The journey itself adds a sense of adventure, and like all the best hidden gems, Curley's rewards the curious traveler. We stopped in on Easter Sunday, a day when most other places were closed, and were warmly welcomed with the scent of fresh coffee and baked goods. The front counter employee was bubbly and informative about their baked goods selection. We tried the maple coffee and a classic drip--both rich, smooth, and clearly brewed with care. The scone was buttery and perfectly crumbly, and the apple turnover was a standout: flaky, not overly sweet, and filled with just the right amount of spiced apples. The atmosphere is cozy, unpretentious, and full of small-town charm. Whether you're passing through or looking for a destination to seek out, Curley's Coffee is a delightful surprise in the quiet corners of southern Arizona.

Pumps fired up without any nonsense. No card errors, no weird lag, just in and out. That alone earns points when you've been on the road for a while. Inside was better than I expected for a place this remote. Clean floors, shelves actually organized, not that picked-over, end-of-the-day look you sometimes get. Grabbed a drink, wandered for a minute, and didn't feel like I had to keep my guard up or rush out. The guy behind the counter had that easygoing, small-town vibe. We exchanged a few words, nothing deep, but it felt genuine. Not scripted, not forced. Just normal human interaction, which is weirdly refreshing when you've been bouncing from stop to stop. Bathroom was clean enough that I didn't hesitate, which is about the highest compliment I can give a gas station bathroom. Only reason I'm stopping at four stars is because, well, it's still a gas station in the desert. It's not a destination. But for where it is, it's solid across the board. If you're coming through Ajo, this is an easy, no-regret stop. I'd pull in again without a second thought.

Both were yummy, not overly sweet which was refreshing. The mango was flavorful and had fresh mango slices inside surrounded by whipped cream. The pina colada had coconut shavings inside the cake, as well as on top. Definitely stop over when you are in town.

I tried their pistachio cold foam latte with half sweet, and it was so good, the cold foam was light and airy, the syrup didn't overpower the taste of coffee. I usually don't drink sweet coffee, just like original hot latte, but I love pistachio so had to tried this, and it was really good. My husband got the hot latte and it was even better. The staff was nice, there was packed in weekend so kinda busy.

They have for here cups which is something I've noticed not a lot of coffee shops around the area carry anymore so that was awesome. The Moroccan latte was a HIT. Everyone was obsessed with this one, we also added pistachio cold foam on top. For the Moroccan we asked for it to be half sweet and it was still pretty sweet so be aware that this one is for the sweet tooth. The pistachio latte was delicious as well. The lemon poppy seed matcha was really good as a matcha, meaning the matcha was delcious and easy to ddrink. Not a lot of lemon flavor in it tho but the quality was good so no complaints. Their pastry selection is lacking however, this might be because we came a little later in the day but there was not a lot of options. The lemon scone was delicous but the raspberry key lime cupcake was far too sweet. However, this was an awesome shop and I would highly recommend it.
