. That is the reality for millions of people who are unemployed, between jobs, self-employed, or simply not earning enough to absorb the monthly cost of a health plan. In the age of AI and economic disruption, more people are slipping through the cracks of healthcare than many care to admit. I do not currently make enough money to comfortably carry a monthly insurance plan, and I am not old enough for the next chapter of life, which is the Medicare age. Until then, clinics like Doctors Urgent Care provide an important bridge with reasonable self-pay pricing and accessible care. In a healthcare system wrought with obsessively high insurance costs and pharmaceutical companies earning billions each year while many Americans struggle to afford the basic necessities of life... this business is genuinely helping to fill an important gap for many people, which is why those five-star reviews continue.
