This is the older of two Market Basket grocery stores in the area. They offer bakery services, a…read moredeli, prepared foods and 'meals to go' to heat at home, beer and wine, frozen foods, butcher counter, seafood, cheeses and lots of dairy. There is a health and beauty aisle as well as paper products and storage needs. Seasonally they offer items such as bug spray in warm weather and ice melt in winter. There is a small organic produce area as well as other organic items scattered throughout the store. They also offer alternative milk products. Their inventory covers most everything you could want and they have their own brand which saves some money. Gift cards are always available in whatever denomination you choose. Seasonal food items are often located toward the front of the store such as holiday candy and sometimes small gift items. Fresh flowers are located near produce. Lots of parking. Shopping carts are inside.

I have never been so angry, and no they don't do anything to resolve the issue. This is NOT the first time either, I thought I would give them another chance hoping they improved but I was sadly wrong. I placed an order and I received a text saying they started shopping, about 5 minutes into it I received a text saying they were out of an item and press here to chat. I pressed the button and received a text saying my order was complete. It was less than 2 minutes and I have the time log to prove it. Therefore there was no way to pick another item. I am not upset that an item was out of stock, I was more upset that when I call and spoke with them he blamed the computer, told me that it wasn't the fault of anyone it was the computer. People place orders online to pick up for many reasons most of them because they physically cannot get into the store to shop for themselves. We pay extra for this service and expect some sort of communication when you need a specific item and need to chat with that shopper. Nope nothing from Shaws of course it's not their fault it was the customer that was wrong. So basically if you are unable physically to go into the store and need to pick up items go to Hannafords instead. Their customer service is better and they are willing to help the consumer. Common sense says if you buy something online this is where you go get your merchandise. Nope. This is where you go to get your online grocery order. Walmart how much of your business is online grocery pick up in comparison with non-grocery items? I know for me personally when I grocery shop I don't think Walmart. Customer Service is dependent on the person waiting on you. I entered my order at the customer service kiosk and waited..waited..waited. The store greeter saw me waiting and when I asked she wouldn't call anyone to help me. Poor attitude. I had to go wait in the Customer Service line (and wait yet again). They called for help. Reward your Associates for good performance; it will pay you back ten-fold. Your website is nothing like Amazon. The 'feel' of your stores are like walking into a 1970's K-mart.

Many employees can't understand English and are of no help. There are never enough open registers to check out and Friday thru Sunday forget it - the lines are very long and don't move because there are so few open registers. It's almost all self check out and usually only about 1/2 of the registers are active. I stopped going there on weekends. Many employees really take their time and even congregate to speak among themselves (in some foreign language) while ignoring the customers. The shelves are not properly stocked and prices are not accurate. Sale items are not properly marked; I bought some kitchen items recently that were marked on sale. When I checked out every item rang up at full price not the displayed sale price. The store always seems to be low on stock or running out of things. And I feel like I'm in some foreign country when I'm in the store. Avoid this place if you can.

Very large store with take out foods and convienance grab and go groceries, drinks, beer, wine, ice, and other sundries. There is a nice outside patio with tables and bike racks to sit down and eat (the Rockingham trail trail is behind the store) so they are looking to pull in riders. THe gas here is currently $3.24 for regular. Its 10cents cheaper if you sign up for their membership program (similer to Irving and Cumberland Farms). Service was pleasant.

Only slightly annoying thing about this store is where they decided to place their restrooms. It might just be due to me being so used to going to the Hudson location. But it's not every day that Hannaford places their restrooms on the far right corner toward the front of the store. I dunno. Perhaps they were emulating themselves after Shaw's in the Derry plaza. ¯\_( ° °)_/¯ One last anecdote I'd like to highlight is their parking lot design. Not all Hannafords have this. But there's a section of parking lot on the side which leads to another exit way that leads directly up to NH-102E. Complete with its own cart receptacle. It's just like the setup they have at their respective Market Basket and I'm all for it! So, now that I have secured 2 alternative locations to refill water from, I can rest assured that regardless of how many months/years/decades it takes Hudson to repair their broke ass machine, my family and I will not die of dehydration anytime soon. And I'm giving Hannaford in Londonderry 5 conveniently accessible water refill stations out of 5.

The man behind the counter appeared to be inconvenienced when he actually had to get out of his chair to process my purchase. After putting my change on the counter instead of handing it to me, he never spoke throughout the transaction, nor did he acknowledge that I actually thanked him and went back to his chair. Customer service results in repeat customers, I guess he doesn't understand that or even cares.

So being that I was in Salem I decided to stop in. It was great to see that they had fresh, leafy lettuce, mint, and radishes. There were some very good looking strawberries. But I passed on them in need of vegetables & herbs. If I'm not mistaken each item I bought was $ 1.00 it just over it. * They do NOT take credit cards... Cash or check only. And just so you know there is no ATM close by that I know of. Anyway, what I got for the amount I paid I feel was a real bargain for fresher produce than at the supermarket! I wish I lived closer... I would stop in 1-2 times a week!
