During my mother-in-law's stay, our family experienced repeated failures in communication, lack of proper medical notification, poor wound care, untreated infections, and an overall disregard for her dignity and safety. She ultimately developed a Stage 4 bedsore, sepsis, multiple infections, and was hospitalized after serious issues that we believe should never have been allowed to progress to that level. Questions from family members were often met with hostility or dismissal, and the facility consistently smelled strongly of urine. After transferring her to another facility, the difference in cleanliness, staff professionalism, communication, and quality of care was immediate and heartbreaking to compare. No family should have to experience what ours did at Deerbrook.

I have visited there many times and now I try to visit every Monday as a volunteer pet therapist bringing a loving little Yorkie to visit all residents who either had pets and miss them or just enjoy a pet visit. The place is always very clean. The care takers, nurses, assistants, cooks, and all the staff are kind and loving to the residents. I have visited 6 other care centers in the Houston and environs area and none can compare to the excellence provided here at Fall Creek. I have been visiting this facility weekly since January 2017. If I ever need such care I would consider being here a blessing for sure. I even find the meals more delicious than meals purchased in restaurants. I do wish there would be some supportive and confidential counselling offered to residents who may be at risk of being abused especially by close family members, even those designated as primary care members. This is the only possible improvement I see as a need. As a frequent visitor I've heard of such abuse and know of the fear of sharing it but with the qualified staff person, there would be confidence and necessary safety. This might be already present. I don't think so and for this reason I give Fall Creek a 4 1/2. Rating doesn't allow this so. I give it a 5 since I see so much good and maybe some problems just can't be solved even in a place so dedicated to serve others in every way possible..

I also provided them with a power of attorney for her medical care. Well after I was in the hospital going through cancer surgery I learned that the social worker informed my siblings that the agency I chose for my mother care when she was discharged was not listed on the hospital list of providers and was not a real agency. Causing friction between me and my siblings, and causing me to have to be there after major surgery for my mom alone even causing my stitches to open , the social worker also suggested another home healthcare provider and made a statement that my power of attorney was fake. Now who is she to say that it's fake. I went to the facility and spoke with administration who said that the social worker was looking out for the best interest of my mother but again you had a written letter from me and my mom and a legal document that states I was the power of attorney for her, so she goes to my mom tell her that the agency was not listed as a provider and states because my mom was in her right mind that she could make her own decision, but why ask her after you were provided instructions on what to do from the start my thing is I know what's best for my mom and you had instructions to follow and you did not , I feel that something is wrong with this and I feel after speaking with administration who told me to get my papers in order and they would do the same was so unprofessional and unacceptable. When all I asked for was an apology for they way things were handled. I will be looking into this matter further

The Humble facility is…read moreby far the best experience I've had with Encompass (I've been to the woodlands facility as well, and it was okay but they had a major health faux pas where i was concerned--that's for a different review though)....Humble Encompass accepted me twice when other facilities refused to take me for whatever reason, and I feel I flourished at this facility. I've been there four times total now, and I plan to go again in the future. I have ankylosing spondylitis, and a myriad of other health problems, but the AS causes my spine to fuse, and physical therapy is the gold-standard treatment to maintain as much mobility as possible. This is why I will go back regularly to keep as much as I can. I'm currently in a wheelchair but with physical therapy from Encompass, I was able to walk 10-12 feet with a walker on a fairly consistent basis. This also means I can stand and pivot, which is so crucial for mobility around my house. With occupational therapy, I learned to stand and help get things out of cabinets in a kitchen and put utensils back into the drawer while standing. I hung clothes on a clothesline, and I learned ways to take a shower that don't wear me out completely. It was wonderful. Special thanks to Amanda, the OT, for all her help--and Ozzie when she was off, he was great to me! My love to Christian, Konnie, Amanda, Ozie, and so many others. I wouldn't be as strong as I am not if not for your help. I hope I spelled names right, but if not, know I meant to! LOL And my case worker Kim was phenomenal! I will be back and by the way--the food is pretty decent, especially for a hospital. Really impressed with the hospital food here. They do serve dinner early, but I always could get the best turkey sandwiches at night if I was still hungry just by asking the tech. They also served snacks like pudding at night around 9pm, if you wanted something. Can't complain about the food. They followed me through to discharge and called within an hour of me arriving home to make sure I arrived home okay and there were no problems. They followed up with Home Health services to ensure that I was set up for home health. Everything transitioned smoothly. Can't really complain about anything at the Humble facility.... I'm pleased.

(Which is unusual that home health was scheduled before supplies where delivered, so you already know insurance wasn't the issue) Pressure ulcers (do to lack of attention and essential care) Honestly I have heard of Malpractice across the whole corporation. This needs to be taken care of before class action/private suit opens up. Not to mention before any state or city investigation starts. The employees have their children at the facility and play loud music and have what seem to be employee parties in the evening while the residents should be sleeping. They have tried to file multiple complaints and the head nurse refuses to provide any information on the cases and has been generally dishonest about all care concerns and complaints. My son admitted himself to this facility seeking help for addiction and mental health stability. He…read morestayed for a few weeks but ultimately left because many of the clients were actively bringing drugs into the facility, and unfortunately, he relapsed. He went there specifically to get away from that environment. After leaving, my son waited several weeks until he was told those particular clients were no longer there. The nurse, Grace, explicitly told him he could return and that they would take him back in. Trusting what he was told, my son drove over two hours to get there--only to be turned away. Instead of helping him, they placed his belongings on the front porch and told him to leave. This is an absolutely devastating and dangerous way to treat someone who is struggling with addiction and mental instability. Both my son and I attempted multiple times to contact the owner directly to discuss the situation. He refused to speak to either of us. This place lacks accountability, compassion, and basic professionalism. It is not a safe or supportive environment for someone seeking recovery. I strongly advise against referring or sending any loved one here for help, support, or stability.
