There are 3 small rooms on the first floor surrounding a giant warehouse (where the most impressive finds are), plus a small upstairs area. The most jaw-dropping thing I saw was an intricately-carved wood bed from the late 1600s; it was a sort of canopy bed but also had partial walls all the way around, giving the impression of a small room. I've never seen anything like it. I'm betting that they get a good chunk of business from the nearby studios; this would be prop heaven for many a period piece. The ladies on duty Friday mentioned that they get a lot of professional decorators in as well. Speaking of the ladies, even though it became painfully apparent right away that my mom and I couldn't afford to shop there, they were still friendly and shared interesting stories about some of the pieces we were looking at. I really appreciated that they didn't dismiss us as looky-loos. This is not a store for the average Joe. This is a store for the discerning collector, who would have no trouble finding an awe-inspiring, one-of-a-kind treasure.

Table top pieces such as lamps and statues, along with lots of beautiful mirrors. Doris, the owner, is very kind and informative. There is a parking lot on the property, but there is also metered parking on Jefferson.

It is truly…read morevast and contains a very wide variety of artifacts from a) a very wide range of countries and b) a fairly wide variety of time periods. You can easily spend a couple hours in here. Victorian china and silverware? Check. Scandinavian ceramics? Check. Southeast Asian statues? Check. This is a place where it really pays to look carefully. There jewelry collection is pretty substantial and has a wide variety of pieces. I had one find that blew me away: an Ancient Roman bronze belt buckle that had been turned into a pendant. Circa 100 CE. Pretty sure it was the oldest thing in the building, but I can't be absolutely sure. The employees were delightful to talk to and were very helpful on getting prices and showing me things in display cases. I got into a long conversation with an art historian over the aforementioned belt buckle. Prices range. I bought a pair of beautiful pillows for under 35 dollars. But there are some pieces here that are either so rare, unusual or simply intrinsically valuable that they are going to be an investment. This is by no means a thrift-store. Will definitely return.

It's a huge 16,000-square-foot space full of some modern, mostly vintage and some antique home goods, books and accessories. Important to know going in - This isn't Goodwill, it's more high end second hand shopping in Venice! However it's not as high end as a gallery and has no pretentious vibes. It feels comfortable walking around to scope things out. They have their own small parking lot but it fills up quickly and then cars camp for spots on the weekends. I've found that the earlier you go, the better. They have really cool pieces, unique items and everyone I encountered was friendly and eager to assist. They say they have 100 dealers there! The space is well organized so you don't feel claustrophobic despite being surrounded by stuff. Very cool space I'll be back to! They also list items on ebay!

If fact, not only were there no bargains, but there was not a single item for sale, not "on sale", but "for sale". I checked Pepe's Thrifty Shop's web site and the days and hours of operation are as follows, "Mon-Fri 10 am - 6 pm Sat 10 am-6 pm Sun Closed" (in cut-and-pasted format, from their web site). I made a trip to Pepe's Thrifty Shop to spend hundreds of dollars on furniture, but could not even get by the door. Oddly, Pepe not only closed up shop, but specifically closed for business from December 24, 2025 through January 11, 2026. It must be great to be able to go on vacation for 2 1/2 weeks, but what I seriously find fault with Pepe, is that they failed to include this enormous period of closure on their web site, so my trip as well as a trip for many others, was wasted! Pepe, I am disappointed in you and this error of consideration for your customers, is awful. I sure hope you enjoy your vacation Pepe, but you may have lost several, if not many customers, as a result.
