It is on Central Avenue, which is not the most picturesque artery in Charlotte, but saying it is in a "bad neighborhood," could not be farther from the truth. We live 5 minutes away, in what I would call a very nice neighborhood. The only complaint I have is that the parking lot is insufficient for the number of patients who might have an appointment at any given time, but there is parking on the side streets. The dentist always spends time to answer any questions I have and address any concerns and the hygenists are all very good with my young children. The patient base seems very diverse, owing in no small part I imagine to the fact that all of the staff I have encountered are bilingual. If this place is convenient to you, I highly recommend it.

The location is in a really cool old building (not your standard office) and there is just a very welcoming demeanor. The staff went above and beyond, the customer service is totally on point and they didn't guilt trip me because I have cavities and don't floss twice a day. I did end up having to get a lot of work done and they were a tremendous help figuring out the best surgeon for my budget and insurance and even worked out a payment plan so that I could get everything fixed and not go completely broke. Not once did he stop to ask if I was okay or even guide me through the process. This is the 3rd time I get this tooth fixed cause I've broken it before and not ONCE did I have a dentist be so rough on one single tooth. My appointment was for 7am and I arrived around 6:45am. (Pro tip - the elevator doesn't work until about 6:50am, so keep that in mind.) I can't recall the name of the lady at reception but she was very friendly for it to be that early! I filled out my paperwork and was promptly taken into the exam room where x-rays were done. Of course, x-rays are probably the most uncomfortable part of the entire experience (bite wings to be specific.) My hygienist made me feel so comfortable and carried conversation with me! My cleaning went by quickly, most likely due to me watching the television attached to my chair :) Dr. Jesse Walsh came in and did his thing and he was very friendly! He was honest and made everything easy to understand. Oh! They also provide free whitening for LIFE! In a nutshell, City Dental is the most personal and friendly dentist office in Charlotte. I've found a new home and I wish I could come back for a cleaning more than once every six months! I have no cons.. literally can't think of anything. Two thumbs up. 6 stars. I'll be telling all of my friends. Another pro tip - Duck Donuts is right next door. But don't go there until AFTER you see Dr. Walsh.

Last week, I called for the soonest appt., was placed on hold after they RUN your insurance. They ask you what type of insurance you have before they even send you the link to fill out any paperwork. But they wait until less than 24 hours before an appointment to let me know that they DO NOT accept my insurance coverage. Offering to "refer" me to another provider. When they could have done that when I called them last week(Monday). It takes them an entire week, to notify you that they do not accept the coverage they take over the phone, when scheduling the appointment. If they did not catch it then, then it certainly should have been evident when they received the completed forms. That is a glimpse into how they run their practice. When it comes to something as sensitive for most patients as Dental Work-the Dentist period... You use your own discernment to advise if you want an office that aren't competent enough to complete something as simple as a new patient registration, in your mouth with instruments. Because just as that was missed, they could have overlooked one of my allergies that were written on the same form as my dental insurance coverage. As a result, I wouldn't trust any place they referred me to either.
