My fiance and I ordered a sectional from Vance furniture company back in the begining of November, 2012. We were to be moving into our first apartment together that week. We decided we wanted a higher quality sofa and decided to go with Vance furniture company, as the reviews we read about them were very good. We placed our order on 11/12/12 along with a $2000.00 deposit and were given a delivery range of 6-8 weeks. Nothing was mentioned in our contract about an increase in delivery time due to the approaching holidays. As we approached the 5-6 week mark, my fiance placed a call to the company to check the status of our order and we were told that it would take the full 8 weeks before we had our couch. At the 8-week mark, we placed another phone call when we still had not received our couch. My fiance spoke to the owner - Craig Bailey - of Vance Furniture company, who told him that they were closed a week for Thanksgiving and a week for Christmas so our order wasn't slated to arrive for 10 weeks from our order date, a point that was not disclosed in our contract. Mr. Bailey told my fiance that the shipping company had already picked up our order and we should call them because now "there's nothing I can fucking do about it." When my fiance called the shipping company they had no record of our product on file. When we then called Mr. Bailey to tell him about the shipping company and perhaps get some clarity on the subject, he said "it's out of my fucking hands." We then decided to take the higher road and let it go... we already put a lot of money down and didn't want to lose that. We also didn't want to lose more time in looking for another couch. We were hopeful that we would still get the couch sometime soon. Then, last week my fiance received a call saying our couch would be delivered (finally!), and we only had to wait 13 weeks! Until we got a call today saying the couch will not be delivered until Next week b/c of the snow that NYC recently received (safety first, I'm ok with the reason for this prolonged shipment date). However, overall this has been the worst customer service I have ever received. I know a couch is not the biggest priority but we have been patient, and it's ok to be upset that I have yet to receive an item that was supposed to arrive 5-6 weeks ago, right? I'm tired of sitting on the floor, of not being able to sit comfortably in my new place with my fiance, of feeling like our apartment is not quite like home, yet. I am not asking for anything in return from this company, I just want my couch, and to move on with my life. BOTTOM LINE: Don't EVER use this furniture company!!! The owner is not approachable, and makes you feel like it's your fault for calling about problems with your order. The absolute worst customer service I have ever received.

Glenda's called me quickly and notified of the ready pickup. My first time there, they were staffed really well and they were quite busy. My turn came and I told him was ther for pickup. He introduced himself, shook my hand, and welcomed me to Glenda's. Paperwork went fast. He mentioned he had one and he also had one box of ammo left. I bought it. It was clear to me that he knew his firearms and ammunition. Davidson's stated it was one of three best places for pickup and had no transfer fees. There was a $14.99 use of credit card fee though. As I understand it, debit cards did not incurr this charge. Anyway, I was happy to pay the man, as he did work on my long form. A final handshake, a grin from him, and a please come back to Glenda's, as we have guns also, and I was on my way. As I walked out he said, "Enjoy!" I will in the future check this place out again as their ammo was priced very competitively!

While the stock selection of musical instruments is limited to what will fit in the small available space, they seem to be able to order most items one might be looking for, although not all brands. For instance, if one is looking for a new Gibson Les Paul, or an ESP EC1000, they probably won't be able to get it here. The selection of used guitars did in fact set the drool factor in motion (Hope I didn't slobber on too many of the instruments). My experience with Hill was in looking for a specialty music stand - one that folds out and can display 4 pages of sheet music without the pages hanging off the end of the stand. Not a stock item for any music store. They found it in a catalog and asked if I was sure I wanted to order it because it was somewhat expensive (and cost prohibitive for them to stock). Not only did I want ONE, I wanted two. They placed the order and asked me to call back the following week to check the status of it. In the meantime, I picked up a few other miscellaneous items (like guitar straps that displayed a symbol of my faith) and cashed out. I checked back the following week and as it turns out they had to go with another supplier and the order was going to take 6-8 weeks. I was willing to live with this because that type of music stand is such a hard to find item. The stands finally came in and they were exactly what I expected. While this isn't my favorite music store, it might easily be my 2nd favorite. The staff is very friendly and more than helpful when trying to get that hard to find item.
