Then they wondered why 3 days later I attempted suicide. After that, they discharged me from the practice and had law enforcement serve me with a trespass warning. Was that really necessary? I should have sued them for malpractice. In 10 years there, I had never told them I was so suicidal that I had a plan. I wasn't thinking straight enough to make good decisions, so I didnt want to go to the hospital. They should have Baker Acted me....not send me home. They never even called to check on me. I guess they are used to getting away with this sort of thing. One day they are going to get sued and the patients family will put them out of business. What ever happened to the portion of The Original Hippocratic Oath that says, "...I will do no harm or injustice to them"? Dr. Byrd and his entire practice should be shut down, in my opinion. I pray to God that no other patient has to suffer thru something like this.
