Oh Oasis, full of humdrum clothes for the easily satisfied, disillusioned or those that don't know any better yet. Like Warehouse, nothing ever changes, even with the seasons the collection is predominantly made up of black and grey office-wear, uninspiring tunics and fitted dresses deficient in any colour or pioneering style. It's quite funny how it can be so reliably un-daring and lackluster yet still draw a large following.
I don't dislike it as much as Warehouse however as every now and again, unlike its consistently insipid high street ally it does throw up something noteworthy such as a recent 'Digital Galaxy Print Dress' - a very interesting asymmetrically cut printed dress or occasionally some pleasant occasion wear, but other than that it's pretty forgettable. What aggravates me is how when they label something as 'embellished' by name such as 'Embellished Printed Shift Dress' or 'Embellished Fitted Top', it just means that they have added sequins to an unadorned design to create something that is hereafter larger-than-life in their delusional mindset. Dublin is bursting with shops selling innovative clothing at cheaper prices. This would certainly be the route I would go down instead of wasting my time within a store that offers such uninspiring clothes. read more
