We used to have a good professionally run sub post office in Winchcombe, but then it was moved into the Co-op where, although the staff do their best, they are obviously under- trained, have little space to work and have to serve both shop and post office customers with the inevitable confusion. The whole place needs a proper refit.
When I worked for the Post Office in the 1970s both the management (which was usually time served) and the government still had a sense of civic pride largely absent today.
(For a post office which is well run under similar circumstances see my review for Bishop's Cleeve Sub Post Office)
I shall update this review if and when things improve. read more
