I would especially commend Nurse Cassie for service above and beyond. They have social activities that appear to bolster morale and socialization. Although I did not participate in them for my own reasons. They had daily activities and they posted calendars in the rooms listing them. The meals? I do not eat. So I cannot really review them. Except to say they smelled delicious.

After doing my research and getting some crap over the phone from my first choice, I decided to give Piedmont Endocrinology a try. I called and was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. She advised of a recent cancellation and could squeeze me in the following Friday - perfect! She told me I would be seeing Dr. El-Kebbi. I arrived 30 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment to complete all of the new patient paperwork. After I was done, friendly receptionist called me up to the window to advise me that Dr. El-Kebbi was a few minutes behind schedule, but I was his next patient. She apologized for the delay and I went back to playing Jewel Mania. I'm usually super super anal about being on time. Maybe I'm just jaded now because I'm convinced that no doctor is ever on time, but I at least appreciated the fact that she took the time to tell me that he was running a little late. With previous doctors, most just let you sit there until you realize your appointment was supposed to be 45 minutes ago. So 5 or 10 minutes later, I'm called back. I'm taken to an exam room by a super friendly guy who's name escapes me. He also apologizes for the delay and emphasizes that Dr. El-Kebbi really doesn't like being late. We go over some basic info and he advises that the Doc will be in a moment. Let me first say that my previous doctor was a bit standoffish. Nice enough, just didn't seem overly personable or concerned. I experienced the complete opposite with Dr. El-Kebbi. He was warm and friendly and very interested in my medical care. He provided valuable insights into certain aspects of my medical care that I feel were lacking with my previous doctor. I honestly felt like I was speaking with a friend the whole time. There was one awkward moment when he seemed to fail to understand how I could be so certain that I would not be getting pregnant, but we got through that. It's quite funny in retrospect. The whole appointment went exactly how I feel a doctor's appointment should go. I'm almost (but not quite) willing to overlook the tardiness, but we'll see how that goes in future visits. I highly highly recommend Dr. El-Kebbi to anyone in the market for a new endocrinologist.

I arrived for my appointment on Wednesday. Not the greatest drive from Marietta, but worth it. Dr. Patel is my new favorite endo ever. She's young, up to date on the latest research on Thyroid health, and spent real, quality time with me going over my chart and medical history. I was in and out in about an hour (even as a new patient) - including labs. The lab technicians were friendly, quick and painless as was the check out process. Overall, I'm very pleased!

I was having basic flu symptoms- nausea, dizziness, fever, aches, etc. I went in to get a prescription for THE FLU. While I did get in rather quickly, the positive stops there. Once the doctor came into the room she ordered a urine sample (?) and said that I would need a pelvic exam (???) while rudely pushing my husband out the door. She then told me that I needed to be STD tested and proceeded to take all kinds of blood samples. When I told her I was simply there to cure the flu, she shushed me and said that I had something much more serious. While giving the urine sample, I noticed a newly forming rash on my left leg and she told me to ignore that, it wasn't a concern. Lastly, she instructed me NOT to talk with my HUSBAND about the testing, because it would probably cause conflict in my marriage, and she wanted to be able to sleep at night. She sent me out of there with nothing. ....Fast forward to the next day~ rash has broken out all over, and I go to the ER. Sure enough, I was having something more serious than the flu- a severe allergic reaction. This quack should not be in practice! For those of you who go to these Doc-in-the-boxes on a regular basis due to low cost~ STOP! I found an awesome general physician with the same copay as the clinic. Memory care is an absolute nightmare. The floor is like fly paper, they do the laundry, but never even turned the clothes right side out and just stuff them in the drawers, and they have one supervisor that they rely on for seven days a week 24 hours a day. That is an impossible job for anyone and they're too cheap to find extra help. There is very little mental stimulation for the people in memory care. I think it's all about the money and they hope the memory care people don't remember any details to report to their family. The staff doesn't even notice a guest walking in at times. All of them are over in the corner, looking at their telephones. I had walked in more than once to find my family member lying on a bed directly on the plastic! No sheets, no blankets no nothing. We also had numerous pieces of jewelry come up missing from the memory care unit. Granted, we shouldn't have had anything expensive there, but still you like to trust the staff.. Say no to their memory if you love the person you're looking to place there!

TCW has met the challenges head on, and has been proactive in all areas where needed to continue to keep the residents safe and healthy. From delivering meals directly to each resident, ensuring to screen residents for infection, monitoring and cleanliness, following state mandated guidelines, coordinating that all residents are vaccinated and working daily to keep each resident engaged in the community during a global pandemic, I applaud the staff. There are so.many outstanding and dedicated staff members that have gone above and beyond to ensure the residents quality of life is the best that it can be. In a pandemic, that is no small feat! TCW is a beautiful facility, filled with caring residents. My mother loves this community, the activities, the staff, her lovely apartment and her friends. There were a lot of places out there that were nice, but none that were as welcoming as Vitality. They ensured that I, as the daughter dealing with all this, was ok first, and then they helped walk me through each step. Every single person that works here really loves what they do and wants to be there. That is rare to find, especially in elder care! They are all incredibly communicative, proactive, caring, and genuinely good people. The building is open, bright, and spacious! The rooms are big and bright (also hard to find!). The food is excellent, there are lots of options, and they will even assist you with dietary adjustments. There are a lot of activities, and they highly encourage residents to get involved. My dad is already leading 3 or 4 different spiritual study groups. He really loves it here, and I can rest easy knowing he is being well taken care of. I'm so grateful we found this place!
