For the price and location, you can't do any better than Oaks Aurora. And while I know bigger isn't always better, let me tell you that I enjoyed every minute of my maaaaahoooosive apartment on the 37th floor. The building still functions as a residential tower - no doubt the original intention - so all of the "rooms" are either 1 or 2-bed apartments with full kitchens. You also get to milk the tenant benefits of a pool, sauna and small gym.
What this also means, however, is that it's more shabby than chic - the carpets could use a good scrubbing, the bathrooms and kitchen are stripped down to their bare minimum, furniture is the epitome of catalogue basic, and any amenities seem like more of an afterthought than a service-orientated gesture.
But let me remind you (and myself at this point) that it's ridiculously affordable. I'm talking 3 nights (Thurs, Fri, Sat) for $509. Total. Don't let the 3-stars fool you, I will certainly be booking here again. And if you too are looking more for practical and affordable than lavish and luxurious, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this spot. read more
