They let go the only competent person they had in the leasing office and now it's a dumpster fire. After sending three emails requesting my lease renewal sent to me and being ignored I was met with "patience is a virtue we're busy" UMM NOT MY FUCKING PROBLEM. then when they sent me the lease they tried charging me for my ESA that they KNOW IS AN ESA. They tried to slip in a $40 rent increase even though I have the letter they left me on my door confirming they would renew my lease FOR THE SAME RATE. office staff is a bunch of bafoons. The people that live here are disgusting. People sweat all over the gym equipment and never wipe up after themselves and I've brought this to the attention of management. Not a single thing was done. They took forever to finally open the pool and now that it's open it gets shut down all the time because people SHIT IN IT. people let their dogs shit in the hallway. People are too lazy to walk their dogs so they open the door to let their dogs piss and shit on the sidewalk. The dog park is not a dog park but a bowling alley dog run. No one picks up after their dogs. Most actually take their dogs to the empty parking lot behind the building where it's FULL OF DOG SHIT. I've found half eaten food sat on the ledge of fire extinguishers. And let's talk about how in the last three months it's been almost every single day the lazy bastards that are the construction crews working on the ground level restaurants are jack hammering and making all kinds of noise where you can't even sit in your own house in peace. Working from home is out of the question. Management keeps using a revolving "21st" date residents can expect the noise to subside and it doesn't. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. there's a reason it looks nice but you'll be mad as hell once you move in.

Think twice before moving here. Many of the positive reviews are misleading--written by realtors, incentivized new tenants, or even the owner's wife, who has never lived in the building. Security is a serious concern. There have been multiple stolen cars, break-ins, and burglaries. Despite repeated incidents, ownership refuses to install a security gate. One juvenile offender who was caught said he targeted the garage for several days because there was no security and no one noticed him. If even a minor can identify this vulnerability, it's time to take action. The owner seems more focused on retail parking and construction next door than on resident safety. Management claims to have added more cameras, but many of the crimes are happening in front of those cameras, near the elevators. Worse, the building has three separate camera systems with mismatched timestamps, making it difficult for law enforcement to investigate. Even the Broward Sheriff's Office has requested a gate and contacted code enforcement to intervene. On top of the safety issues, the building suffers from poor maintenance. The elevators, pool, and hot tub have been out of service for weeks at a time--multiple times. There have been repeated water leaks and clear signs of rushed, substandard construction. There's no visible security presence. The so-called monitoring staff are rarely on-site, and often spotted off the property altogether. Tenants are breaking leases, moving out, and even pursuing legal action. Many have issued 7-day notices and are placing their rent in escrow due to unresolved issues. The leasing office is unresponsive, and the property manager rarely replies--often citing personal matters. Although Buzzto is typically a reputable management company, their handling of this property has been a complete failure

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with The Metropolitan Apartments was appalling…read moreand blatantly discriminatory. I brought my elderly, disabled mother--who uses a walker and has dementia-- last week to tour an apartment to assess its accessibility. Despite providing my driver's license as her caregiver, the leasing agent demanded my mother's ID. I explained she doesn't have one due to her obvious disabilities, but the manager refused to let us view the property. The manager initially claimed it was a legal requirement. When I challenged this false statement and pointed out that it was discriminatory against disabled elderly persons, she abruptly changed her story and said it was now "company policy" not to allow anyone over 18 without an ID. I countered by explaining that I had toured at least 9 competing properties in the area, all of which accepted just my driver's license without issue. None of them demanded an ID from my mother, given her very visible disability and the fact that she could barely stand, even with a walker. Yet The Metropolitan refused to make any accommodation. This company's behavior was uniquely cruel and highlights their blatant discrimination against disabled elderly persons. Their lack of compassion or willingness to accommodate someone with obvious physical limitations is disgraceful. If you or a loved one have special needs, avoid this place at all costs--they clearly have no interest in treating people with dignity or respect.

The office staff and the majority of the residents are nice. However, to say this is a luxury…read morecomplex is a flat out lie. They charge Miami pricing yet don't give you Miami service or amenities. The herb garden they talk about is three grates on top of wood chips- it's not a garden. Our apartment is completely rundown while paying a premium of this alleged "luxury experience". They like to focus on the pool a lot which is a nice pool however it's always busy so if you want quiet time, you can forget it. There are a lot of shady characters roaming around quite often as well as people tailgating in the parking lot and breaking down the entrance and exit gates at least three times a month. There is no assigned parking, it's just a free for all. If you want a private one car garage you can rent one @ $250 a month which again is almost double what most buildings in south beach are charging. The building just really isn't worth the price or the hype via the website.
