Very good price and pretty good location. If it had a pool I would have given it 5 stars, but I am very happy otherwise

WOW to the WOW WOW!!…read more No words.. No words.... NO WORDS! Just beyond amazing is what I experienced at this hotel. From the moment that you arrive and walk in, you are instantly greeted with inviting smiles and the most relaxing, fruity, pleasant signature Capri by Fraser scent. No, I am not kidding. Each of the Capri by Fraser properties have their own crafted scents that are filtering through the vents and into the hotel lobby air. At this property the scent is a blend of apple blossom, cider wood, ginger flower, lemon and orange... HEAVENLY! I DID NOT want to check in to my room :) The theme of this Capri by Fraser property is feeling like you are in the rainforest. The designer was spot on because that is exactly how my friend and I felt staying here. Being the interior designer that I am, I have an immense appreciation for places with eye catching design and flow. The designers of this hotel (award winning designers ) Ministry Of Design really did an exceptional job on this entire property. The attention to detail they put into this place is off the charts. This place is the definition of trendy and urban chic. MY type of style ;-) So let's continue... The moment you walk into the lobby and to your right is a living vertical garden that is so beautiful and refreshing. To the left of that is the hotel restaurant, Asana by Chef Pete Evans which has a delicious seasonal menu serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was sooo good. On the second floor is the hotel gym, rec area, sauna and pool. All very well maintained with amazing amenities. The pool is a showstopper. My friend and I stayed there and relaxed all day going from pool to sauna and back to pool again. Loved the pool being indoors. It was insanely hot and humid outside! To top it off we had the pool all to ourselves!! :) With this hotel being under a year old, the staff do a great job keeping it extremely clean 24/7. Last but most definitely NOT least.... OUR ROOM! We were up on the 10th floor and had an amazing view of the buildings surrounding us. The room was very spacious with apartment style amenities. Anytime we requested anything, hotel staff would show up within 5 minutes, we didn't have to wait very long. Room service was fast as well and only took 15 minutes to be at our door every time we ordered something. Loved how isolated the sound was in our room. We had the music on very loud at some points throughout our stay and no one called to complain. It was nice to not hear the people next to us either :-p I can't think of one thing that I didn't like about staying at this hotel. I LOVED every part of my stay and the next time I plan on being in Brisbane I will definitely be staying at this place. Almost forgot to mention the concierge here, I forgot his name, he was so attentive to any of our excursion needs as well as any dinner plans that we wanted to make. He was amazing!! We had some excursion cancellations that happened and he was able to find us some other fun things to do and booked it for us within minutes. Super friendly and helpful! I am a FAN. ;-)

The staff were all very friendly, however the place suffered from an odd feeling - for example the buffet breakfast was strangely laid out down a pseudo corridor with the milk being around the corner for your cereal? And the coffee machine being hidden away!

The breakfast that was basically included ($1 extra) was one of the best buffets I ever got in comparatively priced and even pricier hotels (your mileage may wary. I eat a lot.). It is a little bit of a "hop" to the city via the "city hopper" (which is free by the way) but if you check the timetable (unlike us) you get from hotel to Eagle st pier in about 15 minutes tops. Overall one of my favorite places to stay in Brisbane hands down. Their cookies are pretty average though. Honestly not a single thing to nitpick at. The rooms and facilities are great! Although if I must, the choice of large sheets of frosted glass separating the bathrooms from the rest of the room can make room for some amusing situations. It does look pretty slick and modern as the rest of the room, so I digress. In summary, I would definitely recommend.

Luckily they had footage of the 2 preps and it could have much worse. I'm giving them 3 stars because although they were accommodating, they still tried to charge me for food and basic necessities. I understand that this is a business but since they do not have on-staff security to check the doors. Anyone from the street can come in the back entrance and act as a guest. My suggestion is to have a security guard on the ground floor, especially at the back entrance so this cannot ever happen again.

Royal On The Park served as hotel and reception venue for a wedding I attended and it was amazing. The lobby is resplendent in red and I felt enveloped in its charming setup the minute I breezed through its doors. I was impressed from the outset, but it also didn't hurt that we got one of the best suites covering two rooms. Oh, and did I mention we had a butler? His name was Adam and he was marvellous. Be sure to give him a shout if you go there. Not only did he pander to our every request (we girls didn't request much mind, we're not used to being waited on), he also managed to help fix an untimely flower arrangement mix-up in time for the reception. Amazing. I stayed in two types of rooms over a weekend and they were both comfortable with spectacular views of Brisbane city and the Botanical Gardens. The reception hall was excellent for the post-ceremony antics the food was excellent. Plus the waiters were always topping up my champagne glass, so they get a rave review from me. Reception staff are helpful and extremely smartly dressed. It proved to be an ideal setting for a wedding reception and seems like it would be perfect for tourists, given its central location. Easy access and a lovely set up. Royal on the Park has function rooms that can be hired out and their Walnut restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week.

Bath gel that bubbles is one of the sundries provided. My room has a spectacular view of the river and bridge. The service is friendly but I had to call twice for more hangers. Several times the phone rang endlessly when trying to call room service. The front desk finally picked up when calling from the room. I wanted a drink by the pool and no one ever answered the phone so I gave up. I have never experience such difficulties at any other hotel, let alone a luxury hotel. They did send someone right away when my bathroom TV was not working. I did enjoy my week long stay. I am feeling benevolent today so they did not lose a star for not having CNN on the TV. I could not believe my eyes and it took about 5 minutes to sink in. I have never stayed at a hotel without CNN! BBC News was available thankfully. I assume with the choice of 8 FOX stations that the hotel chain is owned by the Murdoch family. I did enjoy the Sky News station. Right wing commentary is more pleasing when the interviewer has an Aussie accent. The concierge, valets, maids and front desk personnel were excellent and accommodating. Management needs to resolve the issues with the room service department ASAP. They are damaging your brand.

Whilst things weren't perfect, they were very close to it, and the parts that weren't were very minor dealt with in a way that was human, rather than rude. I found that the staff really went out of their way to meet all requests. I'm giving this five stars based on a seasonal special on the room. I found The Stamford was a step up from the self rated five stars in Sydney. I'm tempted to remove a star for the excessive internet prices, however it didn't matter too much since I came with WiFi enabled devices. Still, we're in the day and age where 5 star hotels need to provide this service at low or zero cost. Whoever learns this first will have a lot of happy customers. Small things that were pleasant surprises: a Vidal Sassoon 2100 Pro hair dryer dried my hair in two minutes; much nicer that the standard wall mounted mini dryers. A shower rack that would actually hold a thing or two, spare blanket in closet stored in plastic to keep it dust free, saucers in buffet area with a central impression to help support the cup. A phone by the toilet, television in the bathroom, motion detecting lights in the bathroom, Do Not Disturb is controlled by a switch near the bed, fold out minibar with well placed power outlet for kettle, 42" television. Improvements that could be made include more streamlining for Concierge (they seem to do their best, but expect a wait), and changing the repetitive pan pipe music in The Brasserie. The motion detecting lights in The Brasserie toilets don't have motion detectors in the private stalls. If you are in there for 10 minutes or so, the lights go out, and you'll be left in pitch blackness. I had to do a pants down waddle into the main public area of the toilets, and it was so dark I had to feel my way. I thought the oversight was hilarious. More important things: sumptuous beautiful white bedding, beautiful views, polite service. Centrally controlled lamps make for nice lighting.
