I recently tried posting a prepaid parcel here. I have done this many times before. The person…read moremanaging the till at the post office was unable to send my parcel but could give no reason why and could offer no advice what to do next. I took it to another post office and posted it without problems. Since losing the original post office , the services provided at the COOP are not efficient. Largely due to ill trained staff I suspect. Not the fault of the staff as they have to multi task and do their best. I will avoid this for a post office in future and go to Bishops Cleeve where the staff are professional and very helpful.
We used to have a good professionally run sub post office in Winchcombe, but then it was moved into…read morethe Co-op where, although the staff do their best, they are obviously under- trained, have little space to work and have to serve both shop and post office customers with the inevitable confusion. The whole place needs a proper refit. When I worked for the Post Office in the 1970s both the management (which was usually time served) and the government still had a sense of civic pride largely absent today. (For a post office which is well run under similar circumstances see my review for Bishop's Cleeve Sub Post Office) I shall update this review if and when things improve.

This post office is located in the shaw village center within tesco supermarket . Close to shaw's…read morelocal pub ( the village inn pub), llyolds chemist and a kebab place. so convenient especially when items that are to be delivered like parcels, goods etc cannot be delivered to a local resident, most of the items instead of being returned to parcel force HQ or the main post office (which is quite a trek away for most shaw residents )are returned to this post office for the resident to make suitable arrangement for redelivery or pick up. Because this post office is quite small, it is limited to certain but not all postal services. Staff are very friendly and quite helpful. The post office normally closes at 5pm monday to friday and at 12 noon on saturday.

Access to the post office isn't that easy - the way into the car park is only big enough for one car and it's not easy to reverse back out onto the main road. They are really helpful though and tell you what postal insurance you need, and despite the fact that it is only a tiny post office, they are always happy to accept huge parcels! This post office has toys and drawing stuff to occupy the kids while the parents are queuing! It also has a book exchange, so you can pick up a book and read it and then return it for another one when you've finished it - just like a library, but without return dates!! The only problem with this post office is the difficulty in parking - so if you have a lot of parcels to post, this may not be the best post office for you to chose! Just in case you can't park outside.

Hours of opening have recently change and you can now get an early morning (before work)appointment or a later evening (after work) appointment. Now that the viscious receptionist has left/gone its a really good practice.

What a fantastic day out. This place offers a lot for family's…read more Great value for £8 per adult and £5 for children over two, under twos are free ! The grounds are fantastic lots of open space for the children to wonder and explore and also paths that follow through the trees and gardens. There's a big adventure playground full of lots to explore, zip wire, slide climbing frame etc. There were also blow up slides and a paddling pool. There was a separate area with Wendy houses, trampolines and a climbing frame for the smaller children which was in a really nice relaxing area. You can get up close with pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens in Pet's Corner. There is 66 acres of beautiful gardens and woodland walks, the views across the River Severn and Wales and spectacular ! There's also a cafe and shop. The cafe is really nice I had a caramel latte with a cheese and chutney sandwich came to £5.50 wich Is good value. Plenty of parking available. Overall a fantastic day out which was really enjoyed by all.
Old Down Country Park is not your typical stately home. It is a farm/zoo/park/house. Great for the…read morewhole family too. They have large lawn areas for picnics, a café for those who didn't pre-prepare food, and lots and ltos of animals. Expect to find your typical farm animals. Goats? Check. Pigs? Check. Sheep? Check. Ponies? Check. Wallabies????check!!! Entry is only a fiver and you can spend the whole day there (weather permitting) walking along the Victorian walls and cooing at all the cute animals.
