This review is long over due. I had a loved one at this residential care home for 10 months. The…read moreowners also have a non-emergency medical transport business. Room and board with meals, care and medication management. The meals they provided were not balanced, not nutrient rich - all processed, all white/beige food items, no fresh items. The house looks like it needs a good power wash. Filth in the corners of the floors. The kitchen is a hoarder's mess. I'm sure it wouldn't pass a heath inspection. My dad had a hoarding problem and the care givers at the home added fuel to the fire by allowing every package that was delivered to the house into his room. There was only a narrow path of space that allowed his wheelchair to move to and from the bathroom into the room. All other space, including the bed, was filled with packages and crap. I came often for visits and would fill my car and asked multiple times to please stop putting the boxes in his room. Please refuse the packages upon delivery. He ordered food items and misc supplies. They allowed him to order cookies, candy, etc (as a diabetic) and delivered it to his room. The day it was decided that hospice care was needed, the home attendant handed me the phone and said, "The owner wants to speak to you..." She asked me for a check for medical transport. I was shocked at the timing of the request as I was just hit with the news of hospice. I said I don't appreciate the timing of your request and I would like receipts for all the transport you're expecting payment for. Minutes later I walked towards my dad's room to see the owner's husband delivering a bag of fast food to my dad. My dad was clearing in no state to eat and in incredible pain - and the clueless husband just kept saying I picked up some food for you! The hospice nurses said it was their recommendation to move my dad b/c the home wasn't safe for my dad. They discovered bed sores and open wounds with infection. I found another home to move him to but unfortunately he passed before we could move him. I noticed he had a dose of pills on his table and I wondered how long they had been there. They didn't supervise him taking pills, they just left the pills in his room. My dad was no longer swallowing so I know they had been there a few days. When I returned post-passing, they were gone. When I came to clear his belongings I asked where his Apple watch was. It was taken. I asked the hospice nurses and company and they said the watch was never present when they arrived so it was taken before they started care. I asked the care givers and the home owner - it just happened to disappear. The worst part of this was the owner charged my dad's credit card the day after he died for almost $7K in medical transport without every providing me with receipts. I spoke to her on the phone (Erleen Rinehart) and she said she would get me the receipts. She never provided proof of transport, never had receipts with signature, never called me again or sent any documents - she just charged his credit card, knowing he had already passed away. They are dishonest and unethical in their bill practices. I would never recommend this home to anyone for senior care.
